When did Bettas stop being just blue or red? I remember when I was a kid I only had those two choices. Now the sky is the limit and it kills me because I want them all 🤣
That was cool really enjoyed the longer video. Pretty amazing how that wholesaler keeps and cares for them betta's. Pretty sad a lot of retail stores can't keep there's as clean with way smaller numbers to handle.
True I guess. When I use to work the pet department at a retail store we had betta's always dirty water. Everyone insisted on feeding them. I always cleaned there cups. Wasn't my job to and managers didn't like it waste of payroll in there eyes. So makes sense.
Cory idk how other hobbist feel but I usually love getting smaller fish not only is it more of a challenge to keep them healthy but I really enjoy watching them grow into adulthood for me breeding and watching them grow are the most amazing part of being in this hobby no matter how long I've been in this I'm always learning and my love is always growing for not only my fish but others I'm trying at the moment to replenish my stock of everything due to a house fire two years ago and the heartbreak that caused so needless to say I'm finally ready to get my life back with lots of new challenges thank you for the wonderful videos I'm getting my step child and granddaughter interested in fish keeping as well so yayy these videos are helping me alot I'm sub'd to many videos but yours is the only one I watch religiously
Lisa S petsmart sticks to only a certain group of fish in their stores and don't change what they have around like most local fish stores. If there are no local fish stores by you then maybe try some online retailers?
Try googling fish stores near you. I did just recently and was suprised to actually find some fish *only* stores. Also you can ask if they'll order in the fish you want.
Bettas: Im a sucker for the blue body, yellow fins! But to be honest- I would want them all . Im a sucker for bettas. Those 'sunrise guppies' looked pretty amazing! Bucket-list dream: spend $800 on live fish. Great vid!!
Great stuff Cory. Really enjoying the betta love. I'm completely hooked on my betta tank, I can't stop messing with it! Some of those white bettas looked great, not seen anything like that here. Those butterfly telescopes looked pretty good too. Nice wholesaler!
This is how my local fish shop is set up. But all the tanks are decorated. I just love the rows of fish tank. It doesn’t look pretty but it’s all about the fish.
This was really cool to see behind the scenes and see what a local wholeseller is like. It was awesome of those guys to let you film. Thanks for sharing with us! :D Also, omg, all those Bettas. I could stay there all day looking.
I have been binge watching your videos all day! I love that you are a well rounded guy with fish education and your day in a life vlogs! Very knowledgeable and entertaining! Subscribed!
I wish Aquarium Co-Op is in Los Angeles. I would absolutely work for you on Saturday and Sundays for free. I'll open up the store at 4 am in the morning if you want lol! Just thinking of the knowledge I can absorb from you about my beloved hobby, seeing fish all day, feeding, doing water changes and anticipating new fish shipment coming in. Holy crap! I'm already very happy! The smile on my face right now.
My Neo.Lamprologus tank is ambient-lit. I turn on a small LED desk lamp to directly illuminate when I feed so I can watch...but otherwise they go with whatever the room lighting is. I have zero algae and the fish are happy enough..works for me :)
I find these types of videos interesting and always want a lot of what I see lol. But I feel bad when I see the fish and the stress they go through before they end up in our tanks :( Thanks for a great video again!
I will be excited to see it. I know you have a lot on your plate too and a lot of footage to go through. Wish I would have gotten more footage myself while you guys were here.
I don't understand your dislike for small fish. As a consumer, the smaller or younger the better! I get to watch them grow and get the maximum life span.
As a store owner, the general public want's the biggest fish for the money. So smaller fish means people aren't buying. That is why I dislike small fish when shopping to resell things. It's no different then people liking a banana to be ripe, and you like them to be green. The general public want them ready to consume now.
Yeah his right plus smaller/younger fish sometimes don't show their full potential in color normally younger fishes have dull color than they are as adults but not all
I'm just reviewing some videos. You do an unboxing a week, so it's actually a good part of an experience. Very good place,, this seems a good video to have a sponge filtered sump. And seems the fish are fresh.
Daniel Coleman it’ll be a waste of space if they put one betta in a tank. They will fight each other to death. So putting them in cups is a good option for temporary
