I love this level of creativity, they don’t care about the use of certain things (of course they have to at a certain point, otherwise no one would buy), but I love the games they play, creativity is also a bit of fun at times, in my opinion, especially in a world where everyone is wearing beige.

I think he'd be great for Chanel. In Karl's era, there was an element of the fun and whimsical that isn't there anymore. I think of all of the surprising seasonal themes, and their little trinkets, minaudières, and bags that just brought that element of quirkiness into the somewhat frumpy landscape of "Ladies that lunch" tweed. Those were the unique items that merit the 10k€ price tag for the non-couture folk, because they were so unique and collectable.

I love jacquemus! I don't own any of their handbags, but the clothes are perfect! The only brand i do not need to tailor anything from, they fit like a glove. Plus the price is quite low for the quality you get ❤

The marketing is flawless , literally so aspirational and creative he builds this whole vibe and lifestyle associated with the brand, the designs are gorgeous too and it’s so admirable that he’s created a signature handbag that was innovative and became an overnight classic! Only thing is I’ve heard people complain again and again about bad quality and slow delivery of the website so without repeat customers will effect sales etc

Jaquemus is a one item brand. You get one item from them and the desire is satisfied. Thats been my feeling on them. Ive got my one SLG and im good.

tbe forever. honestly as tiny bags go the la chiquita is kinda pratical. i do appreciate how creative and colorful the brand is. I am surprised that they don't have a store in LA already, it does feel very LA in many ways.

I love the quality of the bags I have of them, but I do think it depends on the model and type of leather how good their quality is
Jacquemus is one of my go-tos for ready-to-wear, their designs are unlike anything else for the price point. I've had quality issues, but the designs are so contemporary and unique but not oversaturated on socials so I gravitate towards the brand. Their basics are good, they have a hint of logo but it's not ostentatious. I'm actually not a fan of their most popular bags.

I still love Jacquemus, currently have 1 bag in my wishlist- i hope they continue to be successful & i did read an article of Simon speaking about investors but he wants someone who understands the brand & who remain as a minority stakeholder- my issue with the brand is pricing, the accessories eg handbag vs the clothing is far too expensive- a tshirt being almost £300, when a bag is approx £400/£500 doesn’t make sense to me.
I really dislike that bag in any size. But I love Cassie's analysis! 🧐

I will say, the way they're fun and unexpected is why I love them so much. They continue to be my favorite house. Yes, the bags aren't the best quality, I do admit that, unfortunately but I love what Simon's doing and love the unique and charismatic pieces. I do agree that the hype was a few years ago and with the quality being meh, I'm not surprised they aren't doing as well as they once were not too long ago. I think it'll be an interesting balance from Simon, does he go super expensive and try to become an even larger house OR does he fall into more of the mid-luxury lane of Acne Studios, Ami, and stay in that space overall

I don’t even mind him being a new Chanel CD. Hell, let everyone have a stab. Chanel is in a creative tailspin, charging 10k for bags that fall apart before you leave the store and failing to make a single memorable contemporary design in a decade. Why wouldn’t it work for Simon?

Hey Cassie, happy new month❤. I'll be honest, the clutch with the metal detail is the only thing from jacqmeus that has ever caught my eyes. Even on the outnet, you can see the garments aren't well made. Quality doesn't seem like their strong suite.

It's fascinating because Dior has produced so many impressive and long-lasting brands, Galiano, YSL, and Marc Jacobs come to kind. Yet I have not yet seen that level of success come from getting the head of an existing contemporary/luxury brand without sacrificing their contemporary brand.

It’s one of the few luxe brands I’m interested in. Dior, I like it for their classic feminine silhouette; Boucheron, for its blend of modern and classic; JACQUEMUS, can’t put my finger on it but it’s got its own je ne sais quoi

Not to contradict the Queen of TBË but the TBE rise is actually older than Le Chiquito and its closer to home.
Ignoring Fendi's Croisant from the late 90´s (see the tiny bag Carrie carries the first night she doesn't pack an overnight bag to stay at Big's).
Following the success of the Monster charms in 2014 Fendi introduced the Micro Baguette and Peekaboo as actually functional bags bag charms for spring 2015, with other brans following suit and ending the tradition of charms in the shape of bags that couldn't be used as bags that other brand occasionally did in previous years.
Le Chiquito is just the most popular in a long line of TBE's because it's the most ridiculously unusable and cheap (while still having caché) of them all
None of this is to be confused with Mini Bags that while "small" weren't "tiny" since those have existed for god knows how long
I have a Jacquemus story but its not a good one unfortunately. I purchased a bag that was clearly poor quality from the beginning and when I mentioned it I was accused of using and damaging the bag (to this day I have never used it) I was incredibly disappointed in the type of quality they were trying to pass off as luxury and obviously after that and being called a liar I can't engage with that brand anymore. Which is a bummer because I was so excited to purchase more from them.
Now this is just a theory, but considering how many lux brands just burn their overstock, could it be they are no more/less in the red than the other brands but are choosing to resell rather than destroy? I have no expertise or knowledge in this field, but could this be possible?

Seeing that Jacquemus is being sold at Shein (even through second hand) must be worrisome. Luxury brands usually lose popularity once the middle class/"the poor" begin buying en masse. That's another way to say "diluting the brand image." If Jacquemus don't stop this, they can end up like Coach or Michael Kors.

I want them to succeed too, they are fresh and creative without being ridiculous. While it would be good newa for Chanel, I selfishly want him to stay with a smaller more accessible house because we'll be able to afford him...

I think Jacquemus is a unique brand. I think they have not taken full advantage of their ready-to-wear market. They need to make more "wearable" clothing that go with their accessories. I havent met a jacquemus woman and maybe thats part of the issue.

Luxe goods at a self-service automat is the ultimate contradiction. Jaquemus will thrive and distinguish themselves if the top suits pay attention to giving great customer service, and price gouging, 2 areas where other houses are slipping.

🤷 They probably need to scrap the number of new BOUTIQUES & scrap the wholesale to only select retailers. Online purchases needs management assp. Pop-up are cheaper to run but lack the luxury experience + inventory. Hes created SO MANY Viral exclusives, those items do sell like hotcakes💸. Overexpanding in permanent locations could backfire. Selecting fewer store locations could create the loyalty in store experience + new customers. This sums it up. Follow miu miu's footsteps essentially. NO HONEY- (VIRAL TRENDS) NO MONEY. Act fast otherwise shien will be taking thier e-commerce inventory faster than u can spell jaquito.

I honestly hate their handbags, I feel like they're kinda ugly and a bit overdone (more so the chiquito), they don't feel timeless to me. but that being said 😂 I do admire the brand and the humble beginnings, I remember stalikng the jacquemus website as a young fashion nerd, back when the brand was very collagey and focused on shape and colour. I remember he launched the brand shortly after his mum died suddenly and that moved me. he really built it brick by brick
All i can think about looking at all that plastic is about how bad it is going to look after a couple of washes. And honey ...if it can't be washed in the washing machine. .....i know that it is going to trash. So why buy it in the first place?!.
