Brandon has been one of my top favorite Panthers. When Seattle comes to play at Sunrise, I am willing to see a thank you message displayed on the overhead screen.
I'm a Panthers' fan and Monty was one of my favorite players. It was pretty much a foregone conclusion that he was going to be gone at the end of the season due to Florida having to deal with Reinhart's extension first and foremost and making sure that they didn't go over the cap. He is a great player and had a great three year run (21 - 24) with the Cats. That being said, the Kraken grossly overpaid for the privilege of signing him. He is 30 years old and has 80 percent of his best performances behind him. In addition, he missed 20 percent of Florida's games las year and you never know when that starts becoming a trend. There's no doubt that Florida would have preferred to keep him but only at something like half the AAV that he got from the Kraken.
Why the Kraken? Money. Let’s be real. Money. Two years in the Finals, a Cup, and a Presidents Trophy. Homeboy wanted the cash, which I get. Just funny that he couldn’t even remotely BS his way through this interview. Dollah dollah bills in his eyes, bruh.
I absolutely love this guy, and I'm sad to see him leave the Panthers, but this is a massive overpay by the kraken. I mean Christ, Reinhardt only got 8 at 8.6
Never understand when there is a group with success.. and winning.. and then why not sign for less to repeat.. is one cup win enough? It happens all the time...thats wht penguins, blackhawks and tampa could keep up.
His reason for leaving the Cats is bullsh*t... he said in another interview that he wanted to go to a team that wanted him and that wants to win 🙄 ... C'mon dude, you wanted the money !!!! Be real for once... you could tell by the way he was laughing he was full of sh*t... Whatever... Panthers will find a replacement and one who will probably over-achieve.
Agreed. Mild year round, very rare extremes in temp and it doesn’t rain as much as people stereotypically think it does. A lot has changed weather-wise up here the past 15 yrs or so.
The funny thing is that if you don't take into consideration the Seattle Metro Area, the state of Washington is about as deep red as Florida. The answer to the question then is don't live in downtown Seattle if you play for the Kraken.
Thanks for memories Montour. Once a Panthers, always a Panther.
people dont understand how good this guy is. Seattle you got good one.
I am very excited. Go Kraken!
There was no chance to keep him, more important deals on the line
Miami native here: Monty was one of my favorite Panthers, he will definitely be missed. Glad he went to Seattle though, I respect the Kraken

Thanks Montour you will always be a Panthers Champs ❤
Love you Monty you will forever be apart of the panthers first Stanley cup, I wish you the best 🙏🐀🐆
Just once I want to hear someone say "yeah they just offered the most money so I took the offer" when asked why they chose a team
I don’t think the answer would blow over well with the new fanbase even if it’s the truth.
I mean he pretty much said that without saying it, he already won a cup now’s time to get paid

Sabres fan that loves Branon Montour. I really wish he was here but really happy for him! And sad for us, as usual
Thanks for everything Montyyyy!!!!
Monty got the $$$ and ran with it. Can’t blame the man for the hustle.
Wishing you all the best!
Dang man!
That was fast. Hate to see Montour go. Thanks for the memories.
Im a fan of Montour but this is a big overpay. plus at 7 years
We will miss him 😢
Today stung. Real bad, we lost Monty, Lombo, stenlund, OKE, and Stolarz.
Lombo will be missed. Doesn’t take a shift off. Good energy guy.
Thanks for the times Monty. Happy you got your money bud.
Man did he Have the worst finals possible but panthers still won, wish him the best moving forward.
7 million a year - about 3-4 million/yr overpay
crazy take, he had 70 points last year and came from an injury this year and had 33 points in 66 games
@@edustava6991and he had 37 points in 81 games the year prior to his 73. Love Montour, but Seattle got fleeced.
Thanks for everything, Montour. The Cats will miss you!
7/50 million is why he signed in Seattle, let’s be real here
Montour... More like Traitour 🐍🐍🐍 nah only kidding, no chanse of turning that deal fown.
Why the kraken? Because they can pay me.

It's a overpay sure, but good players like Montour won't sign here so we overpay him
Get that bag Monty, generational wealth for his family. But big overpay by Seattle
Love this guy and was one of my favorites but No way is he worth $50 but good for him.
I absolutely love this guy, and I'm sad to see him leave the Panthers, but this is a massive overpay by the kraken. I mean Christ, Reinhardt only got 8 at 8.6
Does he still get the cup for a day
Dang, that sux.
Quite the change in weather from sunny S FL to cold and damp Seattle.🤢🤢🤮
Never understand when there is a group with success.. and winning.. and then why not sign for less to repeat.. is one cup win enough? It happens all the time...thats wht penguins, blackhawks and tampa could keep up.
The Panthers didnt want to pay him that (thank god). This is going to be his only time for a big payday so hes cashing in.
@@Hockey7234 Have to respect that. FL has the salary cap to contend with and Seattle has space for him.
@@davideberhart9523Well said. Although I'm sorry he's leaving, he got a great opportunity in Seattle.
@@davideberhart9523 I mean hes a good second paring D man. I wouldnt pay him more than 3.5m/yr. But thats what the kraken want to do then go for it.
He was absolutely dogshit in the final. See ya montour!
lol i hated him in Buff, he is not worth this money, but congrats to him for getting it lol
He's gotten better since Buffalo, and for the past decade Buffalo has a tendency of players playing worse than how they really are
His reason for leaving the Cats is bullsh*t... he said in another interview that he wanted to go to a team that wanted him and that wants to win 🙄 ... C'mon dude, you wanted the money !!!! Be real for once... you could tell by the way he was laughing he was full of sh*t... Whatever... Panthers will find a replacement and one who will probably over-achieve.
If the Cup is pure silver it is worth more than the " Money" he is getting.
The Cup is not made of $50,000,000 worth of silver 😂
@@elemeno0pee His money is not really money and is worth ZERO.
@frankgraham1996 pretty sure he's getting real adult money that he can spend
It clearly was the cash, ya the fan base, who ya fooling, he’s going to retire.
why the kraken? the real answer: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
"THE LOVE $$$$$$$$$$$$" Man is not worth that much. The thing is if you were in this for a cup it would be stay in florida he is only there for money.
He wants to go there because he can make the same money with little expectations, you aren’t winning there
the weather is better. Not as hot as in an oven
The weather is better, you're kidding right? Seattle is a gloomy, dreary, rainy city most of the time.
Agreed. Mild year round, very rare extremes in temp and it doesn’t rain as much as people stereotypically think it does. A lot has changed weather-wise up here the past 15 yrs or so.
also, fans who actually know what hockey is
Moving from a great state to one of the most fucked up places to live good luck you’re going to hate it there
Will have to see how much happiness buys for that kind of money. I could leave FL for WA for that amount, knowing I don't have to stay there forever.
Florida is a lot of things. A great state is not one of em
Florida great? The only great thing you have is you offer no tax. It's a swamp 😂😂😂
@@ouzi9122 It's a great place for millionaires not only because of the tax situation but because of the lifestyle possible there for them.

What Stanley Cup Parade 😆Good Grief Charlie Brpwn
