Welcome! So happy (and more than a little nervous!) to kickoff my channel. What kinds of things might you like to see me on this channel? I’d love to hear your ideas, and your encouragement! ❤
So glad you’ve started a channel. I really enjoyed the tour of your sewing space and I would definitely like a peak in your sewing book and a look at your vintage fabric. Looking forward to the next one.
Wow so happy I have found this channel, I am so interested in all things vintage sewing but I am not great at knitting but would love a knit along. I am so excited about this channel it is just what I have been looking for. Thank you so much for joining YT I know i will learn a lot. Cheers Tricia Australia
Hey, great to see you here on Instagram😀 Would love to hear you explain your sewing notebook more, how you use it, important points for keeping one. Ive tried different versions of this - fabric list and possible plans, just a messy brain explore /work out facts and a documented of what I made, adjustments etc. Not fully happy with how I'm doing it yet and I feel frustrated. My most used one is my brain dump/work journal. Anyhow looking forward to seeing all the things you do, especially the resin buttons and belts too.
Thanks! I mainly document changes I made, techniques I maybe referenced that I think I won't remember in the future, etc so I'm not sure that would be entirely different from some of what you're already doing, but I've had a few requests for this so I'll have to share it sometime. 😊
Love your sewing studio. Love the colors and the whole feel. Would love to have a space like that for my sewing area. I can’t complain. My space is functional but it’s not how I’d honestly like it. Maybe one day it’ll be exactly what I want.
Thanks! I had very non-functional or sorta-function spaces for a long time, always hoping to someday really have a space the way I wanted it. It was fun to daydream about it in the meantime though! Hopefully one day yours will be exactly what you want. 😊
Well, this is exciting! I have followed your blog for over a decade (is that possible?) and followed your IG for a shorter length of time. I also have your Legendaire and Wondrella knitting patterns. You can bet I am now a subscriber and I even hit the notification bell, which I have done for only two or three other channels!
Thank you! I've had several people come along for the ride who've followed me for over a decade, it's pretty amazing and tickles me. 🥰 So glad you are also enjoying my knitwear design too. I'll hopefully be starting the Wondrella knit along here on YT in a few weeks!
So good to see you on here! UA-cam is hard, unfortunately - just purely from a "how do I talk to the camera without my voice giving out" and "argh editing" and "the camera recorded everything blurry" perspective, so I commend you for joining it! I've loved your blog for a very long time - my wife is also a big fan and is eager to knit your new patterns. I would love to have my own sewing space - so far I sew in a bedroom and so it's mostly just lifting the sewing machine on and off the table whenever I need the table for anything else and walking into another room to iron - but I'm moving in two weeks (to a whole other country) and we'll have room for our crafts! I'm so excited - although the move is from Australia to Finland so I'm going to have to get used to the dark.
Thank you!! Since I got Invisalign it also means I make a few weird noises when I begin sentences after a pause, so that's been interesting trying to edit around too, ha ha. Thanks so much for following my adventures over here now, too! Sounds like a big challenge ahead for re-doing your sewing space, but what fun too.
I’ve always followed you on your blog and instagram so I immediately subscribed 😀 so happy that i can now look forward to your videos as well. I’ve love the things you make as I’m also a sewer and knitter.
OMG I love your sewing room/corner and the matchy-matchy color theme. I reaaaally enjoyed this presentation video so keep it rolling! haha no, seriousely I'm looking forward to come along with you and your journey here on youtube. Best wishes from northen Spain.
WELCOME TO UA-cam!!! i'm so excited that youtube suggested your video to me and i can't wait to see your content! someday i hope to be doing this very thing...i'm a multi-crafter and really would enjoy sharing my love for my 15-ish hobbies with other people! i hope your channel does fantastic and takes off!
Thanks Vicki! Ooh yes then that's quite a long time, I was surprised when I went back to my blog to get the link for my post on the cutting table, how long ago I did up this space!
I love your studio! I came over via Bianca at The Closet Historian. I can't wait to see your channel grow and I am really looking forward to your sewing and knit along! Best of luck to you on your new adventure! Now I must go check out your blog!
Ignore my earlier comments requesting sewing room tour. Ive even already watched this video, although I was pregnant at the time and pregnancy brain is a thing. Now I'm going to watch this again, thanks!
