If you have a power rear view mirror and $35 to burn, you can pick up a Dongar mirror power adapter which will add a USB outlet right behind your rear view mirror. Then you can plug the camera into that with a 6 inch cable. Just as clean as hardwiring into an add-a-fuse or battery, but way easier. But be warned that with this setup, the cameras will only be on when the ignition is on; works fine in my case since I park in low risk areas 99% of the time.
Noice. Just bought the A229 and rear cam with hardwiring. Haven't installed yet but did a ton of research and this is one of the best. I'll probably mount things elsewhere and more out of the way, but we'll see when we get there. Thanks for sharing.
I currently have an A119. Probably a long shot, but does anyone know if the A229 would fit in the existing camera mount? I didn't use the adhesive so I don't really want to take it off and replace it lol.
@@teamoildrop It looked nearly identical to me, but after hopping in the truck and taking a look I can definitely see that the mounting plates have different contact points. I'll probably still make the switch, I've been wanting to get a decent rear facing cam. Thanks to you and BigDave for showing this off!!
@@sterling4478 i recently upgraded from the A119 to the A229 Plus (2 channel, no interior cam) and you need to swap the mount and wiring over to what the A229 comes with
There's always crazy things happening on the road, and i picked up the wolfbox a couple months back, it goes over the rear mirror and so far, so good. The front cam is 4k and the rear is 2k. One thing i wish though is a way to maybe bluetooth videos to my phone or something. Versus having to take out the card and transfering it to a computer. I would give it a 8 out of 10 so far

@@r.w I’ve ran the exact setup until I switched to a 24hr monitoring wire up job 😎 it’s definitely a nice option
What in the world was he thinking with the mounting of the front cameras? Good lord. 😂🥴
💀 😆 Dave! FIGHT THIS MAN… DEFEND YOURSELF
I totally agree. Birds nest right on the front windshield. Cable management is a must
We live and learn bro 😂😂😂

I have the FitcamX on my 2018. Paid $180 with a 128 SD card. I like that the FitcamX does not have any wires as it replaces the lane trace cover.

Darn the link says it won’t ship to my location.

I picked up the Vantrue N4 Pro last week. It's sleek, and the cabin camera is built into the front dash cam.