It creates reflections on the glass. All of my cameras already have it. I did use it in a fish room tour coming out when we were outside at 3 in the morning looking at ponds.
Aquarium Co-Op I see how that would be problematic. I think you still might want to look into external lighting of some sort for when you are shooting yourself or others. The built in lights aren't very flattering. Coming from the tech world, one of the biggest problems I see from fish hobby videos is the poor quality lighting. I think you'd really see an improvement in overall quality by investing in a quality light. Just a thought. Keep up the good work.
hey Cory can you see if you could get an interview with a wholesaler like ask him/her what it's like in the business? I can only find videos like this that's just a quick overview and just curious on the behind the scenes look. Thanks and love your content!
Ok thanks I thought I'd ask. I'm interested in being a wholesaler one day and there's not alot of content on it. I understand it's to protect their business and customers.
I love mustard gas half moon bettas I could watch them swim for hours. I also saw an iridescent cellophane double tail once that I didn't buy but I should have.... I've yet to see another cellophane with as nice a coloration as that one I passed up on.
To me, it has become obvious that you need to invest 5 dollars in a small pocket or key chain LED flash light to whip out when you come here. I think it would help you out a lot and be a very small investment, you probably already have one some where you can bring.
There are several videos here on UA-cam where people have toured our buildings and show them off. You should be able to find them by just searching Segrest Farms. Also, check out the videos on our Facebook page. We've been doing Facebook Live posts that often walk through the building and show off some oddballs.
Eclipse guppies were very nice! This was fun seeing inside a wholesalers. Question -- Are there many wholesalers in the Seattle area? Down here in L.A. there are tons scattered around LAX. Also, what is your best selling loach? Do Botia striata (zebra) sell very well?
Catfish Cave I live in Ventura, can you give me a few names of wholesalers around LAX? I'll be down in that area on Monday. maybe I can go check out a few .
I look them up on the internet - or look at shipping boxes in aquarium stores - or find them advertising in Aquarium magazines. Almost all (all?) are not open to the public. Retailers like Cory only. :(
Not many, only two locally. Best selling loach is probably kuhli loaches. Possibly a mix of other types but in general we don't sell a ton compared to other species.
Bilal el hlimi I keep shrimp (nothing too special) they are happy in a community tank so parameters arnt that special either lol they breed and live happily on generally and vegetarian diet
timmy280 yes.that's why my question was not specific cause I don't know either but was hoping that Cory would give me more details. I also have shrimp,I keep them with guppy fries, they are doing well and some females are pregnant but it's just the regular kind of shrimp I don't even know the proper name of it..my water Ph level ranges between 6.4~6.8,I don't know if other types of shrimp will thrive in my water parameters.
They have same heated water. But it does seem having a sponge on nozzle says it's filteted., if in a store there's varieties of sumps, heaters and dosers.
get a 40 breeder and do a scape I think you should do wisteria and rocks surrounding so it's like an island and dwarf sag around the island do sand with dirt under and stock it with rili shrimp and some sort of neocaridina
Cory. I need help! I am constantly getting algae in my tanks! I do weekly water changes and the tanks that I get problems with are all 6gal betta tanks. The algae just doesn't stop. I'm scrubbing like every 2 days. The temp is sitting at 24 Celsius and have like 1 plant in them. Thanks for your help.
That's your problem, you're changing all the water and not balancing the system. If you balance the plants and fertilizer with water changes correctly you'll grow plants and not algae as much.
Aquarium Co-Op yeah. I should have know that. Thanks. But I also got 3 small mystery snails for each of my betta tanks. And I got a peppermint bristle nose for my 25cube and she is amazing!
I'm new to this channel! So sorry if I sound stupid but what do you do with these fish you buy? Are they sold? Or do you breed them to get good colors?
Do goldfish actually sell that well? Are they more popular with folks that have ponds or are people with tanks buying them a lot too? Just curious since there's SO MANY in the video.
why were the bettas in cups rather than a tank? thought it may of been them being terratorial but don t know much about bettas but was thinking of researching them for a future time when i get new fish as they look great.
They should get acrylic panels. And make a wall of super long aquariums. When I see multiple tanks, I want to enjoy all of them as one tank. Than select for small tanks like they have.

