I do have to agree with you, counter strike as an absolutely amazing game. My dorm even plays CS:Zero regularly. Although I am glad you are enthusiastic about voicing your opinion, letting go of the caps-lock would probably be a good idea too.
In MY mind, I keep expecting them to make some kind of MW3 (Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3), with REALISTIC stuff going on. Example: you run into a house, take care of enemies, and you walk through a door and a man with his arm blown off grabs your arm and says "help me..." and then he gets shot by incoming enemies. And when you get into cover, jets fly over-head and start a REAL dogfight right in the sky over you. Possibly with 1 jet crashing near you later.

Used to play CS 1.6 for 5 years or something, then I found quakelive and never went back to CS. :) Quake is all about reactions, speed, movement, predictions, map control and aim (also remember all timings and stuff), rarely you can camp somewhere, like in CS. Im not saying CS is a bad game, I love it, but true skill based play comes from quakelive. CoD, BF etc. games are made to be fun and not for competitive (tournament etc) scene.
But yeah, you're probably right. Most modern dogfights would probably happen between choppers. Plus, you should see some of the new stuff USA has got coming out!
