I love the idea of revisiting games for a “redo” review. Not the kind of thing that you can prepare for ahead of time but it shows that sometimes we aren’t in the right mindset for it. 👍
i had axiom verge on the switch since it came out but only now have i got back to and fully beat it. legit some of the most fun i’ve had playing a game in a while. in particular the movement, especially when you get the abilities to dash in all directions and swap places with your drone, is some of the most fun i’ve had with character movement in any game.
About 3/4ths of the subscribers subscribed when this channel was completely abandoned in favor of the tv show. Those subscribers probably don't even know they're subscribed.
Just finished this game yesterday. It dragged a little in places, but overall a great game that's lots of fun, very atmospheric and had a great soundtrack.
It's just fun - and the exploration is a carrot to keep me searching when smack into a dead end - the solution is usually hidden in plain site. Awesome music - intriguing game world concept and story, 10/10 for an indie!
As good as this is on the Switch, especially on the OLED screen, this game is absolutely incredible on the Steam Deck with its great speakers and stereo separation. Now if we could just get the screen and speakers together on one machine.
I had the same thing happen to me! I played it on steam for a few hours and thought there were some neat ideas but I got stuck and lost interest. I picked it up on sale on Switch recently and had a great time playing through it and am eagerly anticipating the sequel!
Hi Vick! Played about 90% of the way through this one when it came out. At the point that I stopped playing, I just remember it being tedious. I couldn't figure out where to go next, yada yada. May re-visit, but IDK... Have lots of other stuff to play. I'm sure that I'll try AV2 also. I'd give the original about a 7/10 based on my experience.
Never finished Axiom verge, didn't get very far, didn't hook me either, maybe I should give it another go? Anyway Hollow Knight is my favorite Metroidvania since the 90's
It's a game im defanly going to get back to but the 3 to 4 hrs I've spent on it I loved I'm but now playing blood stained now. And that game is awesome

Axiom Verge is one of the best indie games I've played. Thomas Happ put so much effort into it.

Axiom verge is a game I've played through about 10 times. Love it. Check out chasm another underrated metroidvania game.
Why does this channel get so few views? There seems to be a good number of subscribers and the content is very good.
charlie brown the content is positive without pandering. I have enjoyed Vic since the G4 days of Judgment Day.

Axiom Verge is my favorite of the games in this genre of the past 10+ years.
Playing it off the PS4 on remote play with a Backbone'd Google Pixel 6a in 2024. Its made for this experience. So so good.

For the couple hours a month a spend on my Xbox, this is one of the only game that I play... great game.

I have yet to play this game, but I’ve been holding off for when I’ve got that hankering for a Metroidvania game. 2015 was all about Ori for me.
Agreed, it's one of the best "new retro" games.

Did it have HD Rumble?

This is not my favourite style of game. After want Vic said some times a new mind set helps.
You must make like $5 a video - that can't be sustainable. (real remark, not me bitching)