Hello! I’m interested in moving into your basement 😂 I think the lighting is pretty great for a basement in Chicago during winter. I don’t think I would ever leave. I just purchased your Fortesse pattern as I realized I really wanted to take my wardrobe into a vintage direction. I used to be more adventurous with my fashion while I was a teenager/young 20something and I wondered why I ever moved away from the vintage style. Fortesse will be my first vintage inspired pattern I knit! I’m looking forward to more videos from you!
Shall I setup a listing on Air BNB for it? 😂 Actually my dad stayed in my sewing area when he remodeled our kitchen, I imagine that was a trip for him. 🤣 Thanks for buying Fortesse, I really hope you love knitting it!! ❤️
Congratulations! 🥳🍾🥂 As someone who's been following you for over a decade, I'm really excited to see you in long-form video! I would love to see into your sewing journal, your pattern stash, your projects. Anyway, welcome to UA-cam!
Thanks so much for sticking around all this time! 🥰 And thanks for the suggestions, in fact it gave me an idea for a potential post to show off all my past coat projects, since it's winter (up here anyway). 😊
I adore your work space. It looks like my kitchen. I have a house built in 54 and the original owners never did any upgrades to it. So we mostly restored rather than remodeled. It’s very cozy and reminds me of my childhood.
My house was built in 1953! Our kitchen was remodeled by the previous owner in the 90s, so we renovated it a couple of years ago but in a retro and modern mashup. The one original item that I loved that the previous owners hadn't removed was the scalloped valance over the window in front of the sink, which we kept when we redid the cabinets. I love that 50s feature. 🥰 Here's the blog post I wrote about it: tashacouldmakethat.com/2021/06/our-great-1950s-kitchen-renovation-reveal/
Thank you for the splendid tour! I love seeing how other people organize their craft spaces-how is this not an HDTV thing yet?? Thanks for joining the UA-cam and providing us with more fun and informative Tasha content!🧶✂🪡
So excited to see you on UA-cam Tasha. Lovely first video that has completely inspired me to upgrade my sewing space. Looking forward to your next video. No pressure of course! 😊
Hello I recently came across you via a knit you made and put on ravelry and I'm so excited to 'meet you' on here now! Your sewing space is so organized! I am definitely contemplating making a table skirt now too ... I'm constantly frustrated by seeing all the cables etc. Under my table from the other room 🤣 I'm looking forward to seeing all your creations! I'm a knitter and love sewing so I'm here for it all 😊
YES the sewing table skirt is perfect for that, that was actually another reason I went for velcro, because I could just put the cord between the two halves of the velcro to sandwich it in, and get it out of the way and not have to look at it. I love that! And thank you!!
So glad you took the plunge, loved your video, very professional and paced so well. Love your studio ....very inspiring, cant wait to se your vintage material . Looking forward to your next venture in the UA-cam world. just one question, do you have a yarn stash? no knitter can be that virtuous surely???? xx
Thank you! And I am absolutely NOT that virtuous don't worry! I keep my yarn in plastic ziploc bags inside plastic bins in our storage room to keep out any potential critters. Very boring looking. 😂
a lot of people use the friday sews format and have been building their following. Jen from Jens sewing room started it. It is a what I worked on what's next and a little bit of life. Check the hashtag #fridaysews and #friday sews or just Friday sews. Hope this helps you get going.
Oh my goodness! I’ve been a fan of your blog for years and years, and I’m so excited to see you on UA-cam! Your studio is utterly delightful. Your presentation is warm and authentic, and I can’t wait to see what you chose to share. The kitten box!!!!! And the pink ribbon container, which I really wanted a better look at. (And just because I’m a total nerd, I’ll mention that I’m knitting a 1940s pullover out of oddball leftover yarn.)
Thanks so much!! I think I got the pink containers for the ribbons from Michael's several years ago, I was really lucky that pink and aqua were "in" for containers at the time I was designing everything, since they were 2 of my primary theme colors. Your knitting project sounds great!
Your sewing studio is to die for!! I love that you have departments of glitter and mystery. I really like what you’re doing on this channel. Best of luck with it🥰
Hi, so lovely to see you on UA-cam. Loved the tour of your sewing room. Can’t wait for your next video. Must have a look at your new knitting pattern it looks really nice. Take care.
What a great introductory video - you're a natural! Your sewing space looks both cozy and functional. I've been following you for ages and you are truly an inspiration! Looking forward to video number two. 😊
I'm so excited that you've joined us here on the UA-cams!! 😽 I'm here for any and all of the creative fun journeys you wanna take us on. Also you've now convinced me I need to make table skirts for my sewing room area.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome!! And I for one am SO excited for your new relaunch coming soon, I can't wait! 💖 (And also YES, an excuse to put more novelty print in your life? Make a sewing table skirt!)
