- IN Todays Tattoo tutorial we go over how to Color Pack FAKE SKIN with a Mag needle. In this video again we will be using a 23curved bugpin magnum, but all the info is the same if you where to use a smaller needle grouping as well. I will show you how much needle I have hanging out of my machine and the different voltages I use. We will be making small slow circles while taking our time to ensure the color is packed well and is fully saturated. I really hope this video in conjunction with my how to tattoo play list will help you out: / playlist

Will definitely check that out. Your videos have been so helpful for me... I do have a question though; while this video covers color packing amazingly, do you have any pointers on how to avoid the black outline bleeding into your color packing on fake skin? No matter what I try, whenever I pack color on an already outlined piece on fake skin, the black outline 'bleeds' into the color, irreversibly tainting the color as I pack it. I have tried leaving overnight, wiping aggressively with vaseline and a toothbrush, letting rubbing alcohol sit on it for 20-30 min and then rubbing aggressively before color packing, and taking a hair dryer to the outline in an attempt to 'force dry' it. I can't find anything anywhere about how to avoid this, and it's frustrating af. LOL. Thanks in advance!
Thank you for the amazing videos and channel! You've really helped me take those tough first steps into tattooing. I've been an artist my whole life and am looking forward to this wonderful journey. Thank you!! Keep up the amazing work!!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Hey RELLIK thanks for sharing that, I will certainly keep putting the check mark on the titles specially if it helps the vids stand out. Thank you again brother for ALL the support you continue to send my way!!! 🤘🤘🤘🙏🙏🤘🤘🤘
Agreed!!
Also thank you for always being so interactive with us all man! Seriously I appreciate it!
Loving the new intro! I appreciate you taking the time to create these very, very informative videos. I had no idea how to tattoo and what the differences were between 3,5,7 liners, how to find the proper voltage, how deep to go (thanks to you, I now know what dermis and hypodermis is), how to get shades of one colour, and much more. I appreciate you and your videos! Keep rockin’! 🙌
Thank you soo very much JTRJ!!!! 🤘🙏🤘 I know how complicated everything can be when trying to get into this field. So its been my pleasure to help those who are trying to help them selves. Again thank you so much for your support of the channel! I wish you the best of luck as you continue down this awesome journey!!! Keep Rocking!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘

No problem I’m happy the vids have been able to help you out!! Keep at it and keep rocking!! 🤘🤘
got some steez showing on this one. i salute
I like how u showed everyone u can dip your tip like Bob Ross without cleaning out the needle every color. I use this Technique a lot in my color blending. My Fake skin in mail to your p.o. box. Brother!! Est..time Sat.!!👊✌😎
Your right toosie it’s usually much easier to just dip into the color you want to blend into instead of cleaning the needles first. And I’m gonna be out of town until Wednesday but I will certainly make sure I pick that up when I get home. Thanks again for sending it in and of course thank you again for the amazing support brother!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Olive oil works super good to clean the mats completely
You make it look so easy, when I use a magnum for color, it looks like crap, but when I use a round shader, then I no problem packing in the colors.
Thank you, you are an inspiration for me, Amazing work in this Channel🔥
Nice new intro 👍🏼your channel is super helpful, especially as I'm just dipping into colour work so to speak - would you say the CNC Q2 is a good all rounder machine? Cheers bro!
No problem I’m happy to help. And I would say the Q2 is a decent all around machine for the money. I use it every day and haven’t had any problems so far.
@@ArtSomething nice, one more question - I just got a battery pack for my machine, but it's super loud compared to the power supply, I spent about 40/50 bucks on it, is that due to my pen machine which isn't great - but is ok, or do I need to invest in a better power supply?
Love your videos!
Thank you sooo much!! Really appreciate the support!! 🤘🙏🤘
Thanks that helped a lot.
Another top class video Dave 👍👍🤘🤘 need to work on my colour work as i am shit with it 🙈🙈
Thank you!! And yeah I’m not a huge fan of color work but it’s still a good thing to learn and know.
Thank you over much
Your very welcome!! And thank you for the support!! 🤘🙏🤘
I’m finding that fake skin takes forever to pack color into and have to go over and over. Real skin looks so much easier on UA-cam videos and much more efficient since you don’t have to grind one spot over and over. Do you find that using an orange is more like real skin for replicating color packing? Ive found them to take color a lot better.
Would you say the best way of blending color is from dark to lightest, like you did in this video? I had the impression that going from lighter to darker would work best to have better control of the color blend. What do you think? Does it matter or you find going from dark to light works best?
This is so helpful. Thank you for your content!
