- DIFFERENT TO MY CHANNEL....
here is a video on how to fit and remove the heater blower on my mk6 golf gti....and the location of the heater resistor as shown in different places on various models.... and also not to over pay for easy jobs this is the purpose of this video to help those out that are stuck and confused on the job....and that the resistor on this modle is built into the heater blower NOT LOCATED NEXT TO THE HEATER BLOWER....THANKS FOR WATCHING
FairPlay for taking the time to put this up.
Can’t believe how much they wanted to charge you for labour to replace that!
Don’t know which is more annoying, that over charge or the clip breaking 😮😅
Thanks man....amd yer it was pretty funny and frustrating when it snapped 🤣 wasent needed really any way lol...but yer man I was looking for 2 days for the resistor I was just watching other yt vids on it...and was all different to mine
😂 ngl I had a good laugh waiting for you to snap that clip. Done it myself before so I knew it was coming.
😂😂😂 I think if you don't snap it, you haven't done it right 😅
Bruv, from the gold coast of Australia, thank you. AC and fan went, then i found your clip. Just taken old one out, now going to buy part. Sweet brother thank you
Hi pal, thanks so much for putting this up!! I took the part out following your guide and got part number for the dual climate resistor. While the unit was out, I disconnected the wire for the resistor and plugged it back in. Then I thought I'd just plug it back in and voila! It worked again. I know it's probs short term but at least I know what to expect. Massive thanks again pal!! 🙏
Your most very welcome am glad it has helped 😊
You kept this install real. Well done!
Thank you man, am glad it helped in any way ...with these ones I tend to find it's just easier to film whilst doing it saving any cuts so the viewers get a better look 😉 merry Christmas
Bruv, you're fkn amazing. I got quoted $1050 for part alone, but got part from wreckers for $85. Just installed it (2minutes) and it's working brilliantly. Thanks dude, you saved me easy $1000 aud.
before you pushed on that tab i was thinking it was going to break. I was dying when it actually did lol
🤣🤣 I know man it was so flimsy it literally broke so easy 😩 lol it still screwed in nice and tight though didn't really make any difference it being there or not lol
THIS is the whole reason why I didn't want to have a go replacing it myself knowing I'd mess it up with the broken tab. But seeing as yours still works without the tab I'm giving it a go!
This could be the first video i see someone doing it on mk6 golf. 😅
Thats the reason why I done the video bud to help others out and help with the confusion on the resistor
@@mrrctime7079 well done mate. I was about to make one a week ago about how to change blower motor because there was not even one video where someone digs it under there on mk6
@@1zakis ah wicked ther we go then mate I saved u a video lol....but yes all the vids I found were ones with the resistor separate to the blower not attached to it 😀
Cheers for this information. Grabbed a low km (56k) Japanese import MK6 GTI less than a month a go (in NZ). Less than 1000km later I have already replaced the coil packs & pulgs, and now have an AC blower issue.
... Anyway, why the ramble? I was leading into a thanks for spending the time to put this up. Appreciated.
Your most very welcome bud... and yes got mine in the UK only on 42k.. it is audi s3 turbo converted on 300bhp at the moment
Thank you for putting this video out... Appreciated.
Thanks bro !! Much appreciated
Thanks! Can you reach the "flap" also when you took out the blower part? ...I need to check the flap motor it its broken or stucked.
Well done
Thank you man, following other comments I hope this helps 🙂
@4:00 WELP FUCK!!!! Great vid though on my way to the junkyard to get a new one.
Hope it helped you bud... you getting a brand new one from a junkyard?
Hi mate got a mark 6 2009 , blowers work but only on 4. None of 1 - 3 do anything. Would I be right in saying it's the resistor that needs replacing as opposed to the whole blower unit? Or is there something else causing this. cheers
Hi ya bud sorry for late reply and yes if still works on 4 it will be the resistor
Thanks for the video… i was going crazy not knowing where the resistor was… so do i have to get an entire blower motor assembly or does that resistor plug in somewhere in the blower assembly? Thanks for the video mate
You're welcome dude.. and no, you are best off bying a whole new unit as the resistor will be built into the blower 😉
Thanks very much for the reply.. i ended up taking apart and cleaning my blower motor and its working again, but i'm sure it's temporary. I will be ordering a new unit and installing soon. You are a legend.@@mrrctime7079
@mikachu7o494 ah wicked well at least it working for now dude, amd your very welcome thanks for the comment! 😎, when come to replacing your probably beat of changing the whole unit for peace of mind 😌
Hey not bad. Here in USA the mk6 has the same stupid useless tab on the blower motor.
Ah yer it's abit confusing at times lol... glad it was a help to you
My blower has gone on my VW 6 model and I have no idea which motor to buy.. do I need an integrated regulator/ resistor ?
I wouldn't like to say witch it could be but...I have been told by vw if your blower still works on blower level 4 then your blower is fine as 4 would run off the car not the blower it's self.... if it dose not work atol then your blower will need replacing....the resistor will only control heat etc
@@mrrctime7079 i took the blower out and ordered the same one (without resistor) my bower works it just has a squeaking noise (bearings) i know i could probably use wd40 but decided to buy a new one anyway
@panoramic6011 ah wicked good move man...all ways best if your not sure amd the part is fairly cheep and easy todo is to just change it out...hope any of this has helped you bud 👍
Was the blower blowing full then partial then full
Nope mine just stopped completely
Whats the part number?
Is the mk7 the same
Am not sure bud but it will be easy enough to tell if you pull the blower out and can't see the resistor under the dash 😉
Ok no bother
