He will be remembered all over the world for his actions as a true hero.

What’s sad is good hearted people like him aren’t truly recognized until they’re gone
I don't cry at many things but this had me crying my eyes out, What a hero! RIP Ignacio fly high friend
Facts
Exactly how I feel
i am in tears right now
Me too. This brought me to tears, and I don't even know the guy, but I wish I had.
What a loser
the guy said it so perfectly that skateboarders everywhere can connect with this because we're a community like that, and we all know we'd be swinging that board right there with him, rip
damn man gave me chills straight up sad asf😔🙏 💯
Right before he said that I was tearing up. Pretty good just connecting on a deep level.
That's the entire parkour community, bro.
there is no other way!!!!
One love brothers and sisters ❤️
To think this was 4 years ago is crazy to me.. Rest in peace
This breaks my heart. He seems like he was definitely someone you’d want as a friend.
What a brave young man…
"Hero skateboarder" that's a good sound.
Hero banker wouldn't receive good responses.
When dad's voice broke, my heart broke too.
Descansa en paz, héroe.
R.I.p mate didn’t even know about him and I live in London you are hero and your family will be proud of you . F isis
Dw Allah will punish them in hell.
@David Saddy charge who with hate speech? Did I miss a comment someone erased or something?
@David Saddy wait what? where did that come from? 🤔
@David Saddy Lol that was funny
@David Saddy People here somehow don't realize this comment is closer to the truth than a joke. People get arrested for jokes in the UK. It actually happens.
He was an absolute gent. At all times. Always remember him smiling at mile end always would say hello. Certainly left a massive hole in the skate community, not just in London.
Rest in peace Ignacio, absolute hero my man, much love to you and his friends/family from Australia
When they raised their boards in the air for him it was a very touching moment
People like him truly make a difference in this world. He's touched a lot of lives, we should all strive to be like Ignacio
We are all proud of Ignacio. A true hero! RIP buddy
This is why I love the skateboarding community, we all generally care about eachother.
Yeah tell that to the friend that ran away while he was fighting.
It’s good how the skate community is so nice to each other. The people at my local skate shop are amazing people and they’re so nice
@@slurp3194 how dare you to say something like that. it was a trerror attack. He lost his friend and you jugde him, unbelievable.
@@slurp3194 That’s terrible if you actually think that way.
@@slurp3194 Everyone reacts to fear differently. There are those who succumb to the fear, those who run from the fear and those who fight the fear. This story shows the latter two and nobody should be judged for how they react to fear.

Damn RIP Ignacio, a True Hero. Much Love from Los Angeles, CA.🙏🏼
What a gift to this world, he was. The skate community is a strong one. It's a beautiful thing they have done to remember him. They should be as proud of themselves as he is of them.
This is the wholesome, informative videos I like to see from vice. Shining a light on an area of the world a lot of people didn’t know about
im a skateboarder and i never heard of this untill now in 2021. what a hero. it should be global news.
a father should NEVER have to bury their son....but he was a soldier in his own right and when you are a soldier for righteousness and humanity you will always be struck down but you will never be forgotten and will always remain an inspiration for the next. R.I.P.
Ignacio was a skaters skater. Watching this made me cry, we lost one of our own and we will never forget him as he was, a hero.
Ignacio seems like a kind hearted and a true soilder! You will be remembered here in the States as well. Skateboarding is a brotherhood that never dies. RIP Ignacio and may you skate in peace! You are the man. A true hero!
Yup. He died 100% skateboarder.
Facts. Couldn't of said it better.
Dude traded his life for two other lives, what a hero.
A true selfless individual who laid down his life for others. Love and respect.
Skaters be crazy man, always facing their fears. No matter what the consequences may be.
A true thrasher.
@Blackhand Spectre that’s what skateboarding is all about buddy, being reckless and having fun while doing it - you would never understand because I can just tell that you don’t skate hahaha
Im personally a cruiser/long boarder but best believe we dont turn down no hill. Steep or not steep.
Rip to this brave hero
@Blackhand Spectre exactly you get it
@Blackhand Spectre who else are they putting at risk tf
As a Spanish and immigrant I feel really proud of him
When you see him you instantly get the feeling you wanna be friends with him.
"All that it takes for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing" RIP Hero
This ^^
Genuinely cried. RIP hero.
Man this is heartbreaking. We need to hear more about of the hero’s in these terrible situations. Keep their legacy alive.