The reason we try to go from dark to light is so that the the dark ink doesnt get wiped across the lighter ink in the skin and cause the darker ink to blend with the light ink causing a dingy look to the lighter ink. (I know this sounds confusing) But with that said it doesnt mean you HAVE to go from dark to light. There are many times I go from light to dark as it just depends upon what I am doing. I hope this makes some sense and I thank you for watching and supporting the channel!! 🤘🤘🤘
More fakeskin pls
Love the video bud keep them comeing. Did u cut your skins in half or did you find them that size?
Thank you much appreciated!! 🙏 and yeah I just cut a piece off of a bigger piece for this vid.
Hi awesome video always... what Needle mag do you use what size
Do one on maintenance on the cnc q2
Hello, I'm buying a CNC Q2 machine, what wireless power supply do you recommend? Keep doing great videos, you rock! Love from Portugal.
Great question, if you check the description of the vids you will find a link to the power supply I use. Also I have a vid about the power supply on my channel. And thank you so much for the support my friend, Keep Rocking!! 🤘🤘
I love your videos and appreciate you and what your doing here and I know this is a long shot but would you be willing to do a short vid on cartridges I just got a dragonhawk atom to start practicing with and am finding it hard to find material on what cartridges I can use with it.
You should be able to use just about any needle cartridge With the machine. If it only takes certain cartridges the manufacturer should say so.
@@ArtSomething thanks I kinda figured as much but wasnt sure
Awesome content man! Have watched most of your videos now from across the pond. I’ve recently started using a CNC Q2 (I was using a Cheyenne Thunder) and I have a battery pack for it, after a few uses and after stripping it down to disinfect, I’m having trouble getting the rear part (motor housing) to screw back in? Are you having any problems doing the same? Can’t seem to find any info and the supplier has been useless
Have you tried any products from A Pound of Flesh? I tattooed one of their hands and it was definitely the best fake skin experience I’ve had (a bit pricey though, for sure).
I have not tried that brand before however I’m planning on buying a few different brands of fake skin and putting them head to head to see what’s the best and or the best for the money. So thank you very much for sharing your experience and opinion I look forward to trying it out!!🤘🤘
I could not see well but how many milimeters is your needle sticking out of the tip for color packing?
It looks like you’re really riding the tube when doing color. Is that correct? Man that would make it so much easier but I’ve been trying to float it.
for the most part yes im ridding the tube when packing color. I try to set my needles so they are at the depth I want before I start so that im not going to deep or to shallow. It may take a few adjustments but you will get the hang of it. Its different for black and gray work as shading requires a bit more floating and what not. Hope this helps and keep at it!
Thanks for the nice video,be good,by.
No problem!! Thank you for the support!! 🤘🙏🤘
my mom got a tattoo cover up kind of but it was a purple rose witha sord through it, did you make a video about you doing it? im her daughter btw
Yes I remember that tattoo and your mother. No sorry I did not record that tattoo I do wish I would have though.
Great video brother what is your preferred fake skin
Thank you. Idk that I have a preferred fake skin as I’ve only used a few types. But the links to the kind of fake skin I use should be in the description.
@@ArtSomething thanks bud I found it 👍
Can we get a video about if there are ways to have a LEGIT licensed home studio. Is it even legal to build a small studio that isn’t attached to the house? I’ve been trying to do as much research on the laws in my province but the information isn’t all out there about private studios.
Hi i just started learning at home but why are my colors bright and once i tattoo on fake skin they are dark and blackish?
Awesome as always taught me a lot I need to know looking forward to more video I rewatch your old videos just to refresh my mind and practice.. thank you brother for the knowledge!!. Have you tried the Allegory Blck Ink??
Thank you so much and I’m glad your enjoying the content!! And sorry I haven’t tried Allegory black before.
@@ArtSomething I’ve seen a lot of artist using it and read about seems like a pretty good ink.. thinking about ordering a bottle but kind of hesitant so I asked you the best UA-camr that’s give out advises
On real skin, when I first put the needle in, I get puddles!! - any tips? (I have the cnc q2)
Puddling is somewhat normal. It can be a pain to see what you are doing but over time you will get more comfortable dealing with the ink sitting on the skin as you pack it in.
hey man great content as always love the channel, was hoping u could help me with an issue. after my linework i want to color but every time end up with muddy colors , seems the black lines mix with the color, is this something purely cuz of the fake skin or am i doing something wrong? thanks learning alot
It appears that when I practice on fake skin I can pack the color in well, but on real skin, (only mine right now! lol) when it heals the lines just fade away. I’m using a number 4 detail needle at typically 7.5 to 8 volts. It honestly looks like it’ll blow out of the machine if I go any higher in volts. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Maybe not pulling the skin enough?
Love your videos man! Can I use a $50 tattoo kit off of eBay or Amazon to start practicing
You could but it may be smarter to spend a little more now before you start. As most kits at that price point are not worth the money but that’s just my opinion.
love !
