Anytime you ever hear someone say "things were better back then" we know it means compared to how things are today. While it's mostly true, unfortunately you can't go back. That's what makes it so depressing, it's funny I was in such a hurry to get here because I thought it was better, mostly I was wrong. However, a few nights ago I saw SP for the 3rd time, I had 2nd row pit seats which are so much better than where my seats were back in the heyday at other shows. I suppose not everything about today sucks, hope your mom liked the song.

The 80's had the BEST combination of music that blows todays music away. Every group or individual had their own unique sound and they got that sound without all the gizmos these bands have today. Most of it was 'raw' music. You had the best Top 40, Rock, Metal, Hair Bands, you name it. What's unique and can't be copied is that the music 'SOLD OUT' arenas everywhere worldwide everywhere it went and does so even today when certain bands do a tour. The 80's was just a GREAT time as far as music goes. Oh, I graduated in '85 and was enjoying every damn bit of it. Still do!!!!

Add the fact that if hooking up with the hot girl meant jamming Poison in your car's cassette deck when your friends weren't around, then that's what you did to seal the deal! G&R was the perfect crossover band at that time that changed the face and sound of the hard rock scene with their FTW attitude and bad boy image. If you listen to a well produced album from the 80's, It still sounds amazing and just as good quality as what is made nowadays. I was in a band in the 80s played all the LA clubs with all the hair bands, and thought we never hit it big, it will always be the best time of my life. SP started as as a great 80s cover band with a great sense of humor but I think it has morfed into much more than that to a lot of people. Rock on boys.

Born in 1994 I grew up with all my dad's hardrock heroes. Back then it was hard for him to get the music he liked since he lived in eastern germany. It must have been the greatest time to be alive and truely the golden years for rockin' hard. I'm still listening to the original 80s vinyl records today...
Greetings from Germany - thank you guys for this masterpiece!

What an amazing year! The music, the girls, the friends, the cars! Yes, I'm much more successful now than I was then, but everyone was so much more alive then. This song brings it all back.

LONG LIVE THE 1980s! Loved this song from start to finish. The lyrics are great...yes music then was the best, yes we will NEVER let it die and YES the modern world is lost and confused and most will never understand. Special thanks to you guys for shouting out to Eddy once more you guys, myself and everyone in the chat miss him. 1987 is awesome to me for many reasons, including it was the year Kramer released the Stage Master 1 in Candy Blue; I got mine...Satchel you got yours? :) Lastly that line about our heroes...YOU GUYS are heroes for saying what you say and doing what you do. You gentlemen better be rocking it when you are all older than the Stones are now! Looking forward to Steel Panther summer tour 2050! Keep your claws sharp!

"...and the music, that we worshipped will live on, even after all our heavy metal heroes will be gone."
That is a very poignant line. Everything dies. And our metal heroes, one day, will, too. I haven't lived through the 80s for even a single second. I was born in '94, when grunge and hip hop dominated the airwaves and metal was finding itself in a tough spot.
But having grown up around 80s music, that my parents listened to and I grew to love, I felt that.
    Thank you, Steel Panther.
