The Airpods 4 are my biggest surprise in tech in 2024...lived up to the hype and exceeded expectations. Good sound, good bass, good ANC (in certain conditions), great Transparency Mode, and great mics. These are the first unsealed earbuds that don't require constant adjustments for fit in my ears

@@JcRaspBerry I’m not an audiophile but based on this review, I don’t know how to put it (lack of vocab 😅) but there was an obvious difference between 3 and 4. Still it depends on what kind of songs you choose though. I’m gonna go with 4 with ANC anyway 😆
yeah me too. I've been waiting airpods with ANC since like forever! I have Sony XM5 and that thing is nothing but awesome but having airpods with ANC completes my as I don't like to use bulky headphone when going out to local park to workout or the gym.
I am blown away by the sound quality in the Gen4 crisp with tight bass and recessed mids which gives them a V shape sound. Definitely a tremendous improvement over the G3 in every department.
How does the shape of AirPods 4 compare to AirPods 1? I loved the fit of the AirPods 1, they didn’t fall out of my ears. They were shaped the same as the original wired version. I got the AirPods 3 and they are too “fat” and fall,out of my ears. I daren’t wear them outside in case I lose them.
AP4's ANC is unreal. It's too good for an open style earbuds. They fit so nicely with my ears and I love the compact size. AP3 doesn't even come close to this thing.
My AirPods 3 survived a full cycle in my washing machine. Works while it’s wet just sound a bit weird. After left dry on the counter (not even in a rice bag) works absolutely fine the next day. I will never buy other headphones again lol
You just convinced me to get airpods 4. I would like a longer battery but it would be so nice to use them for a phone call and be able to talk to my mom or friend without background noise. Sure wish the battery was longer but I can live with that- going to exchange them. Thank you.
Update in case anyone has the same problem/considerations: I bought them and they are definitely bigger than my gen 1, but they have noise cancellation BUT it’s kinda scratchy? I wouldn’t buy them if your old ones still work.
@@mikiyachi2so I have a gen 2, 3 and pro 2. Yes the jump from 1 to 4 is big. The comfortable of 1 to 4 is a different as I prefer the 1/2 stick design more. But having a 3 and 4 is best for the find me and longer battery life. The case on 3 and 4 is longer but you’re get used after a month later so it isn’t much of an issue.
I currently have the AirPods 3 and want to know if these new ones have a better fit for small ears? Mine seem to be a bit big as I can’t even smile or laugh without them falling out. When I had the 2nd gen they were the perfect fit, would be nice to get a newer version with that exact size..
I got the AirPod pro gen 2 and sent them back it was very uncomfortable and felt like it was blasting frequencies in my ear(which it pretty much is.) I didn’t feel like it was healthy having something that deep in your ear canal doing that. Certain EMF waves are dangerous and the levels put out by that device is astounding. As soon as I activated ANC I felt a sudden pressure push towards my ear canal, and was like uhh yeah hell nah 🤣
Yes this happened to me as well. I believe it is related to Noise Cancelling unless you listen in high volume. I limited my usage to an hour or less it is getting better
@@ser1ification I had my headphone safety feature turned on and locked out to a maximum of 85 decibels. Certainly not loud enough to cause that kind of damage. Never again will I buy anything that goes inside my ear canal (unless its earplugs).
I just got one because my airpod 3 doesn’t charge properly. I really amazed by improved sound quality when listening side by side with AirPods 3 and it also more comfortable for ears. Sometimes I forget I am wearing them. Hope this one last longer.

If the AirPods Pro 2 fit you perfectly and you find them absolutely comfortable than I'd go with the AirPods Pro 2. IF NOT, then get the AirPods 4 with ANC.

I’m one of those with problems wearing in-ear buds. I got once the AirPods 3, tried em for a while and got a lil bit of pain in my ear because of them being too big probably. I heard these airpods 4 are not only shaped differently but also a bit smaller. I think they could fit me better. Did you guys have experienced anything like that?
Airpods Pro didn’t fit my ears at all. 1-2 models were the most comfortable on my ears but then AP 3 came out and I decided I needed a change from the old ones. My problem with AP 3 is when I am actively in a conversation I can feel them slowly slipping out which makes me readjust them every two seconds; would I have this issue with AP4? Considering you have the same issue with Airpods Pro I thought I could maybe get a little insight from you.
Hmm it’s hard to say like AirPods 3 for me perfectly. Same with AirPods 4. The shape is more snug with the 4 but it’s hard to tell whether it will be better for you. Might have to go to the Apple Store and try them on first
That’s so crazy how people experience things differently. I’ve lived in my AirPod pros since they first came out. I can’t do normal AirPods because they always fall out.
both my airpods and airpod pro couldn’t withstand sweat from running.. sound quality took a dive and noise cancelling sharp crunchy raspy sounds .. had to switch to Shokz. Moreover.. for whatever reason..possibly linked to sweat but very early on had to stop using for phone calls. They seem super sensitive.
Never had AirPods before. Just need them for music and calls working from home. AirPods Gen 2 or these standard 4? Which ones? Weird they’re the same price? Call quality is most important!