That was cool really enjoyed the longer video. Pretty amazing how that wholesaler keeps and cares for them betta's. Pretty sad a lot of retail stores can't keep there's as clean with way smaller numbers to handle.
I find it easier with large numbers. Large numbers get priority. When you only have a little to lose, it gets pushed off to the side.
True I guess. When I use to work the pet department at a retail store we had betta's always dirty water. Everyone insisted on feeding them. I always cleaned there cups. Wasn't my job to and managers didn't like it waste of payroll in there eyes. So makes sense.

Wish there were places like this here that sell to the public. Tired of depending on petsmart for fish and them not even having what I want.
Lisa S I can relate
Ever heard of idk. Maybe... the internet? There’s a lot of options
Lisa S petsmart sticks to only a certain group of fish in their stores and don't change what they have around like most local fish stores. If there are no local fish stores by you then maybe try some online retailers?
We have a Sunday pet market were private home breaders come and seel most amazing fish
Try googling fish stores near you. I did just recently and was suprised to actually find some fish *only* stores. Also you can ask if they'll order in the fish you want.

PilleR i just looked at plakat bettas and I have a new favourite betta
Alexbacon wait till you see betta imbellis 😍
BeardiesAndBettas and your name is beardies and bettas- and i love both of those kinds of critters!!
I recently rescued a betta like that. Bright blue body yellow fin, paid 7.00 for him at a petstore.
Ooooo im jealous! 👍🏻
Great stuff Cory. Really enjoying the betta love. I'm completely hooked on my betta tank, I can't stop messing with it! Some of those white bettas looked great, not seen anything like that here. Those butterfly telescopes looked pretty good too. Nice wholesaler!
Great wholesaler trip Cory!
I love long videos!
Thumbs up!

the calico-whitish bettas you chose were my fave choice and also the calico goldfish were stunning too

I recently discovered you guys & I'm hooked!!! Awesome videos, oddly relaxing :) can't get enough!
+Ali Haselden awesome. Luckily lots of videos for you to binge watch.
I find these types of videos interesting and always want a lot of what I see lol. But I feel bad when I see the fish and the stress they go through before they end up in our tanks :(
Thanks for a great video again!
thank you for all your quick responses..i liked and shared your videos
Interesting visit to the wholesaler to see how you choose what we get to buy
Neat to see the wholesale process and that was a cool shipment.
Awesome vid! Thanks for taking us fish shopping with you! Neat to see.
I need to buckle down and edit your fish room video... Lot of footage there lol.
I will be excited to see it. I know you have a lot on your plate too and a lot of footage to go through. Wish I would have gotten more footage myself while you guys were here.

Yay worked out this time- bet that feels good!
I'm just reviewing some videos. You do an unboxing a week, so it's actually a good part of an experience. Very good place,, this seems a good video to have a sponge filtered sump. And seems the fish are fresh.
Watching this at work. Love it and keep it up.
That was really fun! We enjoyed watching!
only thing I don't agree with is keeping Bettas in cups
Daniel Coleman it’ll be a waste of space if they put one betta in a tank. They will fight each other to death. So putting them in cups is a good option for temporary
@@dubzzyxd750 actually you can put more than one Male in a aquarium and as long as you have plants and places for them bettas do well
307 Wyoming 4F No you can’t
307 Wyoming 4E you can more then one female in a 20g atleast a group of 5 in a heavily planted tank but never males together
Have you thought about adding a camera mounted led? It might help in situations like this where there is a lack of light.
It creates reflections on the glass. All of my cameras already have it. I did use it in a fish room tour coming out when we were outside at 3 in the morning looking at ponds.

Great Video Corey, great fish store wholesaler.
its neat to see all the verity

I doubt it, most don't want to be on camera. Hard enough to even get permission to film. If I get the chance I'll do it sometime.
Ok thanks I thought I'd ask. I'm interested in being a wholesaler one day and there's not alot of content on it. I understand it's to protect their business and customers.
very cool and interesting to see the wholesaler cory

enjoyed that very much. what kind of Cory's are they? they look awesome. Hope u show them again when there settled in. Thanks.
I believe I showed them in a daily dose already. Barbatus Corydoras.
Great & informative vid. Keep em coming. Thank you.
Those last couple bettas were nice

Flashlights don't do well with cameras. There are plenty around to use if buyers want too.
All those beautiful plecos. I want them all!!!
We order from Segrest, but it's interesting to see a walk-in wholesaler!
We do have retailers who are walk in customers. Just have to be convenient to the Tampa area!
Segrest Farms That's so awesome, I'd love to see the building sometime, you guys have so many unique fish!
There are several videos here on UA-cam where people have toured our buildings and show them off. You should be able to find them by just searching Segrest Farms. Segrest Farms Okay, I sure will
Hey cory I liked the long video, what about a video in cleaning your guppy lines, like how to clean them and things like that. It should be good
Nice pickup 😃
Great video , really enjoyed it !!!
Barbatus are cool! Great video.
Is this where u bought your clown loaches and tiger barbs recently?? Looking to buy some Loaches
Great video enjoyed this one .
Long video! Awesome!
The Congo puffer is cute!
Oh, and the "paddle tail" bettas are Veiltails , just immature and haven't grown their fins out longer yet :)
(Took 2 days to watch the video lol..)

they breed and live happily on generally and vegetarian diet
timmy280 I have heard that certain types of shrimp are a bit more sensitive than others that's why I asked..thank you!
That's true! But what type of shrimp they are I'm not sure lol.
I keep glass shrimp. Long claw and chameleon shrimp
timmy280 yes.that's why my question was not specific cause I don't know either but was hoping that Cory would give me more details. super cool video Cory just like always 👍💯✨✨
Hi was thinking about getting guppy's should I put some salt in the water make them last longer and how much PLEASE :)
get a 40 breeder and do a scape I think you should do wisteria and rocks surrounding so it's like an island and dwarf sag around the island do sand with dirt under and stock it with rili shrimp and some sort of neocaridina
I know this video is old, but for what its worth I like the blue/purple coloured bettas. What do you put your bettas in when you sell in store?

