This is actually one of the more helpful videos/reviews on these monitors as your actually showing differences in the performance rather than just saying "I like these"

My philosophy is that when it comes to monitors/speakers/PA's, the ONLY way to demo/review them is to compare them with similar units. Same goes for microphones!

Not only the superior base response, of the I Loud,
but the built in Kawai speakers add much more coloration.
    Thanks for this!

Hey Chuck, how do the iLoud Micros sound on a Nord Electro in 'Hammond B3' mode playing the really low notes? Do the iLouds 'fart out' on the low 'Hammond' tones?

Hi Chuck. It's been a little while since I've visited your channel.
I remember seeing this video before! This video was quite interesting to me as I'm quite fascinated by small speakers with big sound; it's quite impressive what can be possible with those kinds of speakers for sure!
I do not have these speakers in particular, but I have something else that's also pretty impressive: it's a portable speaker system called the "Minirigs". If you've never heard of them... well you're not the only one. They're not really a super popular brand when it comes to portable audio (well, at least not in the United States). But yet they manage to make some great-sounding products! The way they work is that you get the "main" speakers, and you can choose weather you want one speaker or two speakers (for mono sound or stereo sound, respectively). Then, if you want to take your listening experience to another level, Minirigs have an optional portable subwoofer... which is literally small enough to be tossed into an ordinary backpack! And yet, for how small and portable the system is, it's very impressive how good it sounds. Especially considering you can just toss it into a backpack with very little difficulty! (that is, as long as your backpack is not also full of a boatload of other junk :)).

You were wrong however, when you said... ".. one of the best..." They are THE best! Thanks again. I'll keep watching and checking out your channel... kudos and enjoy your day!!!

    Hi Chuck,
I recently bought a Casio PX S1000 and I then saw this review and bought these speakers.
I am using them through the headphone outlet with the cable provided with the speakers.
The sound is good, but will it improve with a dual 1/4 inch to rca connection?
The volume control on the speaker is at maximum for full effect. Is that normal?
    Love your reviews!!!

OK Chuck I appreciatte your study into digital pianos and sound reinforcement..(Let's just say I feel your pain/joy here in Dallas) I have personally owned 17 Digital Pianos as up to this Date, including Rolands V-Piano (to big in case in a Prius) to even the N3 Avant Grand for 6yrs. ( As a practice piano instead of my C7e) Currently I use RD2000 and Keyscape when there is a controller on the gig. NOW THE BIG and ever present QUESTION or ISSUE has ALWAYS been the psycho/physio/dynamics connection between what we hear/or don't hear from our speaker reproduction system and how well connected (and relaxed) we feel to our instrument. (The Keys & Keybed)(And better yet how that translates as a solo-pianist, working with a bass player, and then adding drums, in a noisy environment. I can't tell you how many dozen "tiny" speaker systems I have velcroed to the "Digital SLAB" of the moment. But I am going to TODAY pick up a pair of those iLOUD monitors. Now you may be on to something with the KAWAI MP11SE piano as far as feel and sound.... (It's 2018 and it's possible with spks/and servo digital amps to build a slab piano w/o adding to much weight) So I am going to combine the iLOUD M's, with an H&K Lucas Nano 300 sub woofer next to my left leg. We will see or hear.? I carry "2" QSC K8.2 for room sound connected to KEYLARGO (Mains) and use the MONITOR out for what ever small spk system of the "moment" I am trying to anchor my "slab-piano" self to.... Thanks KB

If you're able to, I'd love to see a video of that!! Of course the sound that viewers will hear will be limited to their own speakers.... but the basic idea of sound will be conveyed in comparison with other sound sources they've heard on their own system. Come on back and post your thoughts/findings!!

      Chuck;
I even own a video company but I don’t think it’s worth the effort. I wish QSC
would make a “K4”, I’d buy 4 of them and use “ON STAGE” ratchet assemblies ( w/ mic stands) to
re position the speakers direction etc. (In a North/East/South/West) pattern.
Even my “KeyScape” PC laptop set up with 4-500 gig Custom SSD’s and the BabyFace Pro
delivers me un-satisfactory results. ( In Live performance) Yes it’s the speakers.

Mine arrived today. I just use them for my 2.0 tv set up (movies/playstation/entertainment) so no pro audio, but I like a real studio like sound, and it is just impossible what comes out of these speakers. I sit 3 meters away, volume on 1/4 (9 o clock) and I did not dare to increase the input gain to max becaue they are so damn loud. And so clear and at the same time so brutal strong. To me they sound as my (cheap but good) headphones.. Just awesome and you here everything.. I am really speechless.. how is this possible.. I feel the base and it is not boomy.. Just insane..

Your video and some other extremly positive feedback from professionals made me order these speakers that I never heard in real life :-) I just thought if pro guys, with years of experience who know their stuff are so excited about these speakers, there must be a reason. I just love them for cinema watching. I know they are studio monitors, but oh boy they sound so damn good with cinema, the dialoges, the explosions, the music. Little details, loud explosions, Stereo effects.. Just insane :D

Hold on a moment here, you've got the iLoud speakers perfectly placed for the monitors but they look slightly further away from the Kawai built in speakers, are you sure the Kawai speakers aren't facing the floor like they do in a lot of keyboards ?

While I haven't personally done or tried this, my understanding is that you can use all 3 inputs (1/8" stereo, L&R RCA inputs, and Bluetooth input) at the same time. NOTE: I've not personally confirmed this but that's what I've read.

I wouldn't recommend it. These are small nearfield monitors meant for up-close listening. Bass response rapidly deteriorates the further you get from them to the point where the audience will find the sound tinny. Its good for a room the size of your average home studio, that's about it.
