A very impressive video. Powerful and persuasive arguments eloquently expressed by both Alan Bissett and George Reid. What we need is to try to form a broad coalition that transcends current Scottish political party divisions in order to resist attempts by Westminster to undermine the authority of the Scottish Parliament.
This shows the journey we have already been on but importantly raises serious issues about our future. Thanks for this - all of us need to watch, listen and consider the issues it raises for our nation.
Yer man Bisset has two brains worth of good sense. It's great to have such a broad and thoughtful range of leaders in the YES movement. We will overcome
Brilliant. Was a huge fan of Alan for his Indyref contribution. Imo, we need to get the yes movement back again with people like Bisset, Anwar, Riddoch, McAlpine etc at the forefront, not the SNP who can be easily attacked by Unionist politicians. We can do this.
Great video with an articulate argument cant help feeling its more needing viewed by our FM than any one else. Shes the one who took the "triple locked democratic mandate "" off the table.
The only person who is stopping the referendum is the FM she has put it on the back burner despite having a triple lock. Time Alan stood for party leader.
An open and honest reflection on Scotland's failures and future possibilities. Great work, I really enjoyed watching it. I hope this video reaches not only the converted but plays to the ears of those not quite sure of what is fundamentaly happening and about to happen. I hope everyone's eyes & ears are listening and we'll heid what's tae come......
Frightening times-Scotland is seriously @risk in numerous ways, both now and in the uncertain future...Enjoyed the video, excellent points made - 2014's NO vote was the biggest mistake Scotland ever made. Hopefully we'll get another chance. But do ordinary Scots actually CARE about Scottish democracy being under threat from the British establishment? Not sure everybody does; people are more interested in watching cat videos on facebook and binge watching reality TV...
Best of luck. Share videos like this with your friends to help them see why Scotland should be democratic and Independent: ua-cam.com/video/YZYEoF-w-iQ/v-deo.html

I voted No and still proud to say I be voting no again and again until there sick to teeth with referendums I shall and always be a unionist no matter what and I voted for Brexit. It wasn't a big mistake and should respect the referendum in 2014. 🇬🇧 this is my flag and proudly flys in my garden no ones ever complained.
And that pretty much sums up the present position. A Free Scotland or No Scotland? There is clearly no longer a 'middle way' simply because the UK cannot abide compromise, for them it's "My Way or the Highway". Time Scotland took the Highroad then, high time IMO.
oh for a wider audience , if we could get a fair shake of media coverage that would swing it , and maybe waken up those proud scots , It's going to be a big disappointment for those who put union first , when they find out we are all viewed the same by most english people it is " TOTAL INDIFFERENCE " they dont give a toss , we are all viewed as foreigners , dont they get it yet .
It's indeed a lovely building, and guess what about the cost? It cost a lot of things called "Stirlings" which can be printed by the billions for a little less than a few days labour, or can be credited to bank accounts at less than the cost it takes a bank clerical worker to hit 9 keys on a keyboard. The true cost of the Scottish parliament building was the time and energy and materials it took workers to build it while they could have been usefully employed constructing schools or hospital upgrades. That's the only true cost. Was it worth it? Don't look to how many Stirling's it took, because Stirling's are practically zero cost to make. Look to how much human labour time and materials it took away from other projects.
Devolution came about to supplement, not replace Westminster. George Reid was the perfect choice as narrator to this film. The enormous chip on his shoulder makes him and his type recognisable as Nationalists, a group who will pursue their cause till Kingdom come. No good will come of it for our nation, no good whatsoever.
Brussels rules nobody you halfwit. Is France independent? Spain? Netherlands? Go back to the top of the page and actually watch the video . . . wake up.
It must be hellish. Having such a pathetically miserable life that you will click a video that you know you are totally emotionally conditioned to dislike the content of and then pretend in the comments section that you have any single issue with someone in it. My advice would be to get a life. Fill your life with things you like. Actually trying to be an ignorant arsehole is a sign of a diseased mind.
This chap George Reid has the right idea on independence but tragically misunderstands how Scotland can be propserous. Governments tax to make their currency valuable, not to pay for things. If you can issue currency as a monopoly you can pay for any damn thing that is for sale (labour and materials for social programs is what you want, and with a sovereign currency you can get as much as there is available, you can have full employment, money is never the issue, it is simply political will to want to help your people). The way money works is government makes or issues the stuff (typically by crediting bank accounts through it's monopoly power), then taxes a tiny little bit of it back to avoid inflation. Taxes do not pay for anything except for low inflation and (if progressive) for lowering wealth inequality. Scotland should declare independence and issue their own sovereign currency, then they will have all the power Bisset wants.
..and Alan Bisset. Oh lordy. Nice fellow, but WTF is the EU going to give you man? More neoliberal austerity worse than the English. You need full phrikin independence mate, and your own damn currency, not the bastard Euro. If you want free labour and trade relations with Europe you can have it by opening your borders (take a lesson from Australia and New Zealand).
It was a UK vote on the EU as it is the UK that is the member state of the EU. This is why the Supreme Court reached its decision. Nothing to do with undermining 'sovereignty'.As for your continued reference to the 'British' establishment and elite, are you trying to suggest we don't have a problem with Scottish establishment and elites ignoring the wishes of the Scottish people. We voted 'no' in 2014 to leaving the UK. That decision has never been accepted by our elite which is why the day job of decision making on behalf of the Scottish people has been badly neglected.
Just who are the elite in Scotland who won't accept the result of the referendum, in your opinion? I class "elite" as billionaires and multi millionaires who give huge amounts of money to their chosen political party and the millionaire cabinet ministers in Westminster. Can you point to any independence supporter that falls into that category and fits your description of someone who doesn't accept the 2014 result?

Like your comment. But the biggest mistake ever made in Scotland was the act of union IMO.

I got as far as Inco, that was enough for me.
Aye, Scottish independence under the jackboot of un-elected faceless EU bureaucrats, that you can't get rid off - ever. Are you kidding?
This chap George Reid has the right idea on independence but tragically misunderstands how Scotland can be propserous. Governments tax to make their currency valuable, not to pay for things. Once we get independence then we can decide upon our future. I worry that too many (including the SNP) are tying independence to membership of the EU.
It was a UK vote on the EU as it is the UK that is the member state of the EU. This is why the Supreme Court reached its decision. "We" voted NO at the time on the basis of remaining a member of the EU - this has since changed.