I own a retail fish store. So I sell them. As well as breed a bit as well.
Love this, do this more often!!!
Do goldfish actually sell that well? Are they more popular with folks that have ponds or are people with tanks buying them a lot too? Just curious since there's SO MANY in the video.
could you make the next one tank at a time a shrimp tank :)?
Not sure what the next one will be, I do plan to work on tanks very soon though.
This is so sick! I love it bro!
Just wait for he two German wholesalers I just visited this week!
I would love to have some dark emerald green bettas. I have seen pictures of them but I haven't been able to find any to buy.
these chain stores are sold culls and poor quality fish.
Damn...I would love a schoutedeni puffer. Super jealous!
Love these tours🇨🇦💖
what's up with those sponge filters are those custom maybe you should talk about those at some point what you doing
They made their own sponge filters yes.
I like the blue colored betas
Awesome video. Thanks!
hi. i have a little question. Do you recommend putting 2 angelfish inside a 20 gallon high aquarium? :)
I don't typically they'll outgrow it relatively fast.
Aquarium Co-Op
Thanks for your fast answering!!!
why were the bettas in cups rather than a tank? thought it may of been them being terratorial but don t know much about bettas but was thinking of researching them for a future time when i get new fish as they look great.
Right, they are aggressive with each other and are kept separate.
It's also a wholesaler, so they generally get moved rather quickly.
They should get acrylic panels. And make a wall of super long aquariums. When I see multiple tanks, I want to enjoy all of them as one tank. Than select for small tanks like they have.
Love these videos ...thanks
Do you ever see Tamasaba Golds at that supplier? I can't find them anywhere.
ever breed phantom Elephant ear guppies? and can you do a video if you do have them?
Thanks cory!!
Dorkula, will you be on tonights livestream? Cory is almost at 30,000! :)
What is done for the air humidity? Hundreds of open top aquariums...
Commercial dehumidifiers like I run in my store and warehouse.
@@AquariumCoop Sounds like electricity hog. Thanks for your replay, I saw the monster later in that vid.
man those tanks are filthy ! :)
Gaby it's actually meds
Yellow shrimp are my favorite
What is the best this to use in a shell dweller, cyprochromis, and krib tank for algea control?
Snails probably.
can you do a vedio on how to take great amazing care of a Betta
Do you sell fish out of your shop? The site doesn't reflect it... If you do; do you ship to New York City? Price list/selection, please.
What is the website if I would like to buy fish from you guys thank you
if I had a tank big enough I would buy all of those clown loaches
Thats awesome!
Cory you would go crazy a sunpets in Atlanta GA
How do I buy from you guys if I live in north Alabama? Any place near Huntsville?
Try a srtap on head camera shows where you look Derrick PERTH WA
Where can I buy live platy, molly, and guppie fish?
I just noticed the new channel profile.
Barbatus actual name Scleromystax Barbatus no longer considered in the Corydoras genus
He wants to play with shrimp wow
Cory -- What % of Live stock can you find at your local wholesaler VS what % you bring in from outside sources? ( by species not by sheer qty) Do these guys breed, or are they just re- wholesalers?
I am just curious -- I work in a multi-store retail situation, not fish related-- and I always have to decide between direct buying VS using distributors
thanks
+sevenmile less than 10% comes from local hand picked wholesalers.
Thanks. Buying for retail can be kind of complicated! And watching Aquarium Co-Op videos while trying to study spreadsheets can be distracting!
so I know wholesalers transhippers and what not will only give my LFS male guppies for certain strains, so what do these breeders do with all of the females?
Kevin Walden I suspect the ones that they sell get sold as mixed, with other guppies. Same happens up here with endlers.
They get culled
l love goldfish alot
i would like to have a shell dweller tank the shell dwellers get 7 cm I'm thinking a 30 gal will be ok for 5 an upgrade is always available my max is 55 gallons how many could I have in there also I've set up a 5 gallon fluval spec I'd like 6 cherry shrimp and a half moon betta
Why are Neon's everywhere but can never find Cardinal Tetras?
