Hi Ash I grind my dhal with food processor to get the perfect texture and smooth make sure the dhal boil not soft must cook little hard so it will be dry also in Guyana we put grind garlic and pepper with geera into the grind dhal mixture also I wrap every roti individual that way it doesn’t dry out and yes I’m cooking roti for so long now and still I can’t get it round I always watch other people make it so perfect but not me

My Guyanese gyal friend, Merry Christmas to you and your loving family! - Question - you sure about your mesurement 4 cups dhal and 3 cups flour to make12 dha puri?
With the amount of flour I used, I made 12 large dhal puris. I had some extra dhal that I added to a ziplock and froze. You can have more or fewer dhal puris depending on the size.

Hello Ash I love your recipe, I am from Mauritius and we also make Dhall Puri. One very quick question why didnt you use the water you used to boil the dhall to make the dough? Wont the water from the boiled dhall add more flavour to the dough?

Hi Ash..is that 1teaspoon bakimg powder to 3 cups of flour, I always thought it was 1teaspoon b powder to 1 cup of flour
That’s the correct measurement love when it come to roti and dhal puri making less is more in the rising agent , when you add too much rising agent that’s when you have a very dry and stiff roti