Your videos are awesome. I tried to pack in a Wu tang tatt i did on my anke last Thursday.. first time.. I messed up big time. With yellow. The needle might have been too long but i scraped the heck out of it and its still hurting. Its gna scab. Most of the yellow ink came out and didnt stay. I thot i went in deep enuf.. mayb too deep. Any thoughts? Thanks.
You have any tips for growing creativeness? It seems like every time I go to try and draw something I go blank or the only thing I can think about is cars. I also suck at drawing which is why I’m practicing drawing a bit before I pick up a machine on fake skin
I’m not supper creative but for me I’m not really good at drawing unless I have a reference to follow. So I would look up what you want to draw and use that as a reference.
@@ArtSomething okay okay I like it! I’ll try that next time I get the inspiration to draw something! Thank you
Nice logo bro👏
Thank you brother much appreciated!! 🤘🤘
What is the best colour packer machine to get?
I dont think there is a best machine for color packing as that is going to be determined by the user. But I will say this machine packs color pretty well for me.
Hey buddy what’s the angle for line work compared to shading
Hi again. I have a CNC M Q5 and I was wondering what needles to use. I currently have Hawink Tattoo Cartridge needles but I'm not having much luck with them. Please assist
You can use any needle cartridges you want as all of them should fit the machine. I like using kwadron needles but there are a lot of good brands. Best to try a few brands out and see what works best for you.
What voyage are you at
Does anyone know why when I try to pack color on fake skin I can see the tiny circles made from the needles? I'm using bigwasp 1213CM & Mast 1007RM. Tried running everywhere from 7.0 to 10. I can always see the tiny circles. Is it me? The cart? Shading is great, just not color.
Hey I have a question, how do you know the correct depth per body part? I did a small one on my foot and when it peeled it came all the way off except for a slight faded shadow. Another one I did on my leg didn’t do that. Is there any trick to know??
Pack it up. Pack it in. Now let me begin. I need a tattoo. But my finances are a sin.
I’ve just sent a fake skin where I’ve tried to pack colour in and it SUCKED! I used red, orange and yellow too.
It’s all good I’m not hear to rip anyone apart. I think it’s about building people up. So just keep at it and keep rocking!! 🤘🤘
I hate practice skin! 27 A4 sheets front and back, such a pain to pack the ink in
I couldn’t agree more fake skin is such a pain in the butt!! Good for practicing but annoying lol.
My whole body is full of tattoo like a yakuza so im not new in "having a tattoo" but now i want to be a tattoo artist but im 36yrs old. Am i to old to become a tatoo artist?
I started learning to tattoo around 30 years old and I’m almost 33 so I think your fine to start at any age. If you keep at it you will be surprised how quickly you can start to learn and what not. I’m sure most would encourage you to not start but I say your never to old to try something new.🤘🤘
41 and I started two months ago, I agree with Art-Something, I’m apprenticing in China and I don’t speak the language, daily practice and you’ll improve for sure
Fricking fake skin i think i burned a machine and almost a second one trying to pack some color, sure it wasn't the best machine but grrrr that's all I had to practice
So would you say that once you’ve practiced a lot on fake skin, real skin will be easier? People skin that is.
It should be easier then if you hadent practiced on fake skin. But the hard part is that you can blow lines out in real skin while on fake skin you can’t really blow lines out or destroy fake skin. So just be careful. But I’m sure you will figure it out. So keep at it and keep rocking!! 🤘🤘
im not feelin much sensation in my stretching hand
Yeah you should start to feel a bit of vibration in your stretching hand and over time you can gauge your depth by the feeling in your stretching hand.
The colors never look right when I try using color on my fake skin. My bright bubblegum pink looks like a dark purple and my yellow comes out brown. I've decided that it's probably my ink. 😕
Yes that was my first thought when reading this, as the ink you use matters greatly in practice and in real skin. I would take the time and get a decent brand of ink and im sure you will be happy you did.
@@ArtSomething funny enough, it was a licensed tattoo artist that sold me the ink. I asked her about it after making a color swatch, she wasn't convinced it was necessarily the ink. For the longest time, I thought it was the skin. I switched brands for my black ink, will definitely do the same for colors.
Anyone know a reliable website i can use to buy a quality machine? I stried tatsoul.com but they canceled my order and told me i needed to have it sent to a shop and prove im an artist.
yeah a lot of places only sell to professionals. with that said there are a few places that will sell. Try World wide tattoo supply or ultimate tattoo supply as they sell to the public.
Stop hold up you a marine
Yes sir served from 2007 to 2018.
Much more respect thanks you for your service hoorah
Thank you, you are an inspiration for me, Amazing work in this Channel🔥
