Being an autodidact is the best way to learn IMO. I was an electrician before I started working on cars so this kind of stuff all makes a lot of sense to me already. The thing that I had to learn myself is how all these electrical components are actually controlling stuff in the car like the engine or transmission. Learning it yourself is great because you develop greater insight in specific things than if someone were to teach you ;)

@@@Diagnosedan Now, when I found out that you're autodidact..., I like you even more!!! Amazing stuff..., like usual... :-)
I love to learn from you. And funny thing, one of my nephews asked me this morning if I know what could be the problem with his car, same thing like here, only it is on the right side. I knew I saw this title in your videos, just got back home, found it, watched it and now I'm sending the link to him in...Europe...
Thank you. You the man..., again!

    Hi, Dan
For the past year, I’ve struggled with my 2011 MK6 Golf regarding the issue you address in this video.
Last winter, I had a problem with water getting in my car at the passenger’s feet area - apparently, through some clogged lines that were supposed to drain the water from the sunroof under the car.
At about the same time, I realised my car won’t heat the passenger area at all, no matter what settings I used for the climatronic.
Went to a mechanic and he took my whole dashboard apart, he said it was an issue with the heat core being clogged. My car was finally blowing heat into the passenger area.
Exactly one year later, I realised my car was doing the exact same thing - only blew cold air in the passenger area. Went to the same mechanic, he told me he unclogged some lines / something (no dashboard removal this time) and the car blew nice, hot air through all the air vents...for a couple of days.
I’m now in the situation that my car blows cold air through ALL the right side (passenger’s) of the car (including the back side).
I didn’t reach a VAG COM diagnose tool until now, but I suspect there is no fault code about this.
What do you recommend me to do first?
Car in discussion is MK6 Golf, 1.4/90kw, Climatronic, LHD.
    Thank you!

Dan another fantastic video. I'm also enrolled in Paul Danners on line instructional class and between your explanation and Paul's you have visually cleared up all my questions of the flow of electricity thru positive and negative flow resistors. It's great to see an opposite flow as the resistor heats up the resistance drops and voltage flows to ground. Really enjoy your video and the visual explanations. Cheers

Hi Bap Athwal. I have audi A5 2.0tdi, 2015. Same problem like this one, cold drivers side and warm on the passengers side . It is hard to find the right diagnostic , so everyone is guessing in my place. Please tell me, so you had the exact same problem as from the video, i mean you fix it with the sensor replacement? How much time and money did it cost you? Thank you !

@@ivicaslavkovski3251 yes I had the same problem as in the video.
I removed the thermistor got the exact part number printed on it and looked on eBay, I got a used one for around £10. Make sure it’s the same part number otherwise you may have issues. It’s easy to remove and replace, just twist it and lift up and it comes out. As I done it myself it was only the cost of the part. Hope that helps.

What I like to do when diagnosing sensors like this, is to see if the read-out changes when I disconnect the sensor.
If nothing happens, then the sensor is toast.
Also, if your scan tool knows the range of the sensor, and the read-out is spot on the outer limits, you can tell if it's a sensor fault, wiring, or (in the case of an AC pressure sensor) the gas pressure is too low.

    Hello Dan
That was great video. In my car i got cooler air on passenger side both on face and windshield. Is there is any sensor on windshield vent too or not? And can you suggest where to buy sensor from?
    Thank you

Did you locate the problem? Have the same issue, but struggle to understand the fault..

My car: you can choose whatever temperature you want and you would get always the wrong temperature:
Heat in summer and Cold in winter.
Its an old A4 B5, I'll have to fix the heater core but disassempling the whole dashboard is quite challenging if you don't find the instruction on online. Or even on elsawin!
