Sure did. MKI, MKII, and all the way up to MK4, but the first 2 were only on DOS, and the others were on Windows 95 and 98. The definitive ports of the 1st 3 were definitely the home computer ports, like DOS and Windows.
I attempted to do this challenge today, and completed it. Surprising part is, this was my first time playing through this map (I also completed Cyberden beforehand.) I forget how many times I died though... wasn't too many. Also, no save states were used during the challenge... yeah, now I just sound like a showoff. I'll shut up. :P
Nice playthought, maybe you can even UPGRADE this challenge of yours... next time play this map again, Without BFG or Plasma Rifle... Try doing it even on Complex Doom or Colorful Hell... Regardless Kudos to you, Well done !!!
At that blue door cyberdemon, I can't tell you how many times I've fucked up due to miscalculating that entrance to the hallway. I'll either be too close or too far, run into the wall, and take a rocket to the nose.
I'm not terribly good at Doom, but after a lot of practice, i've found a strategy with which i only get killed about once in every five attempts... :D takes a long time (30-50 mins) though.
You sure were tempting fate there. Especially the moment where you were taken down to 17% health. Though fighting 3 Cyberdemons with a Super Shotgun in an area with a 90 degree corner is never a smart idea.
I've just had a look at the rules for UV Tyson and the number of bullets you have on the map purely through chainguns and considering if it's even possible to do. I know xitvono did the previous level on UV Tyson, but he only had four Cyberdemons to kill as opposed to thirteen on this one! Feel free to tell me I'm mistaken!

Frugality does work here if you're patient, you can sometimes be left with just Cyberdemons in most areas. Sometimes a few stragglers here and there, too
You know, I recorded map 19 from Slaughterfest 2012 and I was hit by 2 rockets from the cyberdemons (health dropped from 200 to 18). I was lucky I survived. My health usually drops from 200 to 80-90 the first time I get hit and 0 the second time.
If you watch my Doom 2 slaughterfest 2012 map 19 video, you will find it (just type it in the UA-cam search bar). But yeah, you're right about that. I looked it up on Doom Wiki and found that the mean number of shots needed to kill a player with a rocket fired by a cyberdemon is 2.35 (200 health and combat armor).
Cyberdemon rockets do 128 damage in blast damage, and anywhere from 20 to 160 damage in direct hit damage as well. That means the highest possible amount of damage is 288 (reduced to 144 by blue armour) and the lowest (on a direct hit at least) is 148 (reduced to 74 by blue armour)
+Paul Dee Possibly, but there are two problems. One, the Arch-Vile's damage to the Cyberdemon is DRASTICALLY reduced because they don't take splash damage, and a majority of the Archie's damage is splash. Two, Arch-Viles like to run up to their targets and nuke them. Eventually he would just stay next to the Cyberdemon in a corner and kill himself from his own splash damage.
E4m6 no BFG is a good idea, but there is no BFG in plutonia map 29 and TNT Map 27( it mean that you don't have the BFG in plutonia map 29 and TNT Map 27) , I finally complete the challenge( Doom plutonia map 32 , pistol start,ultra violence, no BFG), it took me one hour to finish it. I will check the challenge if I have time.

I was about to ask a stupid question like is quick saving and quick loading allowed? But then I realized how out of out of depth I would be if I were to ask such a thing.
@@AltimaMantoid I tried it once and I got through the first wave of courtyard demons, then the second Wave killed me via a revenant homing missile that I couldn't get away from spite I ran almost all the way down the stairs I couldn't get behind a wall in time. Tragic, I'm about to do this level via ultraviolence+ it will be my toughest classic Doom challenge yet but I won't even attempt to do that no saving nonsense this time. I'll save that for the professionals like Decino and other Doom Gods.

Make them shoot each other, while trying to get the Arch-viles (which you did). 3) I'd use my chaingun more, even against Barons, just to buy time. A shotgun reload leaves you vulnerable, but the chaingun puts down covering fire. A chaingun is good also against revenants b/c they can't react fast enough. Make 'em dance! 4) For the pain elementals, plasma and chaingun work (which you knew). Smart move getting them first. 5) I liked how you fought defensively, a la Mayweather. A lot of DOOMers rush into a fight and get torn up. 6) I also like how you piecemealed it and broke it into sections. By memory, from a Doom2 secrets book a long ago: It takes 58 shotgun shells, 4 BFG blasts, 400 plasma, 400 bullets or 20 rockets to knock out a cyberdemon. For a Spider---45 shells, 3 BFG blasts, 250 plasma, 300 bullets, 15 rockets Barons--15 shells, 1 BFG blast, 100 plasma, 200 bullets, 5 rockets (think E1M9 when you get the rocket launcher at the end). Hell Knights--7 shells (half as easy as Barons) but more numerous. Josh

