Thank you Jesus. I’m still trusting in God even though I’m having a hard time paying bills and putting groceries in the refrigerator. BUT I STILL TRUST YOU LORD! My faith is what is getting me through my hard situation. I’m struggling to providing for my two autistic children since losing my job over declining the vaccine. I declined due to my pre existing health condition (Lupus) and Heart disease. I was denied my medical/religious exemption from Forsyth Hospital. My husband passed away three years ago, I’m a single mother. I’m all alone. Both of my sons are non verbal so things are more hard on me. Every month I don’t know how we are going to make it through. Every month is a struggle, a battle to not end up on the streets. I’m so depressed and embarrassed by my situation. I’m so ashamed and overwhelmed it’s hard looking in the mirror. BUT because of my faith, God shows up every month and provides. He has even sent strangers to help me, thank you Father. Even as I face homelessness with two young children seemingly every month! I know that God will provide abundantly. Thank you Jesus. I BELIEVE!
Wonderful, enriching and edifying presentation. Rabbinic Judaism is left with a mortal 'messiah'. What happens to his reign after his demise? But Christ Jesus is risen, never to die again. An eternal, immortal King and an eternal kingdom. Truly, He is risen!
Great video Seraphim! This presentation of the grand narrative of human history according to the Christian Church is not only a great appeal to Jewish and Gentile non-Christians to come to the Messiah, but also a great appeal to Christians entangle in the confusion of Dispensationalism to come to the true Church. Thank you for making this.
Moshiach Ben Joseph/Moshiach Ben David. One Messiah but two visits. All prophesied in Genesis1:1 with Aleph-Tav positions. The first time He came as a Suffering Servant. The second time He comes He will be ruling and reigning as King and we will not strike Him the second time like Moses did the rock in the wilderness.
So well said, brother, Seraphim, and pray more juice with Rick this to heart. And for us gentile believers to be confirmed in our trust in Jesus the Messiah and in awe of what the Lord has done in history and to this present day.
There's an excellent book on that very subject called 'On Resistance to Evil by Force' by Ivan Alexandrovich Ilyin. There is also a lecture here on UA-cam by Matthew Raphael Johnson called 'Confronting the Heresy of Christian Pacifism.'
The only criticism I have is your take that it doesn't matter how obvious it is, people's nature won't change and therefore war and idolatry will not cease. Now, I could well be wrong, but my understanding of the Jewish view was that the "Messiah" would put a stop to these things _by force_ rather than people willingly stopping it because of their recognition of him.
He can. But that would ultimately entail attacking human free will in its entirety, to achieve the desired outcome. Because sin resides in the heart of a man, after all. If it's inclined towards idolatry (today's many manifestations of godlessness in mainstream society being a prime example) then external prohibitions are arguably useless. There will always be a way for it to spring back up, in various adaptable forms. It's human desire which is the problem.
I sometimes wonder about the scriptures that Jews accept that talk about specific prophecies about thr (false) messiah. The same ones that talk about the true Christ of which they will think will be about the false one.
you have such a wide pallet of things to draw from I would wonder what you think of a perspective such as espoused by Red Judaism channel which seems to be a kind of Monophysitism

Seraphim beautifully exemplifies how to be both respectful and truthful in interfaith dialogue.

I should probably watch this before it gets taken down

Is their an Orthodox opinion on war? Is it ever acceptable to be violent?

Excellent insight. 100% correct.

Nice.
According to Jewish theological language, what is Idolatry? You would think they would have a very strong idea about it.