This was super helpful. I’m currently in the process of setting up a sewing space for my daughter consisting of several Rubbermaid bins of sewing equipment I inherited from my mom. Was having trouble knowing where to start.
Thanks! I have absolutely been there. When I was planning the space, I spent a LOT of time on the IKEA web site just trying to figure out what I could do to contain things in a better way than the Rubbermaid bins, random dresser, and stuff piled on stuff which I was doing before. Really happy with the results, several years on. :)
I'm so pleased you've started on UA-cam! It's a lot of work but I find it more rewarding than Instagram or blogging. You've been a massive inspiration to me over the years with your vintage projects and I frequently return to old blog post of yours for guidance. Good luck! 💚
Thank you so much for the wecome here!! Glad to hear your side of things in terms of finding it rewarding, too. Awww I so appreciate the kind words about the inspiration. 😭 ❤️
I loved seeing the full room! So cool to see all the bits a pieces in context to one another finally. “Department of Mysteries” was my favorite surprise.
I finally made good on my "someday" reply to folks on Instagram who'd ask for a sewing room tour. 😂 I did later realize I mentioned the Department of Mysteries but forgot the Department of Cuckoo Clocks. Another time!
Congratulations on the launch of your channel, Tasha! Your Sewing Studio looks fantastic, and so inspirational! I'm just about to move to a new apartment and I can't wait to get started on building my own crafts corner!
Ha Tasha, great to see you on UA-cam! Loved the tour in your craft room. So happy to hear and see you with your lovely projects. I follow your blog /insta for many years, probably 11 or so and learned a lot from your vintage jeans tutorials. What always stayed in my memory was your gorgious elephants sweater, boy do I love to knit it! I remember you saying that you would never reveal the pattern but is it also something to reconsider? I am keeping mt fingers crossed, hihi. Congrats with this new journey!💝
Glad you enjoyed the tour! Boy I had to really dig back into the depths of my memory banks, I think you're talking about a sweater I knit about 13 years ago, and I just kind of merged an elephant chart that I tinkered with, with a vintage sweater pattern so there's no actual pattern for it. But looks like I'd posted the chart on my Ravelry project page so you could check that out. :) www.ravelry.com/projects/TashaCould/pink-elephants-on-parade
This is fantastic! Just the sort of thing I really enjoy watching. And! the perfect length. I love your sewing space♥️♥️♥️Thanks for the tour and inspiration!
Yay, so thrilled to see this new chapter in your crafting/creative journey, Tasha! Your blog has been a massive source of help and inspiration to me through the years, really excited to see what you do with this channel!
Thank you so much Jessie, I appreciate the support! ❤️ It'll be a learning curve to figure out how to convey things in a new media (and while I'm used to Instagram stories wow, filming for YT is not the same 😂) but I'm really excited to see what I can do!
Congrats on launching your UA-cam channel!! I loooove a sewing room tour - thanks for sharing! I adore the amount of aqua and red you have going on 😍😍😍 I am super excited for the Wondrella knitalong, I keep staring longingly at the yarn I bought for it but I’m forcing myself to finish my current WIP 😅
Thank you Laurie!! It was a big effort to get it so color-coordinated... I spared everyone the tale of having friends tote pink, red, and aqua IKEA cubbie baskets overseas when they moved because US IKEA only had boring colors. 😂 Also, glad you're excited about the KAL!!
So nice to see you on YOuTube!! What an absolutely dreamy sewing/making space! It is my dearest hope to have a space like yours one day:) in fact, definitely inspiring me to work with the little space I have and make it more functional. Very interested in learning more about making resin jewelry if that is ever a video you are interested in making❤and excited for mash ups and hacks:)
I absolutely love your channel. Your aesthetic is beautiful and being able to sew my own vintage styles clothing is what got me started during lockdown, I haven’t stopped. I know there’s a lot of work for you creating your content but please keep it coming, it brings me great joy x
I adore your studio! Our son lives in Brookfield, so I understand the gloomy and dark! He leaves for work in the dark and gets home in the dark...but spring is on its way, right?! Love your enamel top table! Thanks so much for sharing; it was fun hearing your speak and explain your set up.
