  • FULL SPEC BELOW on the iLoud Micro Monitors. More detail & purchase info here: www.sweetwater....
October 27, 2016 - IK Multimedia is pleased to announce that iLoud® Micro Monitor, the smallest active studio reference monitoring system in the world, is now available and shipping worldwide. With an ultra-linear frequency response, best-in-class bass (down to 55Hz @ -3db), the smallest footprint and incredibly detailed sound, iLoud Micro Monitor is the perfect reference monitoring system for tight studio spaces that delivers high-end sound without the high-end price.
With iLoud Micro Monitor, musicians, producers, video editors and sound designers now have a way to critically listen to their music and audio no matter where they're working - in a bedroom studio space, hotel room, tour bus, a larger studio as a second set of monitors, or just streaming music and listening at home.
    Powerful detailed sound
iLoud Micro Monitor delivers amazingly detailed, clear and accurate audio in a compact, efficient and portable enclosure. They are able to do this in conjunction with the DSP-controlled frequency response, ultra-accurate and time aligned crossover and smart design - the drivers are powered by four ultra-efficient class D power amplifiers that push out a combined 50W RMS of power. Each speaker sports a 3/4" silk dome tweeter, a 3" custom composite material performance woofer and a large flaring front-firing bass reflex port. iLoud Micro Monitor's sound is characterized by pleasing high frequencies, an exceptionally "open" detailed midrange and a solid, controlled low end.
    Total DSP control
iLoud Micro Monitor provides a flat and linear speaker response in any listening environment thanks to its on-board 56-bit digital signal processor (DSP). The DSP handles the frequency and phase response of the monitors and also manages the dynamic range so that the drivers are always under control. The DSP also acts as a digital crossover allowing for invisibly smooth transitions between the drivers themselves. This DSP can be adjusted to suit different listening environments thanks to three EQ switches: One for treble, one for bass and a DESKTOP toggle that lets users optimize iLoud Micro Monitor for use in either a free field or desktop setup. iLoud Micro Monitor can be positioned on a desktop at two angles of inclination with their dual-position isolation bases, or in free-field positioning on standard microphone stands thanks to their integrated threaded mic stand mounts (UNC 3/8"-16 thread).
    The "Super-nearfield" monitoring system
iLoud Micro Monitor is designed so that the sweet spot is at the ideal location when users are creating, producing, mixing or listening to music. And because the sweet spot is closer to the speakers, users are able to monitor the audio without the unwanted effect of room reflections that can color the sound, thus presenting the most accurate sound in a small space.
    Input options
iLoud Micro Monitor accepts both RCA (cable included) and 1/8" wired connections and can also be paired for Bluetooth streaming with all Bluetooth audio streaming-enabled devices.
    The bottom line
iLoud Micro Monitor delivers stunningly accurate and detailed sound for mixing in any space - from cramped bedrooms to large studios - without the compromises in sonic quality normally associated with small and budget monitors. Simply put, iLoud Micro Monitor's sound is so good that it's nearly inconceivable for a speaker system of this size and at this price point.
    Pricing and availability
iLoud Micro Monitor is now available and shipping from music and electronics retailers worldwide, and from the IK online store for only $/€299.99 per pair (excluding taxes).

These monitors are seriously one of the best ive heard, and ive owned the M-Audio BX8 and Yamaha HS50m. They sound very neutral with no hype in any of the frequencies, the bass is just spot on. I have them placed on Auralex mopads (to tighten the bass) and ive set the iLoud micro's to DESK setting, set these speakers to DESK setting only if you dont mount them on mic stands. Well done IK Multimedia, amazing product!! reminds me of the good days when innovative products were developed.

You can get some JBL3series 5" monitors for $99 each , They are based on $20,000 speakers. Amazing monitors I can monitor mix & master for hours w/no ear fatigue I've had the 8" & the 5" JBL's the 5" are perfect to use anywhere. They sound better than the m audio BX8a's i have. JBL is a old company & have lots of smart folks working away w/slide rulers…because these things sound as good as monitors I've paid 5x's the amount for they will be a classic like the yamaha's . I'd have to hear them in real life to believe they would be anywhere near worth $300 .

Hey there, I just wanna ask if you still have and use the iLouds? If yes, how long do you have them in total? Are they still working fine, properly and didn't get faulty (woofer/panel dying, bass port noise etc.)? I'd like to buy them, but I read online that many users complain about how short they last, that something stops working after 3-4 months etc. and that IK multimedia support generally sucks. I don't want to buy them only to end up returning them...Is your experience similar/opposite? Thanks in advance!

I see all those Carvins in the back. I owned one of those for years and did not use it much. I did not think about Carvin for years. Then, needing a USA small tube amp. I could not find anything that was USA, and didn't break the bank. I was convinced I should be able to get a USA 5 to 10 watt amp, for 500 bucks. I spent 470 bucks shipping and all. Got a V30 upgrade. And got the V16 1x12 combo. It is 15 or 5 watts, and they upgrade it to a V30 for like 35 bucks. I paired it with a FD3 Limited Edition. Every soundman in town gushes over my incredible classic rock tone. And players ask to photo my amp settings and pedal so they can buy the same rig and get the same tone. If you are the Tone King, you should do a video on that rig. I have Matchless tone quality, and did not spend 2,400 bucks. Off Subject I know.........

I am glad to hear you say that about M-Audio. I have BX8-a. I have had them for 8 years or so. But I have outgrown them for some time. I have made great recordings on them. Only because I have improved so much at mixing and mastering. But they are to big for my desk and my studio. I need smaller speakers. If these are smaller and sound better, I need to get these. What M-Audio speakers do you have? And would you say they are flatter? The BX8-a has WAY too much BASS! These seem as if the bass is more truthful along with the midrange.

They are so small. My PreSonus Monitors are 35W and sound amazing but wish they were thinner like those. They sound surprisingly very good even across a non-mic'd video. I have an iRig2 and iRigUA (for Android), IK makes really nice stuff. For the money that's pretty good too.

Hard to tell from UA-cam on iPhone & my killer Marshall earbuds, but if you gotta raise your voice up over them, 👍, TTK.
I'm pro studio interned back in my hometown of Seattle in the early '90's, so I've been optimistically hopeful on these thing's claims, THX!

Please don't take this the wrong way. You seem like an awesome person and you make good video reviews. But for the life of me, I haven't been able to really understand or wrap my head around unboxing videos. Why is that so interesting to spend 4 minutes waiting to see the product? This goes for all unboxing videos.
