I live in Athens Greece. I bought a brand new 07 Tuono. I love it. It is not a motorcycle for traffic congested cities like Athens, where the speed in the city is extremely low. Especially on summer, after 5 minutes the radiator fans will start, and will not go off if you do not stop. But then the temperature will over 105 Celsious, which I do not like, so before I turn the engine off I try cool the engine down first. But in rides in the country side, is perfect (for everyday moving I have a Suzuki GS500E). I even went to trips in Europe 4 times (Athens-Patras-ferry to Ancona-the Alps). In the Alps is more than pefect. It is impossible to go slowly. The faster you drive , the better you feel. I bought the Tuono, because clip-ons are not for my age. My wrists are getting tired very easily. So I love my Tuono.

I had a 1st gen RSV. Sold it a while back, now I ride a 1250 GS. And yet, here I am, watching Aprilia V-twin videos. I love your enthusiasm about the Tuono! Reminds me of how much fun my RSV was.

The Tuono Grin! Matches perfectly my imagination that every time I start my Tuono I hear 'If I Had A Tail' of QOTSA in the background :-)

As you know Griff I've been living with my gen2 Tuono for 15 years and still love it, hope to keep it for many years to come.
Yes the Oberon is an improvement even though my clutch was not too heavy before. Stator upgrade now means I don't need to worry about being stranded with a flat battery.

Bought an gen2 Tuono a few months ago after an TL1000S, TL1000R & RSV Mille.
I liked it at first, since I removed the catalytic converters and switched to mapping2 it’s perfect for me. It’s everything I’ve searched for in a roadbike.

These bikes are so rare lol, working at an Aprilia dealer they trinkle in every blue moon but yet to see a 2nd Gen RSV1000R as I have a 2003 RSV Mille 🥲 idk their is something more attractive about aprilias vs Ducati’s to me I think it’s that beautiful 60 Degree V-twin

I've got a gen2 factory Tuono, it is a fantastic bike. Ive also owned the gen2 rsv1000r but much prefer the ergos of the Tuono. I own and have owned many bikes and the gen2 is the best sounding bike by far with the best chassis.

Fz07 to 2nd Gen Tuono, best upgrade ever. I can vouch for the Tuono, it lives up to its name.

Hey! I know this is late, but I used to own an fz07. The struggle i had is im 200+ pounds, and the highway was a stuggle for longer trip rides. Im still trying to settle with its looks, but that engine im in love with. Now that i have a car, i feel like i should get another fz07, but i know i would want more power later on. They have a tuono 1000 v2 for $5999 with only 1500 MILES! I feel like the tuono is calling my name. What do you like about the tuono that the fz07 doesnt have?

Great video Griff. i use my gen2 all year round and have fallen foul of the dreaded drain corrosion. Maybe add things that happen that could be solved by checking eg the aluminium pipe spigots under the tank.

Got a 2007 exact same colour as this. My first bike after getting the license. Maybe not the smartest idea to start with this but I'm beginning to get around to it and everytime you turn on the engine or roll up the throttle it makes up for being big, heavy and hard to handle (compared to the 600 I did my license on).

Owned my gen 2 1000r for nearly a year has to be one of the most mental bikes I've owned had it fully remapped and added a fueling map.Always brings a smile doesn't like slow speeds at all 🤣🤣.I now use it just for summer months recently picked up a Aprillia rst1000 futura for commuting to and from work spent a few quid getting it upto scratch absolute pleasure to ride also.

@@79mechguy Evening Buddy where should I start Has to be one of the most comfortable bikes I've ridden to date handles superb on long trips out or countryside u can literally throw it into the bends .Sits comfortable at high speeds.Fuel wise good mpg .Now here is the downside if ur ignition coil sticks go wrong which there known for if riding in wet weather's then u need deep pockets to try source one and then lumping out around 300 quid just for one .Now I got around that as peugeot do the exact same coil stick u just have to dremel of the holding bracket that's it works perfect cost u 11 quid.Other than that and not being able to source rear back brake head units if to say urs was cracked cannot source them.but if u can get the bike for under 1.5k the bike will last a life time also u the dash tells u any fault codes on the bike if misbehaves there's two wires under the seat u plug in then start bike up givin u the code on the bike hope this helps Regards Aaron

I'm going to look at a 2010 tuono 1000r this comming weekend. Popped up on Craigslist for what looks to be a steal based on the book value and wild market prices. Ive never owned an aprilia but have owned a couple hundred bikes over the years. Looks like there's a few quirks but overall seem to be quite solid rides. It has leo Vince pipes and still retains the o2 sensor so im assuming it hasn't been switched to map2 which id have done once I find a dealer or theres a place I can send the ecu out too for a reasonable price. Bike has just under 25k miles and looks to well kept. Ive been watching many videos and these looks like very fun bikes. I did own a 2000 suzuki tl1000r which was a blast and had a couple sv650's so another vtwin would be great.

I have the exact same bike ('08 in Dream Blue) which I bought back in 2013. I went for the Tuono over the RSV primarily for the ergonomics. Between arthritis, tendonitis & bursitis, I needed a more upright riding position. I also prefer the look of the Gen2 over the Gen1. I noticed you warned about not over-revving it, which got me wondering, what do you recommend in regards to the rev warning light setting? Thanks Griff....

Had an RSV4 2010 Biaggi for 3 years, utterly ridiculous for the road. Now am hunting one of these but am very para about the stator horror stories. I absolutely do not ever want to be breaking down, it’s just not viable for me. I’ve read everything I can find on the topic which sees even the Italian engineers themselves arguing on the cause of the matter 🤔 Bizarre.
