So many people aren't from the area here with these boats, or just moved here. PSA for anyone having to traverse jupiter on a rough day. As soon as you get out the inlet, make a hard left or right, the worst water is straight out. Watch the sand bar on the south side, it comes and goes and can get super shallow at times, if you see the waves breaking in the middle of nowhere, there's a reason. When returning do the exact opposite, but be very careful of the shoal just inside the inlet on the north side, stay towards the middle. The south side does not shoal like the north side.
I’ve ALWAYS done the left turn, cruise another couple hundred yards and then head out east! I’m retired from boating now, but I did it this way since 1973, starting out with my 10’ boat, 9.5 Evinrude O/B. Then in the boat I built in 96, 14’ 25 Evinrude tiller, day and night! Nights were kinda tricky, but after so many years of doing it, it just got to be second nature. Always made sure that the moon was out though, and it helps, believe me!
The white breaking waves seem to be magnets to these boaters. It did look like there were spots with big (but at least not breaking) waves that would be a far better route choice.
3 stages to a wave 1 Swell 2 Crest/breaking 3 Broken / rolling 1 doesn’t matter 2 dangerous powerful and life altering (1st clip) 3 makes you wet but doesn’t break things Timing is everything.
A G W has a great reputation as a solidly built well designed boat. It is scary when folks put their equipment and themselves is such situations. A lot of equipment wouldnt be as forgiving.
The light blue HCB 42 Siesta @2:35? I noticed that too, it looked very smooth taking the waves. Grady’s are known for that and are my favorite boat to drive in rough seas for that reason, but I just added the HCB to that shortlist as well.
If unfamiliar with an Inlet stay away from breakers and maybe hold back until a commercial boat or fishing boat goes out and just follow their line. Same with coming back in, follow an experienced Captain or your track on your GPS going out.
I think the unknown center console is an old Goldline. Real wide beam and used by a lot of commercial bait guys, which that boat appeared to be setup for as well.
The unknown boat looks like an old small Mako Center Console also those symmetrical hulled fishing catamarans are so Superior in heavy waves to a monohull
It is possible that the Grady owner wanted to see what his boat could handle and or was showing someone what a Grady White can take. Boat never rolled or broached. Agree that he should have made a turn at the end of the inlet vs going straight. Lesser boats would not have done what this Grady did.
Why he went back to the center of the inlet is baffling. I’m really surprised no body was seriously injured. Those waves were surfable. Some of the other boats did the same thing. It’s like they can’t help themselves.
As the captain of any boat you are responsible for the safety of your boat and the passengers on board. Going through an inlet is no time to be a jerk.
cant believe no life jackets . because im sure they have an idea its rough boating thru that inlet . and i wonder how many collers and gear gets tossed over board daily and yearly
I prefer Catamarans (powercat) to see in rough water ! I need a lot of Freeman 37/42 and Invincible! Monohull have more loading capacity , more closed space under , if un need a bath or a sleeping room you need monohull! Catamarans offer better behaviour and comfort in rough sea! When you fishing at low speed they roll less. If you need a daily boat and dont care to piss hanging CAT are the way
Only during strong tides. Large volume of water passing through narrow openings. Plus, boat owners in Jupiter are just as bad as Miami. Alot of wealthier people that just have no idea what they are doing, and must do "nothing" faster than anybody else.
East wind and outgoing tide. Jupiter is narrow and shallow and the current is very fast moving, when the current meets the wind and waves from the east wind the waves can get big. There's moving shoal on the north side inside the inlet and a sometimes sand bar just outside the inlet to the south. Many people have died here.
@@8180634 gotcha. Very interesting and also very crazy! I wonder why they don't build a break wall just in front of it to possibly help. It's done here on Lake Michigan outside of the harbor mouths to get to the main lake. East winds can kick up 6+ft waves fast. Lake Michigan acts like an ocean in many ways. Thanks for the info
There is a shallow spot that creates very steep waves. He should have went further south to avoid that spot. He can also watch the waves to cross during a calmer set of waves. He just sent it.
got to tell ya... I'm on the west coast, and I have never been on the east coast ever. but I have never seen sooo many boats with multiple outboards in my life as I do in videos like these.. the MONET alone is astounding in these rigs...
Depends on where you are on the west coast. I see a lot in southwest Florida with multiple engines. It’s the smart thing to do especially with the long hauls for anything resembling an offshore fish.
It's amazing when a state doesn't tax people to death how the economy is able to produce incomes capable purchasing and maintaining such great machines
Boats that big, 40+ feet can be tricky to dock even with 4 engines especially if you're trying to "paralell park" at a dock with only a few feet of clearance on each end. I do shake my head when I see the bow thrusters on 30-35 footers with twin engines but not on a 40+ footer.
I have a bowtruster on my 35, it's not needed but nice to have, especially when working against the wind. I want walk the boat sideways fairly quickly.

