In terms of a used RS vs a new ST (which we don't get in America :() Used RS every day of the week. Because its used, depreciation has already set in, which increases the performance value of the car. And then there is the handling with the AWD system. The AWD system in the RS is unmatched by any other AWD system in any hot-hatch. I have never been in a car that simply knows how to put the power down no matter how ham fisted you are with the shifter. No car I've ever driven, or been a passenger in can bomb through back roads at speeds that are frankly terrifying. So what kind of negatives do we have? Fuel Economy. These numbers are US MPG btw. The RS is a pig in comparison to the same generation ST. Using data from Fuelly, the average Focus RS comes in around 21mpg, while the ST comes in around 26mpg. Its 5mpg worse on average for most people. This mirrors my own experience with my 2013 Focus ST, vs both my 2016 Focus RS (RIP) and 2017 Focus RS (long live the king). The ride. i can'r beleive Paul still has no idea how finance works and thinks a low monthly payment means its a good deal, totally regardless of the balloon being massive !, learn abiout finance before you talk about it and stop making out things are a good deal when you are 'renting' a car for 3k down and 300 per month !!!
@@martinofleeds errrrr, educate you in that what you actually pay is a combination of deposit, monthly payments and balloon, and this is affected by the % APR. Just a low monthly doesn't mean it's a good deal.
@Tuna Can indeed, but that's the whole point that Paul never covers, PCP is basically renting the car for the combined value of the deposit and the monthly payments. You don't own anything, you just borrow it for that combined sum. He should really mentioned the cost to 'rent' each car over 3 years, taking into account the APR etc, but not paying the balloon. So what would actually come out of your bank account over 3 years for each car.
@@ruairicorbett1 hmmm, think you are missing the point. We are not talking about convenience, we are talking about costs !, BMW for example offer PCP deals at 12%, even taking into account how PCP works that's way more expensive that borrowing at 3% (sainsbury bank loan for example) you need to realise, PCP was not created to save consumers money !!!!, its about selling cars for manufacturers and making money for the finance companies!. If you want to throw money away under the illusion that you have a good deal because this guy said it was then go ahead and don't look into what the numbers actually mean 😁😁, but Paul should explain the numbers better with what actually comes out of someone's pocket rather than the smoke and mirrors of PCP that lures people into thinking is a bargain !

Lol 😂
Ones a daily and the others a toy, I used to daily my mk1 frs and im at the stage id rather have a mk8 fiesta st and have fun everyday rather than worry about the damn thing being nicked or breaking and not being able to get bits.
i can'r beleive Paul still has no idea how finance works and thinks a low monthly payment means its a good deal, totally regardless of the balloon being massive !, learn abiout finance before you talk about it and stop making out things are a good deal when you are 'renting' a car for 3k down and 300 per month !!!
Educate us then.............
I don't think you understand how this type of finance works and the advantages of using it if you don't want to keep the car long term
Apperently the r.s engine is pretty much in the new st now they've discontinued the st now.
I love ford cars but the best is the Rs mk2 😍😍😍😍
Tony is busy lately....should have his own items !
I’ll take an RS over the ST all day all night. Better looks, drives wat better, quicker & even went up in prices for the last months.
Sem Meijer in my opinion both looks hideous.. I don’t really like chav cars
Who'd have thought, the RS is a better proposition than the ST.
This vid could have been posted mid week how much is paul paying sb race engineering to take as long as possible to put his lambo back together next lambo update I've sold my lambo
I think the new st is a damn good bargain for all the little things it has, but the looks on the inside and out don’t do it for me.
Funny how the price of focus rs hasn’t changed since this video
Cars to match the quality of this channel.
JayLaw tenner says you don’t drive or it’s a leased M series.
These guys a right pair!
You’d be stupid not to buy the RS
One thing to say here. Ford was stupid for not offering the 19 in the US.
Black, White, Stealth Grey or even Red, sod Orange £30k extra for a colour! ..But Baby Blue in a RS Nah!!
Fords and Hyundai mentioned in first few minutes. This is a shopping car channel not a super car channel.
What do you drive then you bloody weapon
@@dylanwakley2553 it's a supercar channel!!! The clue is in the name......
Paul talking up the finance deal then finishes it off by saying that 50% of the purchase price has to be paid at the end lmao
If you "hoon" it, it won't be worth 16k in 3 years.
