Roy Benividez also carried 3 enemy soldiers and loaded them on the chopper just in case they had any intelligence documents that could be useful.
And this is not forgetting that before all this he was nearly paralysed from an accident and worked himself at night in a military hospital to learn how to walk again. Dude was indestructible
"The Revenant" is the movie based on the story of Hugh Glass. They added more action to the real story to make it more intriguing but still it's a great movie played by Leonardo Dicaprio.
Watch the original film with Richard Harris, It's a classic!
@@bobbyhood101 Yeah, "Man in the Wilderness" is the Harris film. They change the story a lot in The Revenant, like giving him an American Indian wife. At some point it just becomes fiction with too many changes.
@@DavidSmith-pg1ob so first off we know very little about hugh glass beyond his survival story. We don't know whether he was ever married. We do know he never had kids. He did go and get revenge on john Fitzgerald because Fitzgerald stole his shit not because of any wrongful deaths. They just added the son and wife to the revenant to give glass a more sympathetic reason to come after fitzgerald but literally everything else was accurate
The man who was struck by lightning alos survived multiple bare attacks one time he har to crawl fore miles bck to his cabin
React to the true story of hugh glass. There is much more than crawling for weeks after the bear attack
Homie killed himself to go have a word with Zeus
😂😂 I'm going to Hell for laughing!!! 🐧🐧
😂😂😂😂😭😭
the fucked up part is... lightning struck his grave after he died too
lmaooo
@@Monglomon 😂😂 Poor dude!!! He shoulda played the lotto!!! I hope that you have a wonderful and blessed day my friend!!! 🙂🙂 🐧🐧
That last guy is the real life Rambo... Damn.
How is there no movie about Roy benavidez, that's a disgrace
@phoneflipp dude got a medal of honor. I'm pretty sure he couldn't give two shits if he got a movie or not. That's how badass he is. The most you guys accomplish is complain on social media.
E x A c T L Y
that scene of tropic thunder where ben stiller gets shot and shot and shot and shot and still keeps running...is nothing compared to that guy...holy shit after multiple gun wounds, an explosion and beaten up he still killed the other guy and survived.
Because in today's day and age, if someone saw him in a movie. They'd be like. RIGHT! Whatever! That's a lie! Who survives that, when in today's movie a person gets shot once and he dies.
@@nomtijorti he probably couldnt give a shit about getting a medal of honor, I doubt that's what was on his mind when he was doing all that
The guy who cut his arm was made into a movie titled "172 Hours," starring James Franco.
127 hours.
Yeah the part where he gets to the arm cutting and the fucking nerve and that guitar sound effect they use.
@@djkoz78 that was fucking amazing, jarring to say the least.
We watched it in school usually I will gts when they play movies but i actually watched the whole thing
@@Kyngjay300 I doubt they let you watch it at school and before you come back at me you might wanna prove it 👏 otherwise you're just a sad little twat
Roy Benavidez was one tough hombre. I watched a documentary about him several years ago, and was blown away by his story and more impressed with him as a man. This was one of Americas real Heroes. In the haze of everything going on, he actually loaded a wounded enemy soldier on the chopper. If you haven't seen the whole story, I urge you to watch it.
The Climber who had to amputate his own arm wrote a book “between a rock and a hard place”. Described how he had to cut it with a Swiss army pocket knife. I cringe every time I think about how long it took for him to cut through
They made a movie about it and it shows him cutting through the tendons and Everything. Pretty graphic and hard af to watch. I believe it’s called 127 hours.
Oh heck no! I would rather make sure I had everything straight with God and go on to the other side.
If the knife was at least somewhat sharp, the cutting wouldn't take that long (at max several minutes due to exhaustion and shock, but it could take even less than 10 seconds). What I cringe at more would be trying to break his arm, that is not an easy or fast thing to do if you don't have something very heavy at hand.
Frank Teryngel just going by what I read. But I think that was the longest part. From what I remember he was trying to saw threw the bones first and I think just broke them instead with a rock he was able to reach.
@@katiehavird3246 Yes, he did end up breaking the bones in his lower arm. Cleanly, right at the wrist. He used the rocks around him as leverage.
