My husband and I attended a Jackyl concert tonight. Absolutely one of the most fun shows! And sincerely the nicest band.... They are so respectful and grateful for their fans.
Jesse used to run sound at a placed called Danny's near Atlanta. My band played there a few times and we were all impressed with his mixing abilities, but more imporantly, his hospitality and generosity. Very humble dude, and quite the foosball player. That's the sign of someone who's spent a shite load of time in the roadhouses!
I saw Jackyl at their prime 1992/1993 100 shows in 50 days tour. Wow, best beer drinking ass kicking band ever. All original members! I was there 4 hrs before the show, my girl and I were then only people in the parking lot, bar was open we went in and Jackly was eating in the bar/restaurant, Jesse came to our table and introduced himself, got all their autographs right then. Major cool guys.
One of the best live bands I have seen and I have seen them many times...from at the Cherokee, NC motorcycle rally to a 4th of July show in Florence, AL
Hear hear, brother. I've seen them more than 50x, from Tucson to Phoenix, to the House of Blues in Chicago, to little dive Bars and clubs all over Chicagoland, to a defunct airplane hanger in the middle of nowhere in northernWisconsin, to big stages at Summerfest in Milwaukee, to the old Star Plaza in Merrillville, IN. And I've left with a shit eating grin every damm time! lol
Jackyl shows are like Jesse says it's a Jackyl family reunion...and I believe he says it from the heart ...these guys are the genuine deal..still after all these years ...
Saw these guys many times when they were a bar band playing covers (excellently I might add) back in the 80s in the upstate of SC. This was before they had Jesse as a frontman, and I saw his old band PG-13 playing clubs, too. Then saw them when they started to take off opening for KISS. They've been road dogs and rockers for years. They're the real deal...a rock and roll band!
I honestly just love these things about music.... Being able to sit down and dig deep into the roots of bands and their lives in the industry..... I can say I didn't truly realize what I wanted to do in my life at 18 in my life,...not what I needed for sure ..lol...but now I truly know i missed the experience of being able to be apart of this experience... Could of ,should of, would of...lol
I could sit and listen to Jeff talk all day! lol I met chris at their show in 2016 and he was the nicest guy ever!! Bought our tickets for the august 18th show this morning!
I`ve experienced the ol` "time o` the month,unwashed",um........ride(for lack of a better term) and it`s something that you don`t forget....you know, like the guys gettin` off the plane in VietNam and that odor/aroma kinda grabs you by the throat and MAKES you TASTE the damn thing........................
my confession i would have made it into charlie macgruders the first night had i not been from carrolton ga where you start drinking at 900 not midnight. my friends made it driving my car while i was puking