All I read was another reason the ocean scares the shit out of me. 😂
How about just not go out in this mess.
@@KH-qv8tk it really isn’t though. Once you’re passed the surf, the conditions can be exceptionally better.
Those Gradys are some pretty tough boats.
I know a guy who busted one. He never slowed for anything. They're tough up to a point.
OMG! That 1st one almost flipped over. What awesome video footage. Really enjoy watching your videos
Glad you're enjoying it!
Good driver that knows what they are doing. HEAD ON
Great job

Grady White making the 252 proud.

1 Swell

1 doesn’t matter

Timing is everything.
Craigslist - Grady White, very clean, no fractures or hull cracks, no loose bolts, never flooded with water on waves
A G W has a great reputation as a solidly built well designed boat. It is scary when folks put their equipment and themselves is such situations. A lot of equipment wouldnt be as forgiving.
I'm a newbie to this area and this is my egress to the ocean. I picked up a scarab 28' excel. It's beige and red - hope you see me here !
I definitely thought the KCB was the smoothest ride of all these. Grady White is one of my favorite boat brands, though.
The light blue HCB 42 Siesta @2:35? I noticed that too, it looked very smooth taking the waves. Grady’s are known for that and are my favorite boat to drive in rough seas for that reason, but I just added the HCB to that shortlist as well.
Thumbs up for not click baiting. Subed well done
Grady white boats are the best
@1:57 The owner may want that for a poster. That was an oh shit moment.
Getting it Grady style!

The top half of that wave broke over the bow of that Grady! Scary stuff

Thank God they were on a heavy boat like a Grady White.
WOAH !!! That was an amazingly lucky break!
Great Shot !
Thanks! I'll be filming all weekend, should be lots of action.
crop that clip.
Livin' knows how to get those views. Crop the CLIP!!
Impressive! Give a credit to Grady White! Just need a new captain!
Grady is the boat that all the guys who are new to boating want
@@Eric-zs6rd How is that? Is it because they ride well
Seavee with triples is the way to go !
those guys must really love boating lol.
Oh ! Oh ! Rodeo time !!! 👀😎
Hey Marino, glad you found our Jupiter Inlet channel! - Wavy
Damn they really wanted to go fishing
It is possible that the Grady owner wanted to see what his boat could handle and or was showing someone what a Grady White can take. Boat never rolled or broached. Agree that he should have made a turn at the end of the inlet vs going straight. Lesser boats would not have done what this Grady did.
If you see an HCB go back because of that you gotta know it's a hell of a day offshore
amazes me to see that no one wears a life vest/jacket. Not even children, kinda crazy
Why he went back to the center of the inlet is baffling. I’m really surprised no body was seriously injured. Those waves were surfable. Some of the other boats did the same thing. It’s like they can’t help themselves.
Hold my beer kids, I think I can do this.
Tom Hanks had the same problem when he was a castaway. I can't believe you found the place he was stranded
at 6:29 the boat is an Aquasport if it hasn't been already recognized.
That unknown looks like an Aquasport to me.
I went out and in that endless so many times I can't even count them all over 40 years
Wow impressive footage. thanks for posting. What camera set up are you filming with? ask for a friend

I keep watering my 145' Jon with a 25 hp Suzi hoping it will grow. Maybe one day.
The small center console looks like an older aquasport.
You get what you pay for, the saying goes as old as time, Gradys are unsinkable. Just living up to its reputation.
Can you get the drone out there to get some of this footage? How far from where you are standing are the boats?
Unknown center console returning looks like an older Shamrock with an outboard on bracket??
How big was this boat? 19 ft., 21 ft. or 25 ft.?
How often is Jupiter Inlet this rough? Is there a daily report on the danger status of the inlet?
Mr. White had a tuff day... Bet there's more than salt water to clean up after...
They’re out on a three hour tour.
I hope they made it back and didn’t end up like those two boys that disappeared in the ocean six years ago.
"Honey how was the fishing today ?" Oh not bad, but I had a little accident in my pants.😁
And that’s why you go hard south before going north out of Jupiter folks
For as I am concern it handle very well
Wow scary!!! Mother Nature is no joke !!
Jupiter Inlet has been rough lately. Got more great video today.
It was twin 400 mercury not twin 400 Yamaha on the race boat
Can’t believe the motors were running after all that
Must have turbo on his bilge pump LOL
Is it just the tide and wind causing the inlet to be so rough? Does the ocean floor rise up quickly just outside the inlet?
I can watch scenes from Florida until I feel too sad.
Exactly.
I prefer Catamarans (powercat) to see in rough water ! I need a lot of Freeman 37/42 and Invincible!