There is a Japanese man who survived BOTH atomic bombs that ended WWII
Yes...Tsutomo Yamaguchi
astri rahadiputri yes!!!
in the aftermath, we learned that the most effective shelter is L shaped, with all humans/pets in the foot of the L, no injuries even if shelter has no door on it an is within a very short distance from the impact spot. I saw a doc on the bombings. there was a man who was caught outside so ran in an L shaped dugout in to the foot. He walked out without so much as a "sunburn". He also had a very low radiation load too. fun facts
The bombs didn't end ww11
@@lux3831 the bombs were uncalled for. Japan had surrendered
Okay that last one was definitely the most badass on the list. Dayum! Crazy
This dude must be taking some drugs to ignore the pain he is going through
Real life Rambo right there. Trained to ignore pain and keep fighting. That's crazy.
They left out the part where he was in such a rush to go get them he forgot his gun and was only armed with a knife
@@prxjecterror1016 he took morphine to keep himself awake
When you are wounded and all you care about is saving your buddies. Adrenaline takes over.
You make it sound like you summon your Adrenaline to save your friends 😂😂😂
Too many super hero movies dude, you would produce adrenaline to combat the stress of injury.
Saving your friends or anyone else would be described in medical terms as having big balls.
@@truckspank656 thats not true actual y u produce addreniline when your body realizes you are in danger wether its mentaly of physically
@@christianarmstrong3448 "combat the stress of injury" I hate to quote myself but you must have missed this part. It is a stress response.
Roy Benavidez's story gets even more crazy when you consider that he prior to that incident had stepped on a landmine while deployed with the South Vietnamese army as an advisor to which he survived and was pronounced to never be able to walk again which he crawled around on the floor of the hospital at night to get his leg muscles back where he eventually walked out. Then before that when he was training for his time in the airborne he broke both of his legs in a botched landing where he eventually recovered and would begin training to try out for the Army Special Forces. So then the story of him in Vietnam in which he was awarded the medal of honor he was attending Catholic Mass at the base when he kept overhearing the radio chatter calling for backup which he then found out it was a friend of his so he then hopped on the next chopper heading that way and in his haste forgot to grab his rifle, so he deployed with only a knife. Then during the firefight which was the 12 man US Army Special Forces team and 9 Montagnard tribesmen versus a force of about 1,000 NVA soldiers and that firefight lasted a total of 6 hours and during which when he dragged the men to safety he prevented sensitive intel from falling into enemy hands by recovering it and during the ordeal he even dragged a few NVA soldiers to be loaded onto the chopper. Which when he eventually saw the doctor after returning to base he was found to have suffered from 37 separate bullet, shrapnel and bayonet wounds, which one of the men he dragged away was able to retell his story and in February 1981 he was then awarded with the Medal of Honor 13 years later. Oh and Simo's story gets even more wild when you find out the explosive bullet he was shot in the face with was from an Anti-Tank rifle and the day he was released from the hospital was the day the Soviets and Finns agreed to a ceasefire
Wow that has to be made a movie
@Healz Rambo is like a joke to this man...
And I have a hard time walking sometimes because i overdid it some weekends. Makes you put things into perspective
@@richie_rich4129 Only reason there hasn't been a movie is because the Finns during WW2/Winter War had a pro-German government but stayed out of the main war, preferring to just prevent the Russians from invading. But Sabaton did write a song about him called White Death.
The movie "127 hours" played by James Franco tells in detail the story of Aron Ralston the guy that cut his own arm ! watch it guys it's a great movie if you are into sports and survival stories.
"127 hours" definitely a good watch
@@fergman901 oh yeah thx I forgot it's been a while haha

Came to say exactly this
Or just watch Deadpool. He spoils the 127 hours movie on the bridge scene with Colossus. 😂
Roy Benavidez is legit a BMF. hit up his speech to his local highschool
Donald Trump was to send him back to Mexico. Draft Dodger pos.
@@blackswan915
That's absolute bullshit.
