    I have no idea why someone would thumb down a free educational video on UA-cam.
    Guys, Titan & his team are teaching, being helpful, & showing what it takes.
    Be nice
    It's free
    It's helpful
    It's educational
    And it's the future of our industry.

    Despite my best efforts to bounce ideas off Mr. Gilroy, I haven’t been able to since I’m sure he’s flooded with messages constantly from fans. I am a fan of his work but I have shared best level material removal approaches and calculations. I often, and confidently take cuts on aluminum using and steel doing full depth (up to 3xD) at over 50% engagement cuts at reduced speeds but with tremendous material removal rate that exceed those he has demonstrated with high end machines. I freelance and help shops with hopes to inspired them by showing them how to do what I do but my network is small and is far from lucrative. I’m not much of a business man but I am a passionate and technical machinist that has been trying to simplify feeds and speeds for everyone. Hope I can get a shout out at some point for what I’ve been campaigning for over a year now.

    We ran one these in same program as we do for a Niagara endmill and nearly blew it up ramping. We had reduced the ramp to Kennametal's spec and it just about blew up. Plugged up ramping at 4deg. May be cheaper but we remove way more metal with the NIagara.

    Morning coffee with some cool machining videos! Nice! I got Doosan Lynx, Pumas and DNM's in my shop and we love them! Easy to install UR robots and aftermarket CNC Autodoors on them. They come with 5 extra m-codes already on them! I would love to see a deep boring guide on the lathes... I'm currently trying to do a 26" deep bore on a puma 5100 (2 ops), and a tips and tricks video would be helpful...

    My cnc mill has only 1 kw and no internal coolant. 12mm (1/2) inches dia and 12mm depht maximum for full slot and max speed is 50in/min... This part will fit the entire range of the mill and around 2 hours to rough... luckily my mill is "decent" cheaper than the Doosan. Thanks for the tipps, they improve my Work to, but my numbers are a little bit smaller :-) Keep on Working!

    Would you ever be interested in doing an in depth video explain who you setup the second operation for a part like that? Something more directed to small shop that don't fancy holders and such. Anyone can machine side one, it accurately flipping and indicating the part in, (quickly and without breaking the bank) that makes or breaks shops.

    When you take away all that material, how do you make shure that the material is not bending because of the tension in the material
    Is it aluminum tooling plate? (Don’t know how you guys call that in the states, it is like molded)

    • @gredangeo
      @gredangeo 3 роки тому

      This part is great to demonstrate the endmill doing that style of toolpath. But if I had to do a bunch of these parts. That gigantic block is going on a fixture plate, to bolt down. No vice compression. All of that excess material on the lower right, and left corner, will be removed as a solid piece. Don't have to spend all that endmill time cutting through it. After a few dozen parts at a time, it would be worth the fixture and bolts. The second op looks like it's gonna need a fixture anyways. So there should possibly be a way to have a single plate, do both ops in the first place.

    Hi Titan,
    Most of building blocks course you used Fusion 360 for drowning and programming, but in aerospace projects you use a Mastercam. Why Mastercam? What better for biginner?

    • @marouanebenderradji137
      @marouanebenderradji137 3 роки тому

      mastercam can do more complex toolpaths and is more capable overall also the mynx that he has won't be programmed in fusion 360 at least not efficiently you have to post each operation and glue the code yourself and hope that you didn't make a mistake but mastercam is far more expensive than fusion 360 but for a beginner it doesn't matter the most important thing is the phelosephy of machining you need to understand why we applied this toolpath and not another and why we are doing it this way not the other just like he said in this video they are roughing inside pockets first because they need the regidity to run them aggressively and than rough the outside gently since there isn't a lot of air cutting compared to the pockets this kind of machining strategy understanding is the golden fruit that you should have watching these videos and touring shops and than you can learn any program and I advice that you use both of them and challenge yourself to be comfortable with both softwares and listen to the story of tyson and how he became the lathe man in his shop than you'll further understand what I am saying ua-cam.com/video/z_I1JdPZgpo/v-deo.html