I have an ESR case for my AirPods Pro 2 and I love it! The magnets on the ESR case (to keep lid closed) are stronger than the AirPods charging case itself. I did swap out the carabiner for a much stronger one from a key/lock shop.
I checked out when I heard usb-c. I know a lot of people may like that but there’s no way I’m buying AirPods that have a different charging port when my iPhone 13 is still on lightning. The whole point of switch to usb-c was supposed to be less cords. Doesn’t even offer an option.

Definitely get the ones with ANC its worth every penny. As for buying stuff from a "black market" Id advise not too. Buy it from a proper store this way you'll have an actual warranty if anything were to happen.

Beats are not like they used to be as they swapped out the internal wiring to cheap stuff as soon as they got bought out. The reason Beats were so great back in the day was due to the quality of the wiring used.
I had a 2 weeks to use beats studio buds+, it was awful. Sound quality was the same as airpods pro 2021. Noise cancelling and transparency mode were not as well as airpods pro. So I think it’s worthy to buy, Apple made it worse
Bro I ain’t trying to glaze but the sounds when you talk with the air dryer is crazy and the music text the 4s are much better you can hear it more clearly
I’m in the same boat with the pros and other in the ear buds…I have two very different ear canal shapes and I can never get any bud to fit both equally well…So, I’m rocking 3s right now and they fit great. These are a welcome upgrade and can’t wait to get them! Thanks for the review.
The only reviewer that can honestly say the ANC isnt as good as the pros, which is logical. I see other reviewers saying that the 4 and pros anc is the same.
what's about talking during running or cycling? Mic in all AirPods sucks in that situations especially when it's windy. The cable mic is the best and during the cycling/running the talk was laud and clear. What's about that? cheers!
The AirPod four has somewhat of a hollow or base sound. It is noticeably different from AirPod three. I prefer the more treble sound of AirPod three and have stopped using my AirPod four.
I found the same at first, but I use the EQ in Spotify and found it needed adjustment from how I had it set with my threes, and now I’m sold on my fours.
I love the new AirPods 4 I have them only thing I see compared to the 3rd generation is that the battery last less than the 3rd generation I have the left AirPod on of the 4s and from 7 to 11:47 they only last I had the 3rd generation and they lasted longer not sure why it’s lees time the 4th generation

Normally, I like silicone-tipped earphones, but AirPods Pro kept falling out of my ears and caused extreme discomfort after 10 minutes, so I sold them. I didn’t buy regular AirPods because they let in too much outside noise. Now that ANC has arrived, I’m wondering? 1. Would I be satisfied if I bought AirPods 4 with ANC? 2. If you’ve tried silicone cases for AirPods 4, how effective are they in improving isolation? 3. Does the non-ANC version of AirPods Pro offer a similar experience to the ANC version of AirPods 4? I just ordered another pair of 3s. I’ve had mine for 5 years and they’re starting to get beat up. I found new 3s online on sale for 97 bucks on a Black Friday sale i couldn’t pass that up I’ve loved my 3s so I couldn’t pass that up

I tried the airpods 4 and the improvement I noticed is just the bass. The 4’s have deeper bass but it makes the mid (vocal) and high frequencies a bit muddy. The 3’s have decent low end and has better clarity in my opinion. If you want ANC then go ahead and upgrade. Still worth it. Hope this helps.
@ To be honest, is not the best but with the ANC it last me like 5 hours with a volume not that high. But like I charge them for like 5 min in the case and is hours of playing haha
Just tried these. They're not quite as comfortable as gen 1/2 but they're 90% of the way there and 100% better than gen 3. I'll be using these from now on as I prefer USB c and ANC, I really like them.

Have a combo of big ass ears, but tiny canals - so with you that I don't like airpods pro or any sealing phones. But also the airpods 3 fall out, usually just my left ear. BUT this ANC feature is intriguing. I have Airpods Max, but the clamp and top of head get sore wearing them with by big ol nogging. I work at home and need to drown out A/C in my office and also general kiddo noise at times. We will see if these are magic for me!
I have an Android phone and I tried both Samsung and airpods. The airpods blow away the samsungs. In my opinion it's a small sacrifice to have less options versus the Richer sound from airpods

As someone who switched from the similar gen 2 AirPods, I can tell you that the gen 4 feel significantly less secure

Airpods pro damaged my hearing, something about how the noise cancelling works and the earbuds going in the ear canal caused me to develop tinnitus

I like that the case is smaller and the buds is slightly smaller as well, i have the 3 and it feels somewhat bulky compared the the airpods 2
The 3's are still great but after getting ANC and the slightly better audio quality on the 4's its hard to go back