@@blackswan915 Hilarious how liberals were proud draft dodgers during Vietnam and now hate draft dodging because Trump supposedly did it. Definition of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Also, Roy Benavidez was an American, not an illegal alien.
The last guy was unstoppable!!👍👍👍
Last guy was, solid snake bro... What a beast
He got that god mode turned on
Rapheal Wood bravo going dark
He literally had 1HP left
Respect to u sir but I give it to queen, this is some final destination shizz
That last guy was Captain America. “I can do this all day”
jeremysev Bro I wasn’t being literal, they just have the same mindset. 😂
@jeremysev Thjat's the only good way to quit an addiction is cold turkey
You guys should react to the Roy Benavidez video made by simple history. It goes a bit more into depth to his story.
Roy is one bad dude!! If I'm not mistaken this was his second trip into this battle zone, and he went in with only a knife!
Its allot more amazing hearing it from him he was paralyzed 2 times in life and walked it off.
MACVSOG!!!!!
Green Berets put the work in.
Hell yeah they should react to roy benavidez he is a green baret and what he did theres literally no words
These stories tell me two things.
1) for those who want to live nothing will stop them. You use what ever you get your hands on
2) I do not have that drive to live. I would be the first to die
Lol That's what I was thinking😁 I'm a fainter every time I get hurt. I'm thinking "I'm know where I'm going when it comes my time. It wouldn't be that bad. My mom and grandparents are already there and I wouldn't mind catching up with them" lol
I"m number 2 all the way..lol
When you yell out "Shazam!" seven times, what do you expect?
Imagine yelling out "Shazam!" and being struck by lightning but instead of turning into a superhero, you die. 😂
Maggot therapy was used as far back as the Civil war. Possibly sooner than that. They still use maggots today but the ones used today are bred in a sterile lab. The also use leeches in some procedures today. For example if someone was to cut off their fingers they can take them with them to the hospital. After reattaching the fingers leeches are out at the tip to help remove old clotted blood and help to restart healthy blood flow.
Audie Murphy should be here. That dude was a true American badass and even played himself in his movie
That's for sure.
Read his book "To Hell and Back." His matter of fact descriptions of the insane things he did is pretty darn inspiring. He just tells them like they are stories of him walking to the store. No big deal. A true badass.
You should check out a tv series on Netflix called medal of honor... It show how these MEN above MEN did to earn the medal that you'll think Audie Murphy was mellow... Lol
4:15 "i dont even want him to be my family member no more"😂
Stories of Medal of Honor recipients are always great to hear. There haven’t been too many movies about those real heroes. Great reaction video, thank you again.
Y'all are hilarious! She said, "I don't think I want to go on a mountain no more. " .... "who asked you".... "well I was hoping"
They mad a movie about the arm guy too called 127 Hours staring James Franco. They made a movie about Hugh Glass too called The Revenant staring Leonardo DiCaprio
Which, iirc, is the film that finally saw DiCaprio win an Oscar. It was a fantastic film!
127 hours is great movie
His name is DeCaprio, you dumbass
@@histranger7988 Who cares...get bent
The guy that got cut in half and survived was one of the most incredible things imo. Not only was the guy conscious, but as an emt, doctor, whatever i cant even begin to understand how you go about saving this man.
About the white death sniper guy, he also never used a scope because the glare would reveal his position, so he would only use iron sights to kill enemies from hundreds of meters.
19:25 THATS MY GRAMPA HE WAS IN VIETNAM AND HE WAS A PILOT WHO CRASHED AND HE SAID THE MAN WHO SAVED ME WAS THAT GUY.
The last guy was like the main character in a video game when you get shot then your health bar goes back
My dad survived 2 things that should of killed him 1) he fell 60' on to his back on frozen ground, he got up and was wanting to go back to work, only had a bruised back
2) he got gassed by H2S at over 800 PPM when it is deadly at 100 PPM not to mention he died as a child when he drowned
I think a lot of people have had close calls like that, I've had so many close calls when I was a younger that I'm not sure anymore that i even exist.
I was blessed to have Roy Benavidez come speak to our high school in 1982. What an unbelievable American hero. Thank you for your service 100 fold sir.
