Two more details I wanted to add: K Cerberus is easily one of the best weapons for parrying and getting your style points up. The Combo where Dante spins the weapon on his wrist (the ice pause combo) may not do much damage, but can easily net you two full style ranks if uninterrupted. Also, the Bo Staff moves do the most damage if you hit enemies with the flaming tip of the staff, and not the body of it. In other words, it's like Marth from Smash Bros, where you want to be a the maximum distance possible from your enemy and still hit them for the most effect. This weapon teaches you footsies.
Damn it Dante has so many options that despite having the most fun playing as him, I consistently get the lowest style ranks lol. I actually died for the first time to a non-boss in M16 on Devil Hunter not because I found the enemies hard, but because I kept getting hit trying to vary my weapons to get a good style rank
Akbar Naqvi I realise this may be a just a bit late but your style rank seems to be more dependant on the variety of moves you use and not getting hit rather than switching weapons
@@ninjos4 You are correct, you can get S+ rank with a single weapon as long as you dont spam the same attack. For example Stinger -> Stinger -> Stinger isn’t going to get your style rank up. Combo B -> launcher -> Arial Rave -> Helm Breaker -> Stinger will rank you up quickly. Whenever you get hit, your style grade drops by 2 level. If you are S+ you dropped to B. If you are A, it dropped to C. You can fully master a weapon you like and get S rank with it then learn to switch to another weapon and chain it to your normal combo string.
I might be mistaken, but I recall the common consensus in dmc3 was that Cerberus was one of the worse weapons in the game. Not bad mind you, but other weapons generally ranked higher in terms of effectiveness.
Quick tip: Hot Stuff will *decimate* Angelo squads. Due to their predictable and slow and attacks, it's very easy to throw it out and let the long, active hitboxes due the job for you. It works even better when there's an Angelo leader: a combined charge will let you parry and break two or three shields in an instant.
Sickest weapon in the game baby. Im bias though Cerberus was always my fav devil arm of Dantes. Almost lost my shit when they revealed it was returning in DMCV lol
Personally imo Calviere is absolutely metal asf, but I'm absolutely trash with it half of the time lol Other than that, I can agree that K. Cerberus is a whole load of fun.
I love your video tutorials it teaches me the most among all the other guides even including the game’s. Also, since I’m a keyboard user using a customized control scheme I love how you say the instructions like “lock on + forward +style” instead of stuff like “RB + forward” or “F+back” Thanks again man for all the neat tutorials
I went fiddling with this weapon, and it does pretty decent amounts of damage, especially when I went buffering the Lightning mode with the Ice and Fire modes.
I find the instructions for all the electric moves rather unclear. Yes you have to hold the button to charge it, but it's upon releasing the button that the move is actually performed. Also minor things like Percussion and Regicide actually cause crumple/stun states on enemies, or Bo-staff does more damage when actually hitting with the flaming tip.
To add to this you KC normal pause combo does not knock enemies back meaning you can chain combo B, regicide, percussion and ice age on stuff like Berserkers while they're DT and never suffer counter attacks.
@@MadMax22 oh yea if you are in fire mode you do like twice as much damage if you hit with the tip so your range has to be perfect. Thanks capcom for leaving us to figure that out on our own.....
Rock Back does more damage and stagger if you space it properly (similar to how the two fire ground combos have tipper bonuses). The spacing is around 1-1.5 void spaces.
Hey Devil Never Cry, i love your videos. They help a lot in the game. King Cerberus is my favorite weapon. Its very versitile. You got speed, range, defense and damage in a single weapon. Keep up the good videos. Congratulations.
I feel you missed an opportunity to mention some properties each move has that makes it unique. Rockback will get you close to an enemy without knocking them away. Also energy projections such as the fire wave you throw after swordmaster+back, lightning from release swordmaster+back, or the ice from melee+back are the same kind of damage as projectiles from your guns. Meaning they are effective vs bats and spinning lizards
Before I even got a handle on King Cerebus I was consistently doing Rockback into Regicide. It's one of the best ways to get a quick letter boost in style at low ranks.
Personally I have found that using Balrog (preferably Blow mode) to force a hard stun, is great for getting the time to pull off Hot Stuff. Granted I would use Real Impact on certain heavier foes but Hot Stuff is faster to use on a mob of enemies.
Hey wanna let you know that quick drive is still possible in the game. You have to melee, then input drive with DSD. It's a lot quicker than the normal one, but it doesnt allow for the follow up 2.
It was a shame they didn't add the Crystal extension where he hits the ground with the numchucks followed by a huge Crystal spike surrounding Dante acting as a AOE move much like the Ice Age move but it's ok tbh

I know this might be a faraway subject given for now your just going over the basic weapons for now but do you think one day you’ll go over the DSD sword formation including how to effectively use them in separation with moves Dante can do while the sword are doing their job? I honestly think the sword formation is one of the coolest moves in the game considering how vast it’s move set really is and how they go into different “modes” whenever u are each style. Idk I think a video about that would be extremely cool and useful
It's just a cheaper devil trigger bro. All things the swords do are what they already do on devil trigger for the 4 styles. Just that it will only take 2 DT squares instead of the normal activation
It's wild how complex Dante is. Like any 1 of his "swords" with any 1 or 2 guns would easily have been enough for any regular action game, you could probably play just this weapon and still have fun honestly.
