      @Logan Weatherhead there was this weird bug that corrupted your SD card, you couldn't go online, and when you turned on the Switch with the card inserted it'd freeze turning orange or with just black. It didn't happen to all switches but it was really annoying and had to send the switch back multiple times as I didn't understand that it was the SD card that was having the issue...

    3:00 There's no way these fingerprints can be 30 years old. It's difficult to find a EU 1990 DMG., not to mention the fact they were only grey back then. Play It Loud! launched in 1995, with this console (judging by its motherboard) being manufactured around June 1995. That makes it already 25yo or younger. But realistically... it's just a fingerprint of the man who sold it to you.

    • @RWL2012
      @RWL2012 4 роки тому

      yeah my "1989 looking" grey DMG is a late(ish) UK one, 1994 on the purchase card but the box itself says 1993 on it so would've been made in 1993.
      could you help me with my other DMG...? unboxed, but it's *translucent blue* - does have the serial number label on the back. do you reckon it's an official colour, or just a very well-done reshell...?

    • @banortwi
      @banortwi 4 роки тому

      @@RWL2012 As far as my knowledge goes, there has only been one translucent version of the DMG: "Skeleton" - transparent, without any tint (easily recognized by pink letters on the front shell). Thus, I consider your console to have had its shell replaced. With that said, there's nothing wrong about it, especially considering how greatly the quality of aftermarket shells has improved recently.
      PS
      It's commonly known that up until 1995 DMGs came in every color as long as it was grey. Hence, it might be a good idea to verify your translucent blue console by checking the motherboard dates. A pre-1995 date will prove a reshell.
      PS2
      I came across more than 10 "1989 looking" grey DMGs here in Poland. The earliest motherboard date I found was March 1991. One thing worth noting about these - european serial numbers (G with 8 digits) only went up with time. If you can find a console with a number starting with "G00", it will likely be an early example.

    I really dont get why people get so pissed about stuff like "YoU dAmAgEd ThE pAcKaGiNg" or system or whatever else.. There is NOTHING that makes it truly special. Especially with the older stuff because there have been millions of people who all saw it and copied the art pixel by pixel and you can just get it repreinted onto a new box, and technically have a higher quality version.
    Technically, If you were to get brand new packaging material, and fix any device so it LOOKS new, then shrink wrapped it, you could make the claim it was never opened and as long as you didn't make any stupid mistakes no one would be able to tell it wasn't just a really well taken care of never before opened product.
    Even with this gameboy, Technically Elliot here has remade MANY of these "remanufactured" gameboys, in every single repair video hes ever done on a gameboy.
    There is no significant difference between a gameboy that has been perfectly cleaned and repaired to a brand new gameboy, and thats where all these collectors that literally have panic attacks over something being touched really just annoy me because as i already explained, there is no true difference between something that is perfectly cleaned and perfectly repaired and a completely new version of the same product.
    Even with the whole "conserving value" argument, it could also be argued just as much that a Gameboy that was cleaned and repaired perfectly could be more valuable than a "never opened or looked upon" Gameboy, because the batteries and plastic can wear down over time even inside a box where as a gameboy that has just been repaired and cleaned perfectly has had those things replaced or at least fixed so its potentially even stronger than the original and could last longer.
    And most collectors always scream about the value of certain things, then never sell them because its "too valuable". Whats the point of worrying, stressing, and panicking over keeping it in absolute perfect condition when you truthfully never sell it because it would remove a part of your collection?
    It makes me want to, if i ever get a franchise or something where i get to produce toys and such to literally just pack them into a black box so no one can see it unless they open it.
    And with a gameboy as well.. they were MADE with the intent of being played, not for being put up on a shelf and never let out of the box. As the maker of the product id kinda feel bad like no one wants to use my product instead just keeping it on a shelf for eternity.
    I just.. really dont get what i call the "collectors mindset" of never touch or use anything so it gains millions in value. By that same definiton, that food you ate for breakfast might as well be a collectors item. Who wouldn't want a 25 year old never touched or opened carton of eggs? or gallon of milk?
    Or how about your clothes? or never opened prescription eye glasses?
    THe logic is just dumb and honestly makes me sick sometimes when, with modern technology, you can in every way make that same "never opened" product even better than it was and give it a longer life than it would of had "forever in box".
    Even with rare editons. We can 3D print or regular print every single one. Heck there are people making their own special editions nowadays that are better than the company produced ones, and yet somehow their more expensive and valued more when again in todays world people are making the same color of cases. Just make the company sticker slap it on the case and you have the same thing as a special edition and no one would be able to truly tell the difference unless you intentionally did a sloppy job of it.
    And even with whats considered rare. My nintendo switch is, so far, the ONLY Nintendo Switch in the UNIVERSE that has my finger prints on it. The ONLY switch to have my finger prints. Is it not, thus, now an extremely rare collectible as it is the only switch with that feature?
    To be clear, I dont have anything against collect *ING* its the collect *ERS* that drive me up the wall, the ones that have a giant panic attack over you just opening a box or touching it.

    Mine was green though. I might still have it in storage, but I think I got rid of it a while back. I think I peeled that barcode off as well lol

    Hey man, look I need help from an expert in Nintendo consoles like you. I recently saw a UA-cam video for a "DIY Gamebit Screwdriver" and accidentally got some plastic stuck in the hole where the screw is (It's a Gameboy Color btw). So I was wondering if you have any idea of what I can do to fix that. Please help.

    Hi, I think the Play It Loud series (the color DMGs) came out in 95, right? In the title you mention 89. Did I misunderstand something?
    I may be wrong, but if my memory doesn't fail me it's 95 for the Play It Loud.

    I have an old 3Ds XL that won’t turn on anymore. A friend of mine tried combining a car charger and a broken charger. Pluggin my 3Ds into this makeshift charger 1. Made the house power go out and 2. Killed the 3Ds. Assuming it could be a fried battery or motherboard but I’m not sure. It’s an old special edition 3Ds xl. If you’d like to maybe make a video on it, dm me on a Twitter @nobledez ; I’m lovin this type of content!

    Ive never seen someone so excited about an insect carcus. Also, there is a typo in the title, btw (it should be "a" not "A" as it is not the start of the sentence).

    WOW apparently I have one of these! Thanks for this video, I would´ve never known otherwise! ♥️ It´s nowhere near mint condition but it´s in very good shape for the fact that it has clearly been played with a lot over the years. It’s the transparent one. :) My boyfriend gave it to me on christmas of 2018, funny that it randomly ended up in germany. :D I thought I would peel off these big stickers at some point but now they obviously have to stay. ☺️ (also your happiness about the dead critter was hilarious haha)

    Watching this, I recognized the sticker with the phone number, and I realized that my gameboy camera has the same sticker! Not new shell tho, just bought it off eBay. So apparently I have a refurbished by Nintendo gameboy camera! How cool is that?!?!

      Sorry, but that sticker is/was on most nintendo stuff. To my knowledge, every gameboy has that on its battery cover. Pretty rare to get something with that sticker in good condition tho. Also, nice find dude!

      I have a Gameboy color with that sticker that I bought for €1.00 because I got really lucky to find it in a flea market that didn't know what this is. The screen was not working properly but I fixed it by removing rust with some alcohol. And there also was completely perfect cartridge with Pokémon Red in it!
