I was looking for a way to extend my turret power duration in a cave, down the bucket. You provided just that :)
One of the best electrical guides i've seen, helped me keep power to my turrets after raiders destroyed my main battery. Thanks so much!
I have a circuit that goes beyond battery backup. It’s in the Fortify workshop posted last night. Basically, it automatically reroutes power from other circuits when your primary defense circuit loses power and has battery backup. Check out the circuit in the workshop!
exactly what i was looking for!
Great video man. It’s just what I was looking for to have backups in my cave base. Thank you 🎉
No problem 👍 glad it helped
Thank you brother, been hunting this circuit for a while!
nice bro was wanting to learn this for a bit keep up the good work!
Hey, as soon as i run the power from the first branch to the block passthrough the power in on the blocker goes to zero. Everything is fine until that point. Any ideas?
Sorry for the slow reply and you've probably worked this out by now. Any active power source going into the side of the blocker will stop the power inputs pass through from the bottom.
Thanks for this video. Could u just go straight from the battery to a root combiner from differnt power sources?
Not sure what you mean - if you're asking if the different power sources can act as a backup, you need to question whether those power sources will still be there if your base is being attacked.
if that's not what you mean, please clarify 👍
@friendnotfoe ya I usually will run 2 or 3 powers sources (aka batteries). In different rooms while using root combiners to power system. So if 1 battery is destroyed u have backup still feeding power. Which usually keeps batteries charged atleast till I get on to fix. However ur way if more efficient. But then u have an extra power source that isn't being used unless ur raided. Tho my way u have to producer alot more then ur needs.
Yeah, insee. There's always a compromise to be made with backup power. Just need to choose the method that suits your build.
just found your video, works like a charm, how would you set up the smart switch?
Can this be done with a backup generator to kick in instead of the battery?
I'm pretty sure you could, you'd need a way to trigger the on switch when power goes on the main power source though... I'd have to play about with that to be sure.
Great tutorial. Congratulations. This colored light you are using, i can´t find it in any tech tree. Is it a mod?
Those are in a DLC. Couple of bucks in the store.
This circuit has problem : when main battery discharges the circuit will start constant switching between main and secondary battery
I think most people’s primary use for a backup battery is for when raiders destroy the primary battery.
Why have rust made it so difficult

Not sure what that means, but thanks for the comment.
