Hi guys, this video is about some unique, strange facts about Shillong which i got to know when i visited Shillong and if you like it please like, comment, share and subscribe to my channel and hit the bell icon for further notification.
Shillong is blessed with great food , great culture and people. Meghalaya is a wonderful state in Northeast India with so many beautiful places, lakes, waterfalls , cleanest village in asia ( Mawlynnong village ), cleanest river ( Dawki river ), living root bridges and dangerous treks which can make you fall in love with it.
Life is really tough in this time of chaos and pandemic , i hope it gets back to normal again till then each of us must take all necessary precautions and stay optimistic.

@@chillinwithlu2557 remember bro when it comes to garo all the powers are given to her uncles (mama) you will have no power. Theres a quarrel between you two the uncles will interfere if they dont want you as a son in law they have power to kick you out of the family and cut ties with you. You a husband will never have any power over property or over your family. If you cheat on her after marriage you will have to face all her uncles and vice versa. So think thrice before you think twice before marrying a garo girl.
People eat paan not because of abundance but because of the cold weather.....it helps keep us warm.
Try visiting Shillong in the month of Jan, we experience chilling and freezing winter👍

People should know difference between Tamul and pan,
Pan is sweet tho😁
Not all people here love to eat pan actually there's a legend behind it for us Khasi why we ate pan if people from here give u pan take it doesn't matter u eat it or not it's a symbol of respect love and friendship that's what we do here even if we don't have anything to give u we'll give you pan

We went to Shillong Meghalaya in 2019 I didn't know that tourist are not allowed to see Shillong point Indian government should allow us who were born in Meghalaya but live abroad to have special permission to enter. I miss my Motherland Meghalaya. Thanks for the video

Come to umkhoi canyon truely it will blow your mind cz there's a lake on the top of the cliff and also a jaw dropping waterfall called shumshum waterfall.. location; umkhoi, mawkynrew way to nongjrong viewpoint

I'm from Shillong. Grandad is from Mawlynnong. Schooled in the best Educational Institution (Pine Mount School) in the Northeast. I'm blessed to get a touch of everything good here. But I want to emphasize here regarding the weather -- Well, I proudly say and hoping that everybody staying in Shillong agrees to the fact that we are blessed with great weather!! Summer or Winter, both are bearable,,, summers don't heat up like that in the cities 🔥 and winters don't snow here. Therefore, a reminder to everyone to respect nature and nature itself will do the same ☺

First things first- you feel safe, right? I mean you didn't get any weird look from men when you walk around the streets!
Cus, I witnessed this outside of ma state, (am not praising ma NE) but men wud stare at women like they would just wana eat them up like cannibals!

Wrong, while my way to mawlynnong I was walking in a street with my husband than suddenly one guy came and he touched my hand and to the limit trying to touch my thigh, than my husband scolded him and he ran away
Second experience I would also like to share while walking towards sacred Grove some small boys took off their pants and doing inappropriate actions towards me, and these two incidents shook me from inside i was really scared for dayz

We do not say pan like normally north Indian people would say . Here, in actual Pan is called as 'Tympew' (leaves) & how you say 'guwa/tamul' for betel nut is 'Kwai' in Meghalaya.
It being everywhere, is solely due to the fact that it is grown as a potential commercial crop.
