Mark, I just had to put fluid in my 71 Cutlass convertible pump also, and you are so right about how hard it was to get that fill plug out. I also thought I had burnt up, the up and down switch, but a friend of mine tapped on the switch about 4 or 5 times and then it started working. I am so glad I didn’t have to tear my dashboard apart to replace it. Anyway, love your Chevelle convertible. I am from Ohio and also have a 69 Malibu so I enjoy watching your videos.
the switch is actually pretty easy to get to. Pop off the plastic cover under steering wheel - 4 screws. reach over and pull connector off of switch. then take off two 1/4" nuts that hold the bracket. I guess I should have included that in my video - thanks for watching.