Great video. This is how I always play this level and there is much suffering, death and game saves. With a pistol start, one does not merely walk into Go 2 It. Sometimes I end up in the curved tunnel that goes to the upper level and snipe the Cyberdemons with the single shotgun. It takes forever, but there is plenty of ammo and the SS is more accurate. The Arch Viles and Pain Elementals can certainly make your life miserable, as can the Barons who wander out of their area. Humbling.

wow...this is just mind blowing man. I've finished Heretic the 3rd time yesterday and I hope you will do a LP of that one. BTW, I've picked up Darkstalkers 3, Samurai Shodown 4, World Heroes Perfect and Twin Cobra II (vertical shooter) for my Sega Saturn. Can't wait for those. Love 2D Sega Saturn games.
Really good playthrough and a really positive "can do" attitude to boot which helps. I have to say, watching this reminded me how "tame" normal Doom is in comparison to Brutal, which is all I've been playing since I discovered it a couple of years ago. Big differences, as well as a general massive increase to all enemy difficulties, are things like the cyberdemon rocket damage and pain elemental - the cyberdemon rockets would have demolished you before the "in the face" hit and pain elementals when they burst splatter you if you are up close! In actual fact I think in some ways brutal is just too hard and I'd challenge anyone who is sane to take this map on with brutal - I don't think it can be done legit but there you go! I may still have a video up of me attempting this map, but I died and I have never ever been "really good" at Doom. Duke 3D is where I'm at, and honestly that isn't even difficult anymore on the top difficulty with a pistol start!
I like way too many games to stick exclusively to one thing and I feel like there are too many stories to share, but I do plan on playing Doom until I ever decide to stop doing videos. Doom has a literal nigh-infinite wealth of stuff to play

I've finished this on brutal doom a few times (uv skill) but I did abuse the bfg and I believe the game is easier with BD.
That archvile jump couldn't have been timed any better man Lol... the one thing that I'll remember in this one
Just tried this on the Ps4 version. It is brutal! Done on 4th attempt though, found you absolutely have to make the most of the infighting.

MK, MKII, MK3, MK Trilogy and MK4 came out for the PC. I know because my brother and I had them. MK and MKII work on Dosbox.

I can, I have something called DOSBox that allows me to play older PC games that were based on DOS coding on a current PC =)

The trick to this map is to be as FRUGAL as possible and use every last dirty trick in the book, particularly infighting.

Sounds like you were blessed by RNGesus. That's slightly rare to survive two rockets like that. Usually two full-on rockets kills you, lol

What, killing the cyberdemons is part of the challenge? isnt beating the level enough?
It's more difficult in this map killing everything than it is just getting to the exit

I would try not using those for something like this. If it's something absurdly extreme and lengthy, maybe, but I'd at least try avoiding them

Really good playthrough and a really positive "can do" attitude to boot which helps. I have to say, watching this reminded me how "tame" normal Doom is in comparison to Brutal, which is all I've been playing since I discovered it a couple of years ago. Big differences, as well as a general massive increase to all enemy difficulties, are things like the cyberdemon rocket damage and pain elemental - the cyberdemon rockets would have demolished you before the "in the face" hit and pain elementals when they burst splatter you if you are up close! In actual fact I think in some ways brutal is just too hard and I'd challenge anyone who is sane to take this map on with brutal - I don't think it can be done legit but there you go!
I may still have a video up of me attempting this map, but I died and I have never ever been "really good" at Doom. Duke 3D is where I'm at, and honestly that isn't even difficult anymore on the top difficulty with a pistol start!
Not only have I beaten this map on brutal DOOM realism difficulty, I've beaten this map on project brutality on the hardest difficulty. Fun as hell.

That's just gold. You need to do more DOOM stuff. Maybe even exclusively? It would surely help growing your channel like crazy.
I like way too many games to stick exclusively to one thing and I feel like there are too many stories to share, but I do plan on playing Doom until I ever decide to stop doing videos. Doom has a literal nigh-infinite wealth of stuff to play