I live in London and we didn’t hear half of this on our news? This guy is a hero, thank you Ignacio, may you forever rest in peace ❤️
As a Spaniard I´m not surprised at all that English media did not want to cover a foreigner being a hero in their homeland, much like the French did after the liberation of Paris. People don´t wanna hear they were freed or saved by foreigners, they want to hear patriotic stories even if they are lies.
I had the same thought! Why was this not in any of the U.K. news channels?
@@rastachech1375 my friend was also killed in the same attack, he was the only British person killed, he was also killed trying to help a woman that had been stabbed - it hardly made the news about him either. I'm not sure why, I guess there were so many attacks that year? Much love always to all of the victims and families and friends of the victims
He would’ve loved the idea of the Sunday Skate Session. He’s watching over everyone as we speak. He’s the type of guy who would love to see everyone skating together and just being happy. 😢
The genuineness of his friends and family shows how much he is loved and valued and how fondly he would be remembered
Never knew about Ignacio's story. Now i will for the rest of my life.. Hero
I love how his mom really knew him and encouraged his skating. Rest in peace Ignacio Echeverría, your a hero and a gnarly skater.
I hope heaven has the best spots for him to skate. R.I.P
Heaven has a half pipe. Live on .
I’m a 40 year old skater and that brought tears to my eyes. Thank u Ignacio🙏✌️
Anyone else got more and more into their feels while watching this, and then cried at the last half by all the beautiful words?
Yes, it's really touching...he was a pure heart
Giving your own life to save another's life is the bravest thing someone can do, such a real hero
Man I really feel a pain in my chest seeing his friends talk about him.
From one skateboarder to another we're brothers in that right, shred in heaving RIP Ignacio Echeverría. I shed a tear for this man.
Brilliant homage, may his memory and energy live through everyone who knew him.
Such a moving doc. RIP to a selfless man. The skateboarding community giving him the recognition he deserves.
Wow- how highly his friends and family speak of him. Even people that weren't that close. That speaks of a really genuine, amazing character. Someone we should try to be like
I Always skate on Ignacio Echevarria skatepark because is near my house. RIP a real hero♥️
Only now I’ve heard about him. He seems like a great man. A legend really.
As a Spaniard, and as a human being, can’t be more proud of him and about the fact that such a hero was born so close to me.How much i would have loved to meet him,a true pure soul.Only the dignity and the integrity of his family can overcome the bravery of his sacrifice. All of them deserve nothing but the biggest respect and admiration.Rest in peace up there my brother,we’ll miss but you’ll ever be forgotten.
RIP Ignacio! A man of courage who didn’t hesitate to protect the life of another human.
Rest in piss
@@leaning491 you mean peace?
@@leaning491 u typo'd?
Hearing his friends share stories, sweet and funny, was really touching. They’re fortunate to have had a friend like him and I can imagine the pain of losing someone like that. With that said, I could feel the pride his community of loved ones had in him, and that’s beautiful too. Rest In Peace, Ignacio. It’s evident you were much loved.
I hope this man is never forgotten in the skating community. For all the people who hate the joy it brings so many this man used his passion to love and protect them. That’s powerful.
We love you Ignacio even if we didn't know you before this, you're a real hero! You family and friends were too fortunate for knowing you and having you in their lives as a light you was. Rest in peace now bro...
15:30 got me. She still goes to just listen and be taken back in time to good memories.
What great community he was a part of, this was heartbreaking to watch. His parents raised a real man, I hope that gives them solace and strength to cope with their loss.
Dad should be proud he raised such an amazing and selfless human being. Ignacios actions take an immense amount of courage. Rest easy homie.
My local skatepark is named after him
so is mine
That's awesome.
does it have any pics online i can look at?
My toilet is named after him
@@leaning491 haha so funny 😐🤦♂️
Most ppl would have run away... but he stayed to help.. we need more men like him to make the world a better place
Man, watching his pops break down at the end was hard to watch. He looked so proud of him, and you could tell he was such a gentle soul... I really hope they find comfort in this, Ignacio seemed like such a genuinely good person, and his parents did such an amazing job raising him
We need to remember heroes like this rather than give into the terror
This guy IS the essence of skateboarding. It's fun to watch him balance on the line of make it or break it. Rest easy, brother.
Salute to Ignacio. RIP Hero.
