Just came across this presentation of this song. Excellent! One of my all time favorites. I picked this song as the the B-side of a 45 that was recorded by Jesse Smith in 1982 produced by Sonny Holly.
Is this from Austin City Limits? Never heard this version before! I'm on a mad wild search for anything by Steve Wariner that I don't have, or haven't heard before!
In the hands of a Lloyd Green,, of course. Or for many other great Steel Guitar Players. Not to mention of Buddy Emmons. Who was the greatest there will ever be!. May Jesus bless their precious Souls. And I mess them so much.
I have always loved Steve Warners, Singing and guitar playing, But it takes some one of Steve's caliber, To really recognize the caliber of this great pedal steel guitarist. RIP Loyd Green.
Loyd Green, And Steve Warner together, An amazing sound, of voice and strings.

Nothing like the old steel guitar.

I like it better than Rosanne Cash's version, but we all have different taste. That being said, nobody matches the rich tone of Merle's great voice.
Merle is the best, just the best. But Steve Wariner's voice is butter...
Steel by Lloyd Green . Oh My God

Hey Missy get it RIGHT. Merle Haggard and Joseph (Red) Simpson wrote this one.
I love Steve Wariner's music but I think that Rosanne Cash did it better.
This is not my favorite version of this song. I like Rosanne Cash's recording best.
Well MOST believe it's the BEST!
