Ouch! If you turn the box lock over on the Jacoje and rather than pressing on the flat part which is the back of the lock. Press on the protruding part of the tongue, which acts like a button, and your box lock will open much easier.
It hurts to watch you open that lock the way you did. Flip the lock around has a flat spot which is the button press that and it would open very easily. pulling it apart the way you did it isn’t recommended. Enjoy your chains. Great and fair review. Thanks
Jacoje's Cuban links are overpriced compared to actual Cuban link jewelers. Also Jacojes cubans are imported from Italy. I think one of the most exciting parts about ordering a real Miami Cuban link is that you know it's being handmade specifically for you by craftsmen in Florida.
I’d rather have a machine made Italian chain than a hand made American chain. Italians are bar none the best manufactures of jewelry on earth. I’ve owned dozens of pieces in 18k, 21k, 22k from all over the world(UAE, Turkish, Indian, Peru, Italy and US). Italians are the best at it!!.

Sure there are really good hand made chains but they are very rare. Italians are just pros at making beautiful jewelry. I’ve owned over 100 pieces over the years(nothing less than 18k) and that’s been my experience. Even my pt950 platinum Italian chain and bracelet are the most beautiful platinum prices I’ve owned and I’ve owned a lot. Get what makes you happy.

Jacoje doesn't make the chains. He is a middleman. Them jacoje chains are machine made with a casted box lock. Daniels jewelry is all handmade that's why the box lock and link near the lock is tighter.
Daniel's has a sturdier box lock, probably not casted. But on a practical point of view, Jacoje box lock is more practical(?): Not overly bulky looking (more flush with the chain) and the lack of button actually doesn't bother neck much or flip the chain when it is behind the neck. If I get Daniel's probably I would go with sleek lock.
dang, was gonna save up for a 7mm chain but i think imma go with 8mm up. I also have a 8mm cuban bracelet from DJ but mines is rose gold with a ruby button (my birthstone). Great comparison I have the same identical chain the only difference is mine is an 24inch 8mm Miami Cuban link I had mine for about 10 years now it’s still holding strong never had an issue with the box lock even though it’s very small for a big chain Also I bought mine from Sarraf jewelry I think the use same supplier from Italy

On my 24" chains I prefer to have them made contiguous link and not box lock so that I can just slip it on and off over my head. That just seems more convenient to me. No box lock to wear out through opening and closing.
Jacoje is just a middleman, taking huge profits from just ordering and shipping. DJI is an actual jeweler, they make their own stuff by hand. I heard you can give them your old jewelry and they’ll melt it down and make you whatever you want. I’m curious how they adjust price when you submit your own gold..

From what I've seen Gus Villa may be better at making chains than most Miami Cuban manufacturers. My DJI bracelet is really fine but soon I'll be upgrading from 14kt so I'm looking at my dealer choices closely.

CubaKnow says that a neck chain should hsng straight but a bracelet should not because if it's flat it wont hang right on your wrist. It has to have that curve.
I do believe your are supposed to squeeze the buttons on the side of the lock. Those two protrusions on the sides that look like buttons. I think I remember a video where Braden showed something like doing that.
7:51, please for the love of god tell me you already figured out how to unlock the jacoje chain. You are not supposed to pull. You are supposed to press down on the right side and that would make it unlock it self,and then you just pull it. I do own an original Italian 14k bracelet and this is the same style of lock. Has never broke in 15 years. Also I actually doubt any piece of jewelery in the states comes from Italy even if it says Italy on it. Anyone can engrave that, in Europe they don't stamp gold in K,they use the hundreds, just like my 14k bracelet is stamped 585, not 14k. And I bought in Canada in a boutique again in 2007, back when there was still pieces of jewelery coming from Italy. I personally bought for my self and my wife some fine European bracelets back in 2006,2007 in Cuba, and that was because of European tourist specially Italians who were traveling to Cuba on vacation, falling in love with cuban girls and giving them expensive chains as gift ,chains that the girls would sell to pown shops later on and I would buy them for $12,$13 per gram 14k and 18k . Again I don't believe the jacoje chains are really from Italy,but that lock is definitely how it is supposed to come if it is from Italy. The fact it is stampe in K is what makes me believe it is not from Europe. I could be wrong.
I ordered a 7mm 22 inch from Daniels, and it ended up being a few hundred bucks cheaper than Jacoje’s with the same specs. It hasn’t arrived yet so I hope the weight is there

Have you checked the actual size? Is the chain actually 7mm or it is less? I recently bought a 7mm and it ended being a 6.8mm when I checked.
I just got my 6mm and it measured 5.8 seems like Jacoje runs .2 small on the Cubans. Sending it back for the 8mm which should be around 7.8