Same. Sound is completely drowned out by bass, it sounds awful. Returned them, and just got another pair of the 3rd gen before they go extinct

Beats are not like they used to be as they swapped out the internal wiring to cheap stuff as soon as they got bought out. The reason Beats were so great back in the day was due to the quality of the wiring used.
I had a 2 weeks to use beats studio buds+, it was awful. Sound quality was the same as airpods pro 2021. Noise cancelling and transparency mode were not as well as airpods pro. So I think it’s worthy to buy, Apple made it worse

Bro I ain’t trying to glaze but the sounds when you talk with the air dryer is crazy and the music text the 4s are much better you can hear it more clearly
How is the sound leakage?
You can hear the sound if its full blast from a few feet away. Its not perfectly clear but you can hear it playing something

I’m in the same boat with the pros and other in the ear buds…I have two very different ear canal shapes and I can never get any bud to fit both equally well…So, I’m rocking 3s right now and they fit great. These are a welcome upgrade and can’t wait to get them! Thanks for the review.

Is there a difference between sound quality between the non anc and the anc.
The only reviewer that can honestly say the ANC isnt as good as the pros, which is logical. I see other reviewers saying that the 4 and pros anc is the same.
what's about talking during running or cycling? Mic in all AirPods sucks in that situations especially when it's windy. The cable mic is the best and during the cycling/running the talk was laud and clear. What's about that? cheers!
The AirPod four has somewhat of a hollow or base sound. It is noticeably different from AirPod three. I prefer the more treble sound of AirPod three and have stopped using my AirPod four.
I found the same at first, but I use the EQ in Spotify and found it needed adjustment from how I had it set with my threes, and now I’m sold on my fours.

I love the new AirPods 4 I have them only thing I see compared to the 3rd generation is that the battery last less than the 3rd generation I have the left AirPod on of the 4s and from 7 to 11:47 they only last I had the 3rd generation and they lasted longer not sure why it’s lees time the 4th generation

Normally, I like silicone-tipped earphones, but AirPods Pro kept falling out of my ears and caused extreme discomfort after 10 minutes, so I sold them. I didn’t buy regular AirPods because they let in too much outside noise. Now that ANC has arrived, I’m wondering?
1. Would I be satisfied if I bought AirPods 4 with ANC?
2. If you’ve tried silicone cases for AirPods 4, how effective are they in improving isolation?

I got AirPods three. I’ve had for two and a half years. Should I upgrade to 4 or not?
I tried the airpods 4 and the improvement I noticed is just the bass. The 4’s have deeper bass but it makes the mid (vocal) and high frequencies a bit muddy. The 3’s have decent low end and has better clarity in my opinion. If you want ANC then go ahead and upgrade. Still worth it. Hope this helps.

@ To be honest, is not the best but with the ANC it last me like 5 hours with a volume not that high. But like I charge them for like 5 min in the case and is hours of playing haha
Airpods 4 mic has more depth. The lower end had a bit more boom.
The same with the sound. Airpods 4 has more low end.
They removed MagSafe so they can seem like heroes when they bring it back with AirPods5 (as a feature you have to pay extra for 😂)

Nothing like the classic airpods. These ones and the 3rd are bigger and they fall. Nope.
Just tried these. They're not quite as comfortable as gen 1/2 but they're 90% of the way there and 100% better than gen 3. I'll be using these from now on as I prefer USB c and ANC, I really like them.

It’s cuz it’s smaller that’s why mag safe is gone. AirPods 4 sounds significantly better with the mic. The AirPods 4 sounds way better. Better mids and lows and clearer highs

Why nobody talks about regular AirPods 4 ? It looks like every UA-camr just forgot about them.Also 4 hours with ANC on? I don't use airpods but I think the 4 are really good product. The USB C makes everything easier and they finally have ANC.

I tried the AirPods 3 and they kept falling out my ear so I ended up returning them to Best Buy.i tossed my AirPods Pro because they died to fast but I ended up getting the AirPods 4 and so far I like them they are comfortable they stay in my ear and the sound is really good
Have a combo of big ass ears, but tiny canals - so with you that I don't like airpods pro or any sealing phones. But also the airpods 3 fall out, usually just my left ear. BUT this ANC feature is intriguing. I have Airpods Max, but the clamp and top of head get sore wearing them with by big ol nogging. I work at home and need to drown out A/C in my office and also general kiddo noise at times. We will see if these are magic for me!

I don't see any sound quality improvement from AirPods 3 to 4 to be honest. Unlike when I upgraded from 1 to 3
it is as fit as 3rd gen. its falling out. i'm back to 2nd og gen.

I have an Android phone and I tried both Samsung and airpods. The airpods blow away the samsungs. In my opinion it's a small sacrifice to have less options versus the Richer sound from airpods
I tried the AirPods 4 but I found that the wired ones have unlimited battery life so I’m going back to old school AirPods
