Bought 9 Moonlight yarrow, because the color is just breathtaking. They don’t require much water, so one went into a corner where the sprinkler hardly reaches. Only one, and it is a gorgeous clump now.

Thank you for doing this video. I’ve always liked the yarrow plant. But I had no idea how to care for it. Then I found a one on a Lowe’s sale🎉 from Monrovia a red one. And the fact that they are drought tolerant is a definite bonus.

Thanks for highlighting this wonderful flower…herb…yarrow has a very interesting past …it is said to have been used in the civil war to stop bleeding…you can make a poultice with the leaves and water by macerating them to help stop bleeding and hemorrhages…it can also be used to make tinctures …it’s used to stop nose bleeds by pressing the leaves to release its oil then rolling it and placing it in the affected nostril…it helps menstrual bleeding …I hope people will consider creating an apothecary garden …you know if you have the bee balm herb in your garden and are stung by a bee if you grab a leaf off the plant and rub the place that has been stung with it it takes the sting away…I enjoy your channel 👍🏻

Thanks for all that info! I knew there was some medicinal qualities but not an expert so didn't want to go there in the video. I believe every plant has a purpose and many of them for our healing. 🥰

I tried winter sowing yarrow. I got over 70 plants from two water jugs. Summer Pastels and Colorado mix.

Managing yarrow is something else. Bought two wee ones and now they are over 3ft wide and 3 ft. Tall. I'm thinking next year of selling those and my bergamot that have just shot out all over.

@@PetalsAndMetal drops of yarrow oil in water worked great! the ants hated it and left, the plant was not affected. The smell is nice but very strong, so, mixed with water in a spray bottle smells much softer

@@TheLivingBackyard Thanks for that tip! I may try some dried leaves to see if that helps with the spiders I have trouble with in the house.
