I've just come across this video after buying a Rumble 100 yesterday and, lo and behold, here's a chap playing a Dimension Bass identical to mine through it! Perfect.
This amp has beautiful tone, and I like the lightweight design it has good sound quality. I am amazed at how good the tone to this amp is, yes it has a beefy tone.
@@christopherangelimmanuelwa8303 In case anyone else is wondering here in the present/future: Not really a good band practice amp, at least for louder rock style of music. Kinda lacks the punch to sound good with a kick drum. That said, it's fantastic for smaller venues because it has XLR out you can route to the front of house into the mixer and have the amp facing you for monitoring. Damn good tone for the price . It also records really well when running it straight to your DAW.
I have the 200 combo. the v3's are exceptional. whatever style of music, this amp can do it. from a tubby upright bass sound to a balls out steve harris sound. It will put down a country bass line like nobodies business. just for shitz and giggles I played some disco lines through it. holy crap it nailed it spot on! light weight, fantastic tone and classic looks, Fender has a winner. Thank you Dave and the good folks at F.M.I.C.
REVIEW - Aimed at new and/or beginning bass players. The Rumble series are excellent first amps if you're new to bass (skip the miniature amp and get this(!)), or if you have a mini amp and want something you can really hear and feel. Rumble amps will hold up in a jam in low-volume settings-like accompanying acoustic instruments-but it just won't work in any situations with guitarists playing through tube amps, a drummer, a vocalist using a PA system., etc. Put simply, the Rumble amps don't have enough "oomph" for _most_ live music. In order to play with a band like that, you'll need to shell out more money for a higher wattage amp with a speaker cabinet that has more robust speakers. With that said, these are really great amps for the price, and if you just want to upgrade your practice game to something better than a mini amp, this is all you!
@Wayne Green BS! blah blah blah you take this stuff WAY too seriously guy. Calm down. It's clear you love your Rumble 100. I'm sure your little amp will stand up just fine at your next hard rock gig with two guitarists running 100W tube heads through half stacks. Like I said in my other comment; we're talking amplification, not nuclear war. YIKES.
Why would a bass amp suddenly have a drum-knocking sound just suddenly and it is loud? It never used to be that way. Yesterday it was fine, and today may 27, 2023 started it?
I read a lot of reviews on the rumble 100 and 200 and they are great amps with a flexible EQ and fun overdrive circuit if thats your thing.. But they won't handle a 5 string bass at higher volumes. In this video he plays the amp at low volume (master at 10 o'clock).. The 100 watts or 140 watts (rumble 200) into the 15" speaker is too little power for that. And the lightweight cab construction is probably not really tight and strong enough for even the fundamental of the low E (41.3Hz) to be tight and strong. If you want a cheap lightweight combo that can handle a B string the Hartke KB15 is the shizzle.. 15" neodynium hydrive speaker with more crispy upper mids due to the alumium part of the speaker than a regular paper 15" driver. 250 watts into that speaker and a solid plywood cab..
Your comment is ancient in internet time, but anyways..I'd like to add: It's doubtful that you'd ever find a bass amp sub-$1000 that's going to handle a loud gig where you're playing the entire range of your bass. There are many frequencies-even outside of the low-end that you correctly mentioned-that just won't "work" on these lightweight amps. Definitely just a practice/home amp.
@Wayne Green Take it easy. I didn't mean that in a nasty way, I meant "ancient" as in he may have forgotten about it. 🤨We're not talking nuclear war here, just bass amplification.
Is this amp Loud enough to Gig in medium sized restaurant with Guitar, Drums & Keys doing Motown? ( or do I need the 200 watts? ) Appreciate any input.
Hi, Michael! Thanks for your message, hope you're well and safe. With bass amps, more is better in order to get clean headroom and projection. If there's no sound system support then go with the higher wattage amp. Hard to speak in absolutes since I don't know your instrument output or the dynamics of your playing. My friend, I picked up a Fender Rumble 200 amp and 1 x 15 cabinet. The cloth on my cabinet flutters like crazy. It drives me crazy. Did you experience such an issue? I love the setup, but that fluttering fabric is crazy. certain frequencies cause the fabric to flutter like mad. How could Fender let this happen?
Sounds like you mistakenly purchased the Fender 200 Flutter series. They're really awesome. I suggest that you watch your feet while playing if you find the Fluttering grille cloth to be distracting. But, if you must know.. It flutters for a very good purpose. It's to let you know it's working.
Harsh, why are musicians on UA-cam always such troll bastards? I swear they're the worst kind of Internet trolls. So what if he makes his bass fart a little, it's only an amp demo. And did it occur to you, that maybe it was intentional? Or maybe his hands are just too small for a five string, I bet trump would buzz the hell out of it too, with those weenie stubs
@@Ben59910 Because this guy is an exceptionally bad player. I am a guitar player and just bought a bass and in all seriousness probably sound better than him in some cases. A good player can make any instrument sound good because they emphasize the strengths of the instrument through their playing, so reviews are never really totally objective, but with a bad player it is just impossible to really hear whatever they are playing because their sloppy playing is distracting. That is why it is so hard to reconcile this guy REVIEWING an instrument, all I can hear is how terrible his playing is. Also, hand size has nothing to do with it. This is an obvious example, but Tal Wilkenfeld is a world class bassist and if you look at her hands on a bass neck they look like baby carrots resting on a fallen tree. Not to say people aren't harsh online, but most are a long way from "troll bastards!"
The tone on this amp combo sounds great but nice, clean and warm tone all in one amp combo.

This little baby amp is a monster! Beautiful tone! Super light
Finally! SOMEONE'S playing the 5th string in these bass amp demos!!!
I love this review , I am slightly concerned about the amount of the times the word Girth was used 🤣🤣🤣
Maybe Girth Brooks has one?
Really nice clean sounding amp combo
They found him working as a stand-in for Garth in "Wayne's World."
Otherwise, great amp for the $.
I'd say more like Langly from the X-Files/TLG.
Hilarious 😎

Very nice review, thanks. "Ten tons of tone," I like that.
The Amps do sound great. I got to try one in person not too long ago and was very impressed. My only question is where did Fender find this guy?
He's probably one of those who worked on this amp. I'd be happy to present this if I had worked on it.
Perhaps another Bass guitar choice, or player, the buzzing is annoying. Make it sound good man, this is Not a good demo!
Not bad at all for $300!
We want to see the amp! Put it completely in the shot :c

I think it needs a where are the frets located button..

is it loud enough for band practice with a rock drummer? ...and maybe smaller venues?
Christopher Angel Immanuel Walker Gjevnøe smaller venues perhaps especially if you’re acoustic but any drummer will get overexcited
What bass is that?! and does it come in a 4-string model?
fender dimension bass and yes, it comes in 4 strings
How can I connect my smartphone to the Fender Rumble 100 Basss Amp ?

Its bass output isnt that good, up past about 80db it starts clipping and the delta comp limiter starts to come in.
so close to wall

no bass player around??

The fabric speaker grill is held on with velcro. There's a black tab that lets you easily remove the grill.
