It brings me such joy to watch as an incredible couple works together as a team, along with their "supporting cast", to transform their dream into a reality. Four suggestions: 1) Zip-lock bags, a sharpie and a camera three of the best tools when disassembling something that must be reassembled. Mark a zip-lock bag with a sharpie as to the contents and location, and place every fastener, as well as odds and ends, in the bag. Then place the bag where it can easily be found when it's time to put everything back together. 2) Again with the sharpie, mark every panel, piece of trim, etc. in a way that makes sense when putting everything back together. 3) Keep damaged pieces to use as templates. It makes marking and cutting replacements so much easier, not to mention precise. 4) Add two flat pry bars (amzn.to/31y1pBX) and a "cats paw" (amzn.to/31z7kXu) to your tool set. You probably have these at the tiny house, but it looks like you really need them now! By the way, at 18:12, as you expand your nautical terminology, a wall is a bulkhead. So, in one sentence, you score bulkhead, saloon and head! :) Congratulations on the addition of so many Patreon members. My only regret is that I don't live closer. Otherwise I'd be there to help you in a heartbeat. Your subscriber count is closing in on 100K, so many another milestone within the next week. Until then, be well and do good work.

We actually used both. In the beginning we used just the wet rag but the fire were starting really easy. So, we decided to use argon. It was actually included in the price of the welding

I know this a very big project and a ton work. However, what an adventure you two are on. The reward will be well worth the effort. The memories will be priceless.
For later reference, what you needed to stop the heat when welding was a fiberglass welding blanket. They isolate heat extremely well, you can have glowing red metal on one side and hold your hand on the other. They can be a bit expensive, but they also sell it much cheaper as fire blanket (for extinguishing kettle fires etc).

Those last areas you are working on are bulkheads and they are important for the integrity of the boat. So. it is good that you decided to remove some and check for further damage.Brazil has a lot of Teak wood so I imagine is not that expensive to replace any wood that is damaged. Great job guys.

I agree with Chris. Do not hesitate to disassemble / cut, including wood studs that are very correct. You will always find a good solution to put back in place according to your desires and you will know the "structure" of your future home. Be careful not to abuse old bottles ;-)
The best thing about having to take the boat apart is, you now know the boat inside and out which could possibly get you out of trouble if something happens down the road.

Hello! Did you consider fixing some of the tougher to access holes with fiberglass or a two part epoxy? There are epoxies that are as strong as steel.Just and 💡 idea!

You can also use the old liquor when fishing. If you pour some alcohol into the fish's gills the fish will die instantly from brain death. This method is the fastest, least messy, most humane way of killing them.

Hey Duca, those rust spots on the port side that you were unsure how they got there are from rigging or something heavy denting the steel and removing the paint in a small spot. Over time the rust will grow into that, it looks like there was a small dent there.
No. But å cold weld prosedyre can help. I see å lot of smoke so I hope they grind off about 2 cm of galva before welding. More control on tig weld on clean steel. But easy that the covergass blows away and than ruin the weld working outside.

Haha I don't think you lost the video footage of the booze tasting. You just did not want to show how you used your clever engineering skill to convert the bilge pump into a stomach pump to remove that bad booze from your stomachs.
Nice work! Not sure if it was done in the survey, but you should look at getting some ultra sound spot checks on the hull, especially around the keel and lower sections before you paint. Its not too expensive, but could identify and serious hidden corrosion!
Check out any industrial inspection company, particularly for oil field inspection. You can usually rent the unit and self perform. Its not complicated. Good luck!

The wood in Brazil is quite expensive, wood like teak is quite expensive and the Brazilian one doesn’t have the same quality of the other ones

Hello! Did you consider fixing some of the tougher to access holes with fiberglass or a two part epoxy? There are epoxies that are as strong as steel.Just and 💡 idea!
They were to big for these kind of fixings. We thought the solution we got would last for longer

Hi, you can hold a copper plate behind the weld, that will protect the area from to much heat, and you can remove it easy after the weld is done.

Hey Duca, those rust spots on the port side that you were unsure how they got there are from rigging or something heavy denting the steel and removing the paint in a small spot. Over time the rust will grow into that, it looks like there was a small dent there.
We haven't think about it, that could be for sure.
Hot air gun or an electric iron will heat the glue and you can lever it off.
the glue is composed by epoxy... it's a really strong glue. I'm pretty sure the heat wouldn't work in this case

I see you used rod welding. Tig welding will produce less heat to the boat.
But the process of welding with tig is too slow and it would ended up heating more
No. But å cold weld prosedyre can help. I see å lot of smoke so I hope they grind off about 2 cm of galva before welding. More control on tig weld on clean steel. But easy that the covergass blows away and than ruin the weld working outside.
So outside welding in not very clean surface is better with rods i think. (Steelfitter first profession and not welder but have welder å lot)

Nice work! Not sure if it was done in the survey, but you should look at getting some ultra sound spot checks on the hull, especially around the keel and lower sections before you paint. Its not too expensive, but could identify and serious hidden corrosion!
We actually tried to find one to measure the hull but we couldn’t find it.
Check out any industrial inspection company, particularly for oil field inspection. You can usually rent the unit and self perform. Its not complicated. Good luck!
