Thanks for the video! I was rolling with a relatively new jiu-jitsu player, but a previous wrestler. I would transition to the omoplata and they were just throwing me all over the place. More experienced BJJ guys probably wouldn't react that way, but I want to learn what I need to do when they get all buck-wild because if I try to use that in a "real" scenario, I'd have the same issue. I realized now I was 1.) trying to get a seatbelt grip around the waist but ignored the pant-leg and 2.) did not release the crossed-leg position and did not "extend" my legs to get my hips above theirs and securing a better controlling position.
Yes they only roll with there is nothing over the back or controlling their hips and legs, make sure to get a hold of the legs go to the hip and finish I’ve their back to keep them lock in place
Watched this 3 times already! Amazing details all over. Perhaps for next video, takedowns for opponents who have hips back and lean forward?
Finally got to this vid and I LOVE the detail on pushing the opponent's leg out while extending the omaplata to flatten them out. BIG OSS on that one.

Professor, thank you for the great tips. Question: when finishing, will your opponent be able to roll if you do not keep weight on his back?
Yes they only roll with there is nothing over the back or controlling their hips and legs, make sure to get a hold of the legs go to the hip and finish I’ve their back to keep them lock in place
Thanks 😊
