Hummingbirds don't look very tough, but they can get aggressive when they need food. What are your thoughts on these amazing creatures?
Amazing video.. Excellent
I just saw one for the first time in CT. I got some feeders for them
🇨🇷 High quality video edition. I love hummingbirds even when I have seen them fighting from far away, it was an amazing experience watching them in closeup thanks to Nat Geo Wild. Thank you from Costa Rica, gracias desde Costa Rica.
Wow I didn’t know hummingbirds were so aggressive. Thanks for sharing
Yeah they look cute and sweet but they can be mean little suckers!
Lisa G the Aztec considered them to be the reincarnation of mighty warriors and they were the animals that symbolized the head of the Aztec pantheon
Connor McLernon Wow that’s very interesting Connor. Thanks for the info 👍
They protecting their territory
Thanks for the quick short! Really loving the close shots and slow motion. Looking forward for more! Thanks National Geographic.
They have beaks that act as both swords and sheaths, interesting!
I live in LA, California, and the hummingbirds that come to my balcony every day are just as feisty... so that's not unique to those kinds...
But these few minutes truly have been a masterpiece. Absolutely beautiful 👌🏼
Now this is what I have been waiting for. Not some stupid beer ads or some stupid predatory loans ads.
That was beautiful! I've witnessed *many* hummingbird fights over the feeders in my backyard. They're aggressive and territorial little spitfires!!
(I've even got a video on my UA-cam channel of a female Ruby Throated hummingbird flying all around my head and camera while I was changing out one of the feeders. It was an amazing experience!)
I’m awestruck by how beautiful these birds are. Never could one have thought they are so aggressive as well, but when the question of survival is up, they have to battle or perish, I suppose. Beautiful short NGW!!!😊🙋🏻💜🦋
And YES I'M OBSESSED WITH HUMMINGBIRDS!!!
It really shows the beauty of the birds.
With my hummingbird feeder 3 hummingbirds showed up and it ended up looking like the sith fighting the rebels in starwars lol.
Oh my God this video is stunning! Thank you so much for all the slow motion shots you snapped and I don't even know how you guys got that sounds of the humming birds on point 5/5 stared! I say!
yea it was tough...but totally worth it. They are dizzying but so much fun to be around!
Another extraordinary documentary from Nat Geo. Thanks
Thank you for sharing this amazing video. I'm always in awe of hummingbirds but this brings a different dimension on how they fight to survive.
thanks for watching and you're 100% right...every time I film them i learn something new
I love hummingbirds!
me too! They are my everything
We have two feeders on our deck. We only get Ruby Throated Hummingbirds here in Massachusetts between May and Sept. The battles that they have are crazy. I sit on the deck and just watch them dogfight. They are the worlds greatest flyers.
Thank you for sharing the magnificent Creature God gave Humanity ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸
En Ticuantepe, Nicaragua mi Papa tiene una cabaña y llegan miles de estos, en Nicaragua les llamamos COLIBRIS
Stunning Footage!
Beautiful, fiery little birds! Good video!
Hummingbirds are so fascinating to look at. We're glad you enjoyed watching!
I love this video. And I love hummingbirds. I've seen them fight and they are very violent and vocal. In this video I hear alot of wing flapping but no chirping. Are Costa Riccan hummingbirds quiet when fighting?
Amazing Footage

Thank you for watching. If you need someone to narrate your life, I'm your guy.
You could have spared us the feminist pandering. This is supposed to be about science, not your politics.
Love the content. Dislike your "wildlife photographer/narrator".
