Repair Of A 1937 Philco 37 610 AM SW Tube Radio

Here's another Philco 37-610 That was radio 2 of 2 that was sent in. Lets see what it needs fix the issues so we can get it back to the owner.

According to Radio Attic Archives, Philco made 2 different cabinets for the 37-610.

I have revived this same model and was working great after re-capping. Now the power/tone switch is intermittent and does not always power off when in off position. Switch started to smoke even through dim bulb tester and have that awful smell . Any idea as to the problem please?

I have a 37-610 label says it and same design must be right!! Not touched and plays nice!!!!
