I'm surprised you didn't mention the ride. Around my city of Nottingham's broken roads, it's shocking. But as you say, on my business lease, I'm saving a fortune on running costs, so you kind of forgive it. PS. You're also dead right about the wipers. Forget auto mode, just use the fixed speeds and you have a chance of seeing where you're going.
Yeah the ride is pretty terrible at low speeds, especially on our broken roads. If it were as expensive as rivals, we’d draw more attention, but as you say, the value is its biggest plus.
@ please can you do a mini review of how the new summon and auto park works with the sensor less cars if possible. Sorry not sure if you’re in the Uk. Thanks for the initial review, I enjoy your channel
We are UK based, this is a press vehicle though so we no longer have access to it to do a further video, we would have to arrange another loan and I'm not sure their PR team would consider it a good use of their budget to give us another car for a week just to demonstrate the summon feature
So over 'driver's car' boy racers talking about everything that doesn't turn public roads into a racetrack as an 'appliance'. The only person who enjoys driving in a driver's car, is the driver.
The appliance comment has nothing to do with it not being a drivers car, which we would never expect it to be. It’s because it’s completely devoid of any soul which other cars in class can now provide.
@ to me the Y is like the modern day VW Beetle, even has some similarity in looks. Hugely functional, with a sense of humour, integrated brilliantly with its charging network and software, suspension to try to maximise both performance and comfort of passengers. Power if you want it, huge storage, some off-road capability, even brilliant for camping. And I don’t own one, but I can see why it’s the biggest selling car in the world, it manages to tick all sorts of boxes other cars don’t, or do but across about 3 different cars. That’s soul for me, it’s like the peoples’ car.
Have you ever driven a Beetle? Because it’s none of those things. We said it has a lot of positives, but it also has a lot of negatives. The price is the only reason this sells as well as it does. Most people are choosing it because it’s so much cheaper per month than its rivals, rather than because it’s a Tesla.
@ I’ve driven multiple Beetles. Terrible handling, not much power. But fun. Always fun. The Model Y is not a cheap car unless you lease it, in some countries. A lot of people who own it aren’t leasing it. The Y works because it manages to be a family car, with performance, some off-road capability, lots of sense of humour, miles of storage space, superb sound system, great multimedia, big open sky views. Like a Swiss Army Knife of cars. (I’m also an engineer, and find most of what enthusiasts classify as a good car not particularly relevant to the full complexity of motoring.)
And where they buy it, it’s still because it’s the cheapest. While I don’t agree with all of your positives, which of this cars rivals wouldn’t it apply to as well? They all have all that stuff you just mentioned. Jasper is an engineer and he’s more bothered that the trim is coming off after 3,800 miles on the odometer.
The stupid turn the wheel fast to make the car wobble maneuver was just dumb and pointless… Every car in this category would do the same or worse. What does that proof? That a family SUV is not a sports car with race track suspension? No kidding. And that wasn’t even the performance version with track mode enabled. But let’s quickly compare it to another performance model in completely different price range… In other news you might find out that a hearse is not comparable to a Porsche…
Why are you so upset? We only said it didn’t drive as well as a Mach-e (which is true) and that we wouldn’t buy any of the cars in this class other than the Ioniq 5N.
@ which Mach-E trim drives better? And if you care so much about the drive just get a performance version… the whole video and your attitude in it is just weird and off putting. Is the model Y perfect? Not by any means. Is it the best selling vehicle and the best deal for your money? For sure. Nothing is perfect, everything has tradeoffs. You don’t need to be nit picky and pity to point out the few minor flaws while coming to the same conclusion. Another surprising thing is how you guys missed the biggest advantages model y has over the competition: efficiency and technology. I guess you are “drivers” and these details are irrelevant to you… meanwhile if you really wanted to focus on driving experience you could’ve at least picked a performance trim
All Mach-e ‘trims’ drive better. It has a better chassis. Driving experience is just one of many important factors and is not the be all and end all. While faster in a straight line, the Performance trim isn’t that much better in the corners because of the lacking in chassis, suspension and brake tuning over the standard models. So by your logic, we can say the car isn’t perfect, but we can’t say why? It’s not ‘nit picking’ to point out flaws which none of its rivals have, it’s our job. We mentioned both efficiency and technology, neither of which are irrelevant to us. Please can you tell us why, in your little cult, everything has to be binary? It’s either the best car ever, no questions asked, or you don’t know what you’re talking about and you’re just a Tesla hater who’s biased with an agenda. Now that’s weird.
Model Y performance model is a beast to be reckoned with. Also absolutely awful review from 2 people who have no idea about the car. Door handles being slow to open wtf ???? You want the boot door to open more wtf ?????? Camp mode you DONT need to buy wtf ???? Stupid electronic door release. Why is it stupid?????? Switch gear doesn't feel nice wtf do you want it to do ?? 1) No it isn’t 2) Yes we do 3) It was demonstrated in the video. They are too slow and awkward to operate. 4) So I can stand under it without hitting my head, yes. 5) when did we say you did need to buy it? 6) Because it doesn’t work all the time 7) We want it to feel like it isn’t made from melted down wheelie bins 8) We didn’t say anything to the contrary 9) No it isn’t
We review and like a lot of new EVs. This car has better rivals. If you can’t accept a single criticism of the car, that says an awful lot about you, and it isn’t good.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has noticed how poorly calibrated Tesla headlights are! Their beams are wayyyyy too high.
It’s definitely a problem
Well, let’s hope they can fix that problem in their redesign in the coming year :)
They haven't on the redesigned 3 so we're not holding much hope for them
I thought there was a way we can manually adjust the height of the headlight?
@lucasroper46 beams completely fine on mine and are easily recalibrated
Once the facelift comes out it will be substantially better in build quality , ride and refinement and sell even more than it does now.
Let’s wait and see

4:08 Was that Harry making a cameo? Missed the fun he usually brings to the trio
It was! Don’t worry, he’ll be back on Sunday!
It just got smart summon and auto park yesterday in UK
Good for you
@ do a new review plz
What do you mean ‘do a new review’

I'm likely buying a model y performance. I appreciate you just trash talking it the whole time. Puts the hype into perspective. Keep it up!
You’re welcome
Was this a press car?
Yes
When mom buys you a camera to start a UA-cam channel but she makes you include your little brother….

The best drivable fridge money can buy.
As long as you lease it 😉
@@BuckleUpShowwhy would you lease it?
To protect yourself from depreciation
@@BuckleUpShow you are paying the depreciation of a car when you lease it 😭💀 and after the lease is done you own nothing
You pay much less than depreciation if you lease it in current markets. Why would you want to own something that depreciates so quickly?
Not the most informed review imo.
If watched until the end, you’d know it was actually the best review of the Model Y ever conducted.
Easily the most amateur review I've ever seen

@@BuckleUpShow gathered your review is to just hate on tesla instead of a professional review. Good luck with your channel
Why would Tesla lend us a car for us to hate on? It’s called having an opinion. We know they don’t allow those in your little cult.

Yes
But beautifully formed.