No way!
Cats tend heel less but when you slam they rattle your damn fillings out. At least a monohull will blade and slice rough waves a lot better.
The key is ...Pick Your Days. Bad day to go head on in a little boat into breakers. lol
Head sea is entertaining to watch , a following sea will take your life.
the Grady got some dangerous air good thing it's such a heavy boat you didn't note the length do you know?
Looks like 25'
Why even take a boat out in that weather?
Best times for a NON moron
How did they not fly out
Scary stuff
Unknown boat with Suzuki was an aquasport
All these center consoles are boring looking. Do these many fishing charters exist down there or is it more of a status thing?
That's some really tuff waters on the east coast of Florida
I don’t live in Florida so can someone explain to me why these inlets are so violently wavy? That’s pretty disgusting waves to have to get through.
Only during strong tides. Large volume of water passing through narrow openings.
Plus, boat owners in Jupiter are just as bad as Miami. Alot of wealthier people that just have no idea what they are doing, and must do "nothing" faster than anybody else.
Certain times and conditions they get nasty. When they are nice the video are not as fun to watch so you don't see them as much.

Jeez. Hammer down (lady I think) Captain get out of there. They’re just cruisin’ along la de da.
And not a one wearing life jackets
Tough condition leaving the inlet life jackets are advisable
Many people have died in this inlet, some caught on video and in on youtube.
Florida man dont need no life jacket!
Ask me how i know?
I feel like one day I will see my self
Guys..Excuse my ignorance BUT, what did the Grady White captain do wrong to end up Saluting the High Seas??
Change of Shorts Required, for sure. ;)
There is a shallow spot that creates very steep waves. He should have went further south to avoid that spot. He can also watch the waves to cross during a calmer set of waves. He just sent it.
He’s lucky he had the water in the bow so he didn’t stuff the stern.
Unknown boat is an Aquasport.
Can't mistake that beautiful sheer line.
Thanks!
It isn't always like this, been through there dozens of times.
Did that guy go out the wrong way or something? That was crazy. They were either laughing or panicking after that near disaster. Geez
I just don’t understand I feel like they can fix the inlet or no?
Like drain the water off the top of the waves? Maybe?

We like running far offshore and running to the to Bahamas. Running 45mph you can get to the Bahamas in just over an hour.
hey, I get it... but man, 3, then 4 outboards.... my GOD......

Unknown....maybe a refinished Aquasport
Been through this one ....goes from calm to 6-8 ft quick
I guess taking my unpowered 11 foot styrofoam Kool sailboat through there is out of the question?
You can take it out on a calm day and be alright. Check the weather reports first.
With 4 engines & 1200 - 1600 HP do you really need a bow thruster?

Well damn i'm really surprised that nobody went airborne off that forst boat Damn it i'm clumsy as hell I would of went full send off that boat😤😂😂
Have you ever run a boat???
It just amazes me that no one has a PFD on!!!
Almost did this myself about two or three dozen times
I would just find a different place to live and boat......simple. And I’ve been boating over 40 years
Unknown boat looked like an aquasport 222
I bet they had to get out their change of clothes so they could put on some clean pants. lol.
He's going to need a bigger boat!
There was a skiff that went out the same day. Gotta learn where the sandbar is.
Grady white 257 fishermen with twin 150 or 200
There had to be people hurt on that boat
Lost my phone! 😲
There was definately some lost gear with that hit.
Lost the fishing poles!
Catamaran time and again.
You wouldn’t catch me dead without a life jacket going through this inlet without a life jacket…sexy swim suit be damned-coffins aren’t as sexy
If I’ve also got to fly while riding in a boat then I’m out!
Why would anyone in that size vessel be willing to but peoples lives in jeopardy?
