Here we are, Peacekeeper II. This was a fun one to work on, though surprisingly short. This has been a major request. As we draw to the Project Wingman OST with Dialog to a close, I wanted to make sure we got this one out. I am really thankful for all the fans who have enjoyed this fan project I've worked on. It's been a long road.
However... There is still something missing. Hmmm... I'd stick around after the video for something... Getting a weird transmission.

It’s sad because Crimson 1 was actually more of a terrifying enemy at the start but he fell off from what was practically pure insanity and grief, and obsession. Not to say he still wasn’t scary, but look at him and his squadron in this mission versus Mission 6.
He was still scary…But in a different way.

I believe it's the idea of his obsession leading to insanity. When we first started he was the hot shot ace everyone dreamed about. But as Monarch continued to kick his ass, his legacy was dying with it. Especially during Cold War, he loses a good chunk of his squadron. He feels Monarch took it all away from him over time and in a way he did. However, Monarch was fighting not just for a contract but for Cascadia's Independence. All Crimson saw because he was full of himself, was Monarch taking everything away from him.
He did not need to fight Monarch but he did. He sees Monarch as a villain. While we as a player see otherwise, if you pay close attention, all Crimson sees is his fame being taken away, his power, his skills. His obsession led to his demise. In the end, it technically was Monarch's fault. But it wasn't his fault to take away everything Crimson had. His obsession which led to his insanity took it away.
In his point of view, Crimson was raised that the Federation was the answer. It didn't matter he was Cascadian, his loyalty to the Federation is what he believed led to fame, fortune, and peace. That is what Crimson saw, and that's what he saw taken away from him.

In other words, both Crimson *and* Monarch were responsible for this.
@@secret_president Strongly disagree; Monarch is *not* responsible for Crimson 1's utter inability to control himself. Everything Crimson 1 did, **Crimson 1 did**. He was a broken man, yes, and the thing that broke him was that he kept losing to Monarch, but Monarch isn't the one who decided to set off a new Calamity let alone a second one. Crimson 1, solely, was responsible for that.
That laugh... Crimson 1 was really off his rocker.
I believe that's the true point where we fully broke him. That insanity would lead to the incident at Presidia.

i fully believe crimson 1 was really ready to just die right there. until he somehow survived and has his hatred reignited

that laugh......it gives me chills, its like hearing pixy saying "I found my reason to fight....." as he starts to engage you in ace combat zero.
Was Crimson 1 vengeful after the Prospero?
As he became more insane I think I kinda resonated with him, just from the opposite side. Like this mission when he wanted to kill me, my feelings of pity for him became stronger and stronger, but I just love to see him struggle to hit me and I pick his allies down one by one. Oh.. it's just so satisfying seeing his wings plucked and his friends die a helpless death. He hates me.. but he can't kill me or even touch me, and his insanity.. hahaha. I loved it. Music to my ears. When he went insane at 3:36 I just couldn't help but smile.
