it took me a long time to come up with what i use but basically... go to Harbor Freight and pick up some of the "storehouse" containers that have the little boxes in them. the 20 bin one works great for electrical ends and crimpers. Another one without the bins works good for US/Metric sockets (deep and shallow) and ratchets. Use the socket rails to organize further. The deep 8 bin works great for a propane bottle and acccessories. The 15 bin works good for decking screws,, nails, and another for 1/4 inch drive sockets (on rails)and another for screwdrivers. they stack nice handles up and only take up 1/3 of one size. wrench wraps for US and Metric lay on top. Passsenger side of toolbox has tow ropes, chain lug wrench. ... oil and lubricants go in a milk crate in the center. top tray has all smaller stuff.
@@TBBuilds Don't get me wrong you've organized your box for you but you can get a LOT more stuff in there. I'd upload pics but not exactly sure how to do that. Please advise.
You've got some great ideas! I'll be putting some of these to use on my work truck. Honestly one of the best set-ups I've seen. Over 13k views at the time I watched this... everyone should subscribe!
Thank you for the support and I am glad I could help. Feel free to send me pictures of your work truck set up once your done on Instagram (@tbbuildsco) or email Tbbuildsco@gmail.com Thanks again!
Yeah, I had to custom make that by removing a panel from an existing cover and cut the rails. Made it before I started my UA-cam channel, but wish I would have recorded it. DM me on Instagram if you have any ideas for making your own, I may be able to help you out. So far, I have liked the setup too and have had it for about 2 years now, thanks.
I’ve got so much sh in my craftsman, but we share about the same tools and ideas. Funny seeing the bike pump cause I got one of em mugs in there as well ha
Awesome. I’m glad I could help. Feel free to send me pictures once you’re done on Instagram or email (tbbuildsco@gmail) I’d love to se how it turns out for you.
How is that bed cover with a toolbox I was thinking about getting a half bed cover like that to does it seal incomplete or does water and snow still get between tool box in the bed cover
Yeah so the bed cover I custom made. The toolbox had a lip in the front that I could shove it he cover under about half and inch or so which helps it with water, but it is by no means water proof and I will get water in the bed with heavy rain but less than if it weren’t covered at all so I am happy with it. I have had a lot of questions on the bed cover so I may make another video just about the cover in the future.
Yeah it works quite well. Honestly, not sure where I got it, but something like the link below from Amazon or a craft store would work. I used a heat knife to cut it to size. www.amazon.com/dp/B07KZGJYRS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_E4BHRQB8T65G6EG1JTEZ
No, there was an additional piece of sheet metal under the top piece of the lid to give it more strength. So the screws only went through that piece and not the outer piece
I custom made it. It is a BakFlip. I don’t represent Truck Hero (the parent company) but I work for the company and had access to a cover that was going to get thrown away.
The light is a Braun 845 lumen under hood light from harbor freight: www.harborfreight.com/845-lumen-underhood-rechargeable-work-light-63990.html Not sure where the one I got came from to be totally honest. Most of the ones I am seeing are ratchet type not thread type which honestly is probably a nice feature. That spreader bar is a great idea, think im gonna steal that
Absolutely, go for it! Has worked really well for me.
Milk crates work good for dividers, also cut a sheet of plywood to fit the bottom of the box to keep the noise level down.
I’ve always used a piece of thickish carpet. Plywood is a good idea too!
An organized video about an organized toolbox. That’s my jam.
Haha that was the goal. Glad you liked it 👍

Awesome! Check out Truck Hero. They have many brands for stuff like that.
I have found keeping charcoal in my truck bed helps to prevent rust to my tools.
Oh really?!? That’s a good idea. Does the box have a good seal?
Maybe some bigger desiccant bags would work too.

Did the screws go through the lid of the box for the light?
No, there was an additional piece of sheet metal under the top piece of the lid to give it more strength. So the screws only went through that piece and not the outer piece
@@TBBuilds did you add the additional metal to the toolbox lid
No, that was already there with the box

How did you do the bed cover?
I modified a bed cover from a 6.5ft bed F150. I work for RealTruck who makes these covers. Do you like it?
How did you mount those hooks to hold your light??
The lid had a second plate under the outer diamond plate and I just used sheet metal screws into that.
