Metacognition in the Mid and Hindbrain

This episode delves into the surprising mid and hindbrain abilities to monitor and control some of our most basic autonomic functions. The ability to bring consciousness to bear in what are generally subconscious biological activities suggests the ability for advanced metacognitive judgments of monitoring and controlling to occur outside of consciousness.
