A Big Band for Wes is a project by Alessio Menconi that was born with the intention of paying homage to the genius of Wes Montgomery more than 100 years after his birth, with orchestral formations and large ensembles.
Active in the world of jazz guitar for more than 30 years, great expert of jazz guitar and the style of various guitarists including Montgomery, Menconi offers a repertoire of the American guitarist combining the great sound of tradition and the personal and modern influences matured during his long concert and recording career .

Considered to be one of the greatest guitarists in the World by many of his peers, fans, and various press, born in Genoa, Alessio Menconi began his
career as a professional guitar player at the ripe old age of 16. Alessio has collaborated with many celebrated musicians such as Paolo Conte, Billy
Cobham, Jeff Berlin, Jimmy Cobb, was invited to record an album with Robben Ford, Steve Lukather, Hiram Bullock, Larry Coryell and hasperformed in theatres and jazz festivals in over 40 countries recording also over 50 records. Names like John McLaughlin, Pat Martino,Robben Ford, have all spoken highly of him.
Winner of various awards such as "Gran Prix duJazz"
,"Jazz Lighthouse Award" and Italy’s most prestigious “National Jazz Guitar”

Anche io ho apprezzato al primo impatto l'effetto timbrico della chitarra. Gradevole comunque il lavoro di tutta la band.
