Thanks for taking us along for the flights. All the best to Ralph and his bride... It's nice that they share their beautiful place with nice guys like you.
Nice trip, thank you. You gave us all good advice: don't postpone living until some future time. We do not know what circumstances may prevent us from realizing those dreams. All the best. Blessings, everyone.
I'm not a pilot, but these videos are going to motivate me to get out on my motorcycle more before I get too old. My dad kept riding his 1977 goldwing until he was 87 (just 5 years ago). He recently passed away, which also makes me want to ride more.
Juan ,the coastal cruising brings back Memories ! I lived in Los Osos and flew Out of San Luis Obispo ,up and down the Coast between SEA and SAN and everything in between ! After several trips up and down the coast to SFO and the Delta even up to SMF in my sail boat it was time for me to leave aviation and pursue my marine Carrier . I wound up with a 100 ton near coastal skippers license ! Aviation is great but after deregulation I started to fear for my life . So I made The move to the ocean . I felt more in charge of my precious life at sea ! Plus All the beautiful sea life that keeps you company when your cruising is an Unexplainable experience . Migrating With the whales up and down the coast, Dolphins , Great Whites , and all the life out off the coast . The wind for power and the sun for electricity . A great day Would be North bound on the Big Sur Coast ,Wing on Wing 6 Kts hull speed And 5 amps from the solar panels . That’s were my spirit resides . Best Blanco Ever Award! I started watching at Oroville and enjoy all your content, but this simple vid with the great Mando music and the great sentiment about Ralph and as the Magpie Girl would say, "getting out and doing the thing", well you just really warmed my heart tonight Juan, and what a capper with you and Pete and the Dog, God Bless ya
been a avid follower of Juan for many years now, since oroville . this is my favorite of them all Juan just dropping in yo say hi to ralph, brought a smile to ralph and im sure also to anyone who watches this great clip. thanks Juan.
Hey Juan, an old soldier here and a Vet of UH-1H "antique" aviation. Well done again. Thank you sir for setting such an incredible and fearless example of living life. Surprisingly it is easy to forget that is why we are here on this beautiful planet. You remind us in your inimitable manner, to get out there in the big world.
Juan, while I absolutely LOVE your videos that analyze aviation news and such, THIS one was so spectacular! Wow! Makes me wish even more that I would have become a pilot. What a life!
Great video Juan ! You are going to have to take Pete with you next time ! I can't begin to tell you how much of a mouthful you are saying when you said get out there and do that stuff while you can ! I am one of those guys ! Multi-Engine, instrument rated one day, and paralyzed from my neck down the next day ! A careless driver took away my love of flying in a blink of an eye ! Or should I say, One too many sips of the cough syrup bottle ! And that was the end of my flying days ! I guess that's why I love your site as much as I do Juan ! You keep my flying mind sharp, and my ability to diagnose the flying errors of some of the unfortunate flying public among us !
Saw those windmills, and said, "Ah, you are going out through Tehachapi!" Love that area. It is a great place to watch trains manage the pass both up and down.
I lived in Tehachapi for 9 months while I was working on a project at Edward's AFB. They have to break the trains down short so they don't string line on the loop. That means many more short trains, 24-7, and 4 crossings, the engineers lay on the horn like they are ringing in the new year.
@@sharontorgerson2556 My pleasure. Here is a recent helicopter tour by Micah over Hearst, it’s also a great watch! ua-cam.com/video/Zb72Dylay8k/v-deo.html
I'm not a pilot but I come from a family of pilots. My dad flew in WW2 and my brother retired from Cessna as a citation test pilot. So I know what it means to be a pilot at least. My heart goes out to Ralph I'm glad you enjoyed some time with him
Am I the only one who would jump in a plane and go flying with Juan? Professional, conscientious, the ultimate pilot. Thank you for the beautiful video
Juan Another fantastic video in both content and music ! The scenery is absolutely amazing and just flying along without a care in the world. Its nice to take a break once in a while from the "heavy" and jump in the smaller metal and just relax. Taking a tent along and staying overnight is just a wonderful way to drain all the stress away. You sure enjoy your trips and take in all the great sights along the way. Enjoy and be safe !
Quebec Romeo is such a pretty machine! Happy that you could meet Ralph and his wife, and make his day, Juan! This is what it's all about. I'm happy to see you get some stick and rudder time, apart from work. Looking forward to coordinating things with my brother, hoping to enjoy his SNJ down in Abilene. I asked if if he had thought of upgrading the avionics, and he laughed. He tiled me, "nope! I have all the bells and whistles I need on the Airbus. When I fly the SNJ, it's love." Nuff said. I'm sure you can relate.
What a beautiful day to fly in excellent locations to stop and the music was spot on! Just finished a loop and passed mercy Hot Springs headed into Coalinga for some fuel on the KTM 890R out of Monterey and up and over park field grade to park field inn for a hamburger fries and iced tea it was beautiful out all day.
Great message, I was around aviation my entire life, I got my ppl at 17, and was a B52 “crewdog” in the Air Force, now I’m 60 and disabled, and can only get my aviation fix living vicariously through this channel, and by my now 1000 hours flying in Microsoft flight simulator 🤣
Death Valley takeoff…. Been there…. I camped there having flown in a PA 28-140. Next morning while running the preflight in cockpit checklist I noticed that I had a “Hitchhiker”. Looking out the left hand side window just about a foot away from me was a nice large healthy roadrunner. He was curious. I taped on the plexiglass to scare him off so he would not freak out on engine start. He skittered off of the wing after. Once I knew he was well clear I started the engine and departed to the North…. Enroute to Sacramento.
Juan ~ read the comments below first ~~ You should be on TV. You should be the next "John Nance" for TV/Cable aviation news. You have what it takes !!! BTW you gotta be a child born in the 60's~~ great music!~~ great songs! ~greatest video content! Please keep it up!

Juan, you are a good soul! I've never been camping before but I hope to cross airplane camping off my list now that I own my own Plane. Thanks again for the comment on my instrument panel!
I recently saw a video interview with John Paul Jones with his Mandolin... I'm gonna have to have another viewing now that I think about it. Beautiful shot of Morro Bay! That's my favorite get away destination of all, 1st thing I do is head to the Embarcadero & stop at the fish market and buy a chunk of smoked albacore, YUM!!!
Brownie, JPJ & Paul Gilbert !!! Yeah California knows how to rock hehehe.. Beautiful trip JB thank you so much and as always the soundtrack was excellent. ~Citrus Heights checking in....

Awesome video, Juan! And tell Ralph it isn’t over because he lost his medical! There’s a whole lot of fantastic LSA’s out there, where he doesn’t need a medical for 👍🏻

Gosh, I haven't flown the Trona Gap in probably 20 years. Once when I was young, I was approaching the Trona Gap from the west when center or whoever I was talking to at the time told me that China Lake was cold, and I flew directly over the China Lake Naval Weapons Station. I even took a photo. We had film cameras in those days. You do remember film cameras, don't you?
Great video! I also loved the music, but any Zep tune with JPJ playing mandolin is awesome! It's part of the reason why I like the band Heart, as it originally started out as a Led Zep cover band. That is why they did that fantastic version of Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors. I think that after Zeppelin's original version, Heart's version at that tribute is the next best version of that song. Heart's mandolin stuff is also pretty awesome, including their cover of The Battle of Evermore.

Not just a great video, but great music, played with skill and feeling. "Going to California" is one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs.
And played by John Paul Jones on mandolin!
An aerial tour of beautiful California with Zep playing in the background. Perfection.
A very different and stunning flight experience. Nothing short of inspirational. This is what freedom looks like.