Welcome! So happy (and more than a little nervous!) to kickoff my channel. What kinds of things might you like to see me on this channel? I’d love to hear your ideas, and your encouragement! ❤
I love this❣️ I never thought of using a rotary cutter for cutting out a garment. What brand is it ❓😍
@@ritag2734 I love using a rotary cutter! I may do a video on it someday! I have a few and all are good: Olfa, Gingher, and Fiskars. :)
I used to follow your blog and enjoyed reading all about your sewing space. It’s wonderful to find you on here now.
Oh thank you!
So glad you’ve started a channel. I really enjoyed the tour of your sewing space and I would definitely like a peak in your sewing book and a look at your vintage fabric. Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you so much, Katie! 💖 I'll definitely have to do a sewing chat(s) about my notebook and fabrics someday.
So happy to see you in YT I have been an Instagram fan for years. I say "yes please! " to having a walk through of your vintage fabric.🙂
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!!
So happy to see you!
Thank you!
thankyou Tash for a wonderful video and sharing your craftperience

Wonderful, thanks for being here, hope you'll enjoy it!
I’d love a look at your favorite fabrics in your stash!! ❤
Noted for the future! 😊
Loved it! Looking forward to more content. The Wonderella Knit Along is tempting me... :)
Ooh glad to tempt you! I'll probably be kicking things off in another couple of weeks with the KAL!
Here because of The Closet Historian! I have a feeling it's going to be fun!
Awesome glad to have you here, I hope it'll be fun too! 😄
I really enjoyed your first video, you seem very comfortable in front of the camera. Your partner's paintings are very cool
Thank you!
I would love a tour of your fabric stash or of your favorite sewing projects :-)
I'll keep it in mind, thanks! 😊

Thank you so much for the warm welcome!! And I for one am SO excited for your new relaunch coming soon, I can't wait! 💖 (And also YES, an excuse to put more novelty print in your life? Make a sewing table skirt!)
I love your branding!!!!! So excited to see this new channel
Thank you!!
So enjoyed watching your video, especially the wonderful tour of your amazing studio! Congratulations on this new"ish" endeavor.
Thank you!!
You have an amazing style 😍
I used to follow your Instagram but I've recently deleted the app. So exciting to see you're starting a youtube channel!!
Thank you so much!!
I think Ikea should give sewing folks a "surprise" discount when we buy all the stuff for a sewing table, lol ! 😆
A dream come true! I can’t wait to hear more about your modern vintage life. I love the conversational style.
Thank you so much! :)
I’ve been following you on social media FOREVER and am so HAPPY to see you on UA-cam!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much!!
Happy to subscribe! Love all your makes so excited to see your upcoming projects 🥰💗💗
Yay and thank you so much!! 🥰
Just love that blue shrug on you! That is definitely your color.
Oh thank you!
I’m excited!! Thanks for sharing your sewing studio. I’m currently organizing my sewing closet and seeing other spaces helps me visualize potential.
Thanks, so glad you liked it! Seeing what others did definitely help me realize what I did and didn't want out of my space.
Thank you! Sounds like an exciting time to think about your new crafting area, yay!
:) www.ravelry.com/projects/TashaCould/pink-elephants-on-parade

welcome to the world of UA-cam. Best wishes on your new channel 🎉
Well thank you so much for coming here, and the best wishes! 🥰
yay! I'm so excited to see this!
Thank you! :)
I adore the amount of aqua and red you have going on 😍😍😍
I am super excited for the Wondrella knitalong, I keep staring longingly at the yarn I bought for it but I’m forcing myself to finish my current WIP 😅
Thank you!! 🥰Also I'll keep the resin jewelry in mind!
YAY for getting a new channel going! Your joy in what you do is obvious, and it will be such fun to follow along.
YAY indeed! ❤️
So glad I found you! I can’t see but always wanted to so I watch for the joy of seeing others sew. Love your studio!
Oh thank you so much!!
I absolutely love your channel. Your aesthetic is beautiful and being able to sew my own vintage styles clothing is what got me started during lockdown, I haven’t stopped. I know there’s a lot of work for you creating your content but please keep it coming, it brings me great joy x
Thank you so much! It is a ton of work but (mostly) enjoyable. 🥰
I adore your studio! Our son lives in Brookfield, so I understand the gloomy and dark! He leaves for work in the dark and gets home in the dark...but spring is on its way, right?! Love your enamel top table! Thanks so much for sharing; it was fun hearing your speak and explain your set up.
Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed the video!
Yay! I’m glad you made the leap. You’re so natural in front of the camera.
Looking forward to learning more about vintage fashion with you ❤!
Thank you so much!!