If you search Sgt.Benevidas on UA-cam, you’ll find him giving a speech... impressive man right there.
The movie about the Rugby (I stand corrected) players is called "Alive" it's a heavy ass movie fam
@Fundamentalist American. It was actually a rugby team from Uruguay.
The movie is very good though 👍
Yeah, pretty heavy movie, Ethan Hawk played Nando Parrado who was one of the guys who made it to Chile to get a rescue, but they had to hike almost 40 miles through the Andes in the harshest conditions to do it!
I was upset watching the movie realized that these folks could have walked off the mountain from day one.
"But wait, didn't like this dead guy, so I'm going to eat him first" got SALT
There is a movie about Hugh Glass the Bear attack its called "Revenant" great movie with Leonardo DiCaprio that i know of !! 👍👍
Just found your channel, which was recommended to me, LOVE you guys!!!!
Desmond Doss should’ve been mentioned too...they made a movie about him (Hacksaw Ridge), but they added and changed some stuff. Ironically, the most unbelievable things in the movie were the things that actually happened 😂❤️👏🏼
I met Roy Benavidez several times. He had family in my home town, people I knew in school were cousins of his. I didn't really comprehend how much of a badass he was until years later.
I did personally know a guy who survived FOUR helicopter crashes in Vietnam.
Roy Benavidez was from my neck of the woods he's a good ole Texas man
An amazing man!!! Never once thinking about himself!!! God bless him!!! 🐧🐧
@@peggypenguin4268 Donald send him back to Mexico he looks to Mexican.

This was a good one.
Thank you guys for your time.
Merry Christmas.
You should watch MST Jon Chapman, who was the first ever to be recorded for his actions that won him a Posthumous Medal of Honor
Another fact about Roy Benavedez is that he had no rifle to begin with. He never got the chance to grab it before the chopper left
And he brought back 3 dead Vietkong fighters for information with him LOL
im spending new years with y'all. Thanks for the videos, and the friendly, welcoming atmosphere :D
Your reactions to this was the best thank you , loved every moment
I can just imagine Frane Selak walking down the street, Death walking behind him with a pissed-off expression and a freaking list, scratching things off and getting more and more pissed as the list grows shorter and shorter.
Incidentally, most people that win the lottery end up dead or missing, you know. They call it "The Curse of the Lottery".
Yep. Death probably tried that one too.
I am death, not taxes. I show up only once.
@@PsychedelicFerret Your comment had me laughing.
I know this dates my age but I actually remember when President Reagan awarded army master Sargent Roy Benavidez with the Medal of Honor 13 years after this day in hell. They showed it at my grade school on TV.

You make my day !!!
Yo that some very good content and natural feedback! This vid and the 10 places to never visit are great! Plus you a em fan and know real lyricism you got a new subscriber 👍🏻👍🏻
That was an interesting and unimaginable video. Gives a whole new meaning to, "survival of the fittest".

Roy didn't just spit randomly, he spit Into the doctors face lol
Roy.. youre hurt bad, youre gonna die.... Roy:" i aint got time to die.. "
The film “The Revenant” based loosely on Glass.
Yes. When I was a cop prior to retirement, a transient we called Buddy, had maggots on his foot. He went to the hospital, but the doctors told him to leave them as they only eat dead cells and actually clean the wound. He liked to show us his “maggot farm” every time we went out on him.
that old guy who survived all those possible ways to die pretty much gave death and life the middle finger after winning the lottery.
final destination is something i refer to a lot!!!.....i still wont get near a semi hauling logs on interstate
I know right!!!
Sammmmmeee
...or pipes.
Hell I drive 18 wheeler for a living and log trucks will never not unnerve the hell out of me
That lightning didnt strike twice in one place, I'm sure the man moved after the first one
Wow people are amazing. Great content yall. 👍🔥
6:50 He was struck in different spot every time! Never in the same spot.
Lesson: do not travel with Frane Selak.
There’s a bit more about Roy’s story in a video. Can’t recall the exact UA-cam video but it is an animated one about him if you wanna watch it
Here's the best video on Msgt Benavidez.

