@@BikkurineI like one story with no one calls them out family out that s***. Go ahead try the normal stuff you know I just think that's really some cowardly stuff. I would have called everybody out they call me out I'm not that person
Talking about her dad dying hits so hard. My dad died at 1am, alone. I feel deep regret every night that I wasn't able to be there in his last moments. I had just started my job and took on the financial burden for my whole family, I couldn't miss work and was always exhausted. Parking at his hospital was $20 a day and I was broke.. I'll still never forgive myself for not being there on that night one month ago. His sister and brother blamed me for his death, said I let him get bad, let his infection take root instead of forcing him to go to a doctor. Even on Thanksgiving it was brought up "how could you let it get that bad.." And hearing how he died in this story just makes my heart ache knowing mine didn't even get to have me. I'd give anything to have my old man back. Its not fair he left me too early. He got to keep his dad till he was almost 70. But I lose mine when hes barely 50. Idk why I'm ranting here. Feels nice to just have somewhere to say it I guess. Where no one knows me.
When my dad was on his deathbed, I realized how much my mother was in denial. The saddest thing is how I tried to be strong for my mom and my younger brother and sister and my mother was unset I wasn't crying like the rest of them.
@@CharlesJohnson-y3rWell to reassure you not all women are like that. I have been there for many friends and family members of the male sex when they cried.
If extended family doesnt stand up for you when you were being treated like a stray cat in your childhood; needs to keep their moths shut when you finally lash out..
This is so sad. My own family wasn't much better. My maternal grandparents were still alive and well when my mother, aunt and uncle started squabbling over their estate and care. Even though all three were retired and living within a half hour of my grandparents' house, they all refused- in advance- to care for them, on the grounds that "If I step up, the other two won't, and I'll end up doing it all myself!" (In my mom's case, as she literally lived next door to them, this was a valid concern.) Unfortunately, I was living 300 miles away, working a full time job plus a part time job, and had a wife (who also worked) and young daughter. Worst decision my grandparents ever made (other than having children, TBH) was to give my uncle the banker and financial guy power of attorney. "How sharper than a serpent's tooth is an ungrateful child." I may write down the whole story someday, but even a quarter century later it's still too painful. I wanted us to quit our jobs and move across the state to take care of them in their home until they passed, but we needed the health insurance from my primary job.
“If you can live with ruining your sister’s wedding, then I guess you’re not the person I thought you were.” My response: “If you can ask me to pay for your daughter’s wedding, you’re exactly the person I knew you to be.”
I don't understand why the wedding was embarassing unless it was decorated with cheap dollar store crap. Why would the couple be embarassed, why would the family and friends be embarassed. Did they get married at the wedding? Yes? Cool. The childhood stories of favoritism. She says the dad was there for her, but then why weren't her extracurriculars paid for, why was there only one bike under the tree, etc. He didn't do anything for her lol. But also parents don't just forget the child they've been raising on account of a new one. That's just not how it works.
I'm going to be perfectly honest I don't understand why the poster just doesn't tell everybody the truth on how terrible her mother and sister is because maybe that's just me but I know for a fact I'm not going to let people make a fool out of me just because I don't want to give them what they don't deserve
Well mom disowned her, and the only reason she had the house was because "family." So since Mom removed the "family" part she also effectively removed the house part😂. But seriously though, I agree with you that it's a powerful move for OP, because it took a lot of strength to follow throughout on that. Some people would have just tried going NC but OP was like "repossession!"
How can you flunk out of high school? Schools work hard on children’s education where I’m from. I have a brother with Down Syndrome and he graduated from high school. Rachel should’ve taken the hint from her first marriage as to how to be a better person! Sometimes you just can’t fix stupid!
That’s MY story. My father went into the hospital for “pernicious anemia”, essentially not producing red blood cells. For the 5 months he was there I was the only one who went to visit him every night. My sister said “Oh my son has to go to karate, soccer, etc.” My brother was 1000 km away, so I understood THAT. But when we got the call “His time is almost up” then they went and were crying like they had been visiting every week, and were devastated. All I could do was laugh. And they didn’t like that.
Anyone who thinks these idiotic stories are real has no sense at all. A husband CANNOT leave his entire estate to some third person if they are married. Half of their stuff straight up belongs to the wife.
It isn't american exclusive. Here in Russia it is also common tradition to get credit for large and absurdly rich wedding, and every sane person is making jokes about it.

"we are family"
The most infuriating sentence ever.

Yeah, but I've got all my sisters with me, so, get up everybody, SING!
just under the sentence "You're selfish and ungrateful"
Never worked on me. Fk. this type of family. ;-(
I hate that phrase, " Family is family." But they have no clue that actions speak louder than platitudes.
I'll say 😡
In these stories they always mention "family obligations" like nah ! There is no family obligations when you leave your parents nest !
Exactly!! " Family Supports Family" is code for "So even though that person treated you like crap, they're Family so you gotta take their crap"..
And it is ALWAYS used toward a family member. Who apparently no longer matters.
I hate "You are so selfish and greedy".

Depending on the state, the mother could claim the property by "adverse possession" after having lived in it openly for all the years she did.
