Good stuff, James! The travel tripod is a good one. I currently use Manfrotto, a light one for travel and a hefty one for more pro use... that big one also holds our big Vanguard spotting scope we use to look at the birds in our garden. I am tourist first, so my priority is small and portable, how good can I get it? I use the hip bag "Case Logic Era DSLR/Mirrorless Camera Bag" and in there I can fit the R7 with 18-150 RF-S or the R8 with the 28mm pancake. For family and party I use the Peter Hadley Las Vegas 200 blue holding the R8 with the EF 24-105 f/4 L on adapter. It holds extra batteries, cards, a polarization filter and a lens cleaning cloth. I choose the lens I will use and that is it for the day. I may bring a mini tripod. I use the Smallrig mini tabletop tripod (3033), which no longer is on sale (too good?). I do this because I actually end up using it. Anything more cumbersome I tend to leave at home, which is not useful. I may also fit the R8 with RF-S 18-150 in the Case Logic. The R8 will crop to a bit over 9 Mpix, but the zoom reach is very useful and on the R8's sensor the pictures are bright, sharp, with beautiful color. Less than a third of the R7's pixels, but if you don't need the cropping or the finest detail, the pictures look better than those with the R7.
@JamesReader I dont think Samsung will fit in it. Chipolo tag might possibly fit in. But I am not sure if that, too, will give a ring and notification to the holder of the tag when moved. Or you can manually disarm the apple tag speaker by manually hurting the structure of the speaker 😉😉. But no guarantee... if it might work.

good work james
Thank you Mahmoud! Happy holidays!
Apple tag gives notification to the burglars with its cute little ring ring.. So I use Samsung tag now..
Ahh that’s good to know. Haven’t tried any of the other manufacturers tags. I wonder if the Samsung one would fit in the Smallrig plate