Wow all these stories are incredible
In the movie Gladiator: the Afrikan bushman told the General "leave them alone, they will clean it" regarding the maggots in his sword wound on his arm. Also: Dog or Cat saliva is an anti bacteriant...so allowing a cat or dog to lick your wounds, is a good thing.
Struck by lightning 7 times??!?!!! No way
JAY EF someone yelled 'Shazam' too many times.
The Roy Benevidez one on here doesn’t do him justice. The whole story would shock you,he was almost supernatural. They should’ve given him a hundred Medal Of Honors, and a thousand Purple Hearts.... although he wouldn’t have excepted them.
Facts!!!!👊🇺🇸👊
I've read about that first lady. What the video leaves out is that she was in the tail section of the plane when it exploded and left her separated from the others. She was knocked unconscious by the blast, and oxygen deprivation from the altitude. The tail section, with her in it, hit the top of a small mountain and threw her limp body free of the wreckage. She tumbled down the side of the mountain all the way to the bottom, where she came to a rest and was found alive by response personnel. Her being limp, and the long drawn out process of tumbling down the slope of a mountain is what allowed her to live. Most people get severely injured from falls because they're tensed up, and death is more a result of the sudden stop rather than height and/or speed.
i LOVE when you two do videos together

Mr. Ballen gave an account of the last story in great detail. It's definitely worth a listen.
Love your expressions with the guy that survived multiple accidents!😂
The movie where they ate each other to survive was called "Alive".
Roy benavidez is my hero he had heart soul and dedication for his brothers in arms and country long live your soul

That one guy who survived all that... that's crazy! He deserved to win the lottery. Getting struck by lightening actually makes you much more likely to get struck again. Ashame he killed himself after surviving all that.
Thats only half of Roy Benavidez' story. Google him. One badass soldier.
We all know that After that ERB, Thanos Ain't on this one
The one where the hiker fell and got his arm pinned and he had to cut his arm off with his pocket knife was turned into a movie called "127 hours", Aron Ralston was played by James Franco. I highly recommend it for anyone that hasn't seen it
I'm glad all these people have competent guardian angels, because I'm pretty sure mine is an alcoholic.

React to simple history the marine who survived 8 hours in hell or something like that it's about Roy Benovidas
Not a marine, but he was an Army ranger... bad ass dude either way!!
That last guy, play of the game.
You 2 are so funny. Love your comments.
Roy Benavidez is a truly humble and inspiring man. UA-cam some of his speeches. They are well worth listening to.
Research Sgt Maj Brad Kasal and the Battle of Fallujah. Doubt there is a UA-cam video on him but multiple AK47 rounds and grenades protecting a wounded Marine is hero level stuff
Is he the one who took some router ads the the nuts, shot 30 or 40 times and still fought off the enemy.
@@pinkberryconsumer4059 not sure what all of that was, but he took multiple mags of ak rounds and a couple of grenades while protecting one of his Marines. He also fought the Drs at Walter Reed Medical Center to keep a leg they were going to amputate. His book is called "My Men are My Heroes". He is a hell of a man.
@@johnhardin8391 the dude I'm talking about I believe I seen on The Joe Rogan podcast dude got shot up big time and then still save some people and his own life
MSG Roy Benevidez was a Texas native, lived mot of his younger years in El Campo. He will always be a Texas hero, sadly died in 1998? and was buried with honors at Ft. Sam Houston Nat'l Cemetery. His autobiography A Vietnam Warriors Story is a good read, if it's still available.
We have so many Heroes out there like that. You just tip the iceberg on this subject.
Couple points. Benavidez spit in the face of that doctor.
Also, and this one is important, people in survival situations that drink their own urine and live, survive in spite of drinking their urine, not because of it.
I survived Australia, so far....
I feel like Australians are badass by birthright 🤣
I live a few miles from where Hugh Glass was attacked, near the Grand River. He crawled 100 miles to the Cheyenne River and then floated another 100 miles to Ft Kiowa. Total bad ass. He mostly survived on berries and roots because his buddies didn't even leave his knife.
