Honestly, the fact this only appeared after they married sounds more like a mask slip than depression. She waited until he was legally tied to her for her to act this way

Classic reddit, dude lists in great detail how his wife is an absolute deadbeat who's ignoring her husband and her kids and yet they gang up on him because when they dated he was 19 and she was 16

Document all the things you are doing as far as childcare so that you can show that you are the sole caregiver for when the inevitable custody battle occurs. Consult with a good divorce lawyer. Even if you decide not to file for divorce right away, at least you'll be ready. If you do not live in a very large town such that there are not many divorce lawyers, consult with all of them, or at least all the top ones, before you pick the one you want to hire. That way, she won't be able to hire any of them. And in the meantime, stop paying her bills, at least for that game. Because, at this point, you are enabling her addiction (I am not blaming you; she is responsible for her own behavior, including for taking advantage of you, but you don't have to let her take advantage of you).

Wait… they’ve been together for 18 years, living together for the last 10, have 3 children, 6M, 4F and 2M, and they got married only 3 months ago?…

I do wonder if she is making excuses or not, because it legit sounds like the symptoms of depression, however, it also sounds like OP is getting depression, too.

It likely may be but if she isn’t willing to get help she doesn’t get to leech his life away

Good for him for not listening to reddit and trying to get to the root of the issue before dumping her and taking the kids. Apparently most people wont tolerate that sometimes it's 50/50 and sometimes one of you need to shoulder 80% until your partner is OK if it's the woman whose struggling.

The problem is simple he’s acting like he’s the wife instead of the husband.

Well, at least you know what most wives deal with when it comes to lazy husbands I don't feel sorry for you cause you chose her and it's your fault for being with her this long and not getting a divorce but anyways i guess it's good and fair that women are starting to act like how men tend to be

Good lord someone’s bitter. Maybe the men you attract are that way, but that doesn’t mean men in general are that way and it definitely doesn’t make what this guy is going through “good and fair”.

I like that you just decided that this how men tend to be xD. What a joke. There are just as many lazy mothers as there are lazy fathers. We know from statistics that fathers are better parents when they have sole custody of the child. But we have to take a jab at an old trope that was created for comedy. Let's also not forget that most of those "lazy" fathers are the sole providers for their homes.

God no matter how you twist it the blame will always fall on the men.

I don’t understand your point? Why should absentee fathers reflect poorly on OP who is not? I agree that he should not have married her if she was a poor partner but women in general becoming absentee parents does not solve any issue. Any absentee parent harms the children. Why would you wish that fate on the innocent ones with no agency? It’s vile and disgusting. No mother or Father should be absent from their children’s lives.

oh so this is how all your comments are when men are looking for help in their marriage, it’s their fault they married their partner and women acting horrible now is like some kind of reparation of men as a whole. sounds like misandry to me
