You're incorrect. The price of the gold is a lot greater than the mark-up for craftsmanship. The only way that wouldn't be the case is if you're being ripped off.
@@Crmjewelers if 1 wanted to invest in gold there are far better ways to invest in gold then buy jewelry.
The chain is epic I appreciate it takes time and effort which is why the cost of making add a premium to the jewelry piece.
However if we broke down the math on this piece . . .
I'm not arguing with you there. If you're sole purpose is to invest in gold, then bullion is a better option than jewelry any day of the week. The clients who but chains are doing it mainly because they like chains, not because their main purpose is to invest in gold.

Pretty neat I never knew this was the process for making chains before I watch another video before this. I find the craftsmen ship very interesting plus it looks to be satisfying work. Would have been nice to see more of the clasp work, I know it dosent look like it to most people but you guys have alot of equipment, nice. Anyway thanks for sharing this.

Not sure if this question was asked yet, but what is the substance that is put on the chain when it is laid flat just before filing it down? Is it some sort of wax or adhesive to make it stay flat and straight so it can be filed down easier? Really cool video!
Yes, that's exactly what it is and what it's for. It's called Shellac. It's a resin to affix the chain to the board for filing. Thank you so much for watching.

I need a watch crystal replaced. slid off the counter on the last cruise. very sentimental. My parents could never afford Disney, But We were able to take ours. I'm not big into souvenirs, But I picked up the Mickey Mouse Automatic. 2 years later, (right before Covid) First time wearing, checking out the shops on the boat, Plastic still on the face, looking at/trying on watches, and down it went, shattered. Glass stayed shattered stuck to the plastic, and it sits in my watch box, waiting till I can see how much it would be to fix one day. Thought I would give you an extra story with your question for fun. But it did happen. Same lil boat in Jan covid pending. (Their 2nd largest Ship, there was too much to do.) Buy ya, Great content on your chan, watched about 15 vids now since my first comment. I look forward to more!

Nah, no need for watermarks. That reduces the production quality. UA-cam reports to us why uses all or part of our videos and we get them automatically removed from time to time. No biggie.

Damn, whoever the owner bought their "10k" chain off of did them dirty. That's why you always ask for the chain or bracelet to be scanned by those fancy xray guns to make it official. To many people in miami trying to scam you outta your money. Keep up the great work!!!
