PrestigeWorldwide Christopher Columbus was painted as a hero by some famous author which I think was Longfellow. He did this to give hope to Italian immigrants that were coming to America. Make them believe that if Columbus could make something of his self then they could be too. Longfellow had good intentions but he should’ve found another Italian to paint as a hero.

A viking named Eric the Red was banished from Iceland for being a real prick and ended up in Greenland. The first words she said was, "Thank You". God bless that woman. School sucked, but I was fortunate to have some pretty cool teachers who knew how to make learning fun. Despite them not making what they are truly worth. That's what I mainly use UA-cam now for. To finally learn all the shit I never knew, I wanted to learn. This world is getting crazier bc it's getting more and more populated by youngsters who don't or can't think for themselves bc our education system has been abandoned, and forgotten. We need an educated populace of all ethnicities if we are going to survive as a species. Just like my man said at the beginning of this video of wanting to avoid exsposing himself to knowledge like this ON PURPOSE bc he felt it wasn't for him. Public school did that bc teachers don't get paid enough, and they don't have the full support in resources TO make learning fun.
Thank you both. Much respect. More reaction videos like these will attract a hell of more views imo. Teaching and Learning can and should be fun.

We actually have no idea. Not like there are written records of the reason, so everything is just speculation. Another speculation is that they named Greenland Greenland to encourage settlers to come or that the first time the saw Iceland, they came from the south east, where the first thing you see is a giant gletcher, while they came to Greenland in the 2 weeks in the summer where the coastal areas, at least, actually are super green.

@@SakiBlablabla There are texts by norse people from that times and Greenland was describes as "icy land" , so no. You're wrong. The ice sheet of Greenland is at least 400.000 years old. And yes, there was something called the "medieval climatic anomaly" or the "medieval warm period" and there is evidence that because of that warm period there was a bit of green and some trees near the coast. But the medieval warm period was not a global thing and most "heated" regions were not warmer than they are today. However, other areas were colder and the world wide temperature was colder, too

I just watched this video last night and now i see your reaction video to it. My reaction was the same. However, i am a history teacher. I will be showing this to my students. I know there is some bad language in it, but the kids will laugh for a second and then continue watching.
What i love about this is..... it' literally covered the 4.6 Billion years of the world. This covered every major event, civilization, political stance, scientific discoveries and social aspects of history. By watching this 19 minute video, you will see some things that you know and most that you won't know. That's the true beauty of it because it is going to mae you ask the ultimate questions. WHO? WHAT? WHEN? WHY? and HOW?
This was brilliant and i agree with you both, i think a lot more of our youth would get more interested in history because of this video alone.
See something you don't understand or have knowledge of? Then this will make you want to go research it and learn more.
Really glad you did a reaction to this video because i feel that a lot of people will have the same reaction that you did and it will motive them to want to learn more and more about ALL the worlds history.
    Great Job you two!!
