Paul Simon recently had a "tell-all" interview with Howard Stern, where he revealed the motivations behind songs, why Simon and Garfunkel broke up, how he met his wife ... everything. In that same vain, maybe it shouldn't but it always amazes me to think of how Bernie Taupin and Elton John created their songs. Never together. Never in the same room or studio. Bernie would just write a poem or lyrics and Elton would put music to it.
